Arnak is one of the excellent games that will stand the test of time; given the mass production of games nowadays, rare are the ones that shine among this crowd, we wish to have more expansions, maybe some secret goals for end of game scoring, more leaders, more cards, we want the legacy of arnak to continue for years ahead
Awesome passion to be seen in everyone of the team. I love Arnak, got first expansion last Christmas and looking forward to play second. Keep on doing great games and thanks for this nice series. Kinda sad that it's over.
Mám radost, že se daří české firmě a českým autorům. Po shlédnutí všech 8. dílů, se mi zdá, že by to byl dobrý námět na celovečerní film "Jak Češi dobyli deskoherní svět."👍
I love this game so much. The conversation around publishers is often very critical. It's good to see the people behind the games and how hard they work to bring us joy.
This was an excellent video series! I learned so much about the industry and really respect the effort and passion CGE puts into their games for the hobby! (I wish other companies did as much systematic playtesting.) thank you for video!
Nice video! In the video there ist a sequence, where the first expansion was playtested on boardgamearena. Is there a possibility, that it will be published for public on boardgamearena as well?
Great series. I was especially excited when I saw Starship Captains because I hoping to hear a hint toward a much desired expansion! But I didn't see such a hint...
Great series, Eleni! I don't know what you could do to top it. Perhaps you could follow them over the course of designing their next game, to give us a closer perspective of the design process? On the other hand, I don't know if they would want a record of all of their false starts and dead end paths. Nevertheless, I think it could be fun to watch, and I'm sure you could turn it into a compelling video/series of videos.
Thanks so much Rodger! I’m very glad you enjoyed it ☺️ I like your suggestion for what content you’d like to see next, we definitely want to do more videos around the design process!
Thomas looks like the captain... anyway, CGE made two of my favourite games, Arnak and Codenames, even though these games are totally different. Keep up the good work!
You mentioned play testing the Leaders expansion on Board Game Arena. Will that Expansion ever be available to the public on the platform? Such a fun game and I really enjoy playing it.
WOW! What an excellent web documentary series. The production values are very visible and it must have taken a lot of work. I didn't expect something like this to be made here in the Czech Republic, and I'm even more pleased about it. Definitely two thumbs up for that. Hopefully, other board game publishers will be inspired by this gem. But, and here I must apologize in advance that this is going to be a really big BUT. Ever since the episodes with Codenames, which was a really big turning point for CGE, I have the impression that the original CGE is kind of... fading away? Of course, Codenames was a huge success, which I wish CGE very much. It's amazing that something like this has been achieved. But with this new financial freedom, it seems to me that CGE has since been developing games that before this turning point maybe wouldn't have had a chance, or more would have been required of them. I often come across games from CGE that are a little bit weird (That's a Question!, Letter Jam, Trapwords, Adrenaline, Deal with the Devil) or look really good at first glance (rules, graphics) but after I played them 2-3 times I put them away and have no reason to return to them (Sanctum, Arnak). Just games that are not exactly a must have titles on the market. Just my subjective impression of these games. Also, towards the end of the series, it seemed to me that lately in CGE, games have been released as a reward for the developers/employees themselves. Or developing board game remakes for smart devices for sooooo long? I have nothing against that. Again, just my subjective impression, but I found it odd. I haven't had a chance to play the latest game Kutná Hora: The City of Silver yet (that itself already indicates something), but I hope it's a really good game and hopefully I'll get to it soon :-) These are just my thoughts that I needed to sort out after the end of this magnificent series. I look forward to more video content of this quality.
I don't know when you started recognizing CGE, but we were always doing "a little bit weird" games. Before Codenames it was for example Space Alert, Bunny Bunny Moose Moose, 20th Century, Travel Blog, Goblins Inc. As for Arnak, you are more an exception as it is by far our 2nd most succesfull game, for many people it is must have title. And we were always doing games which we enjoyed to work on and play, and that's still the case today. The biggest difference now is that at the very beginning it was just about the taste of four founders while now it is about taste of over 20 people...
@@murmak2 As I wrote, that's how I feel about it, and that's always subjective. I started to recognize CGE right from the start. League of Six was a fun game. After that, Galaxy Trucker, Dungeon Lords, Dungeon Petz were all good games. Tzolk'in was amazing. But the last game with "CGE feel" was for me Pulsar 2849. Or maybe Under Falling Skies. But this game has been sitting on my shelf for the past few years. I really enjoyed it at some testing event but haven't had time to open it since I got it. I need to fix that as soon as possible. But I hope that the latest game Kutna Hora will be a blast🙂
There have been very good games since Codenames, the best are the ones featured in past videos, but I will agree that since Vlaada stopped making games, there's been a decline in design overall.
🎉And here's the rest of the episodes : bit.ly/3tUEjt6

Aww thank you so much! 😊 🫶 There’s definitely more videos to come around our design/production processes and our games!
Such a great series....well produced and very informative. It shows how much care CGE puts into everything they do (even documentary videos)! Bravo!
