Yeah, we love to have a mix of cheaper street food, and more traditional local food, and also the fancier restaurant food. If you check out some of our other videos we do plenty of street food tours and have loads of traditional local food! 😀
Next time try the family-style Vietnamese dishes. The ultimate food Vietnam is famous for is live seafood. Ask the hotel clerks, and they should give their recommendations.
Thanks for the advice - we’ve never thought of asking the hotel clerks so we’ll definitely do that next time! We have done plenty of local restaurants whilst in Vietnam. We love the cheap local restaurants, but we also like throwing in some fancier places (Grant is very tall and gets cramp sitting on the tiny red plastic chairs 😂)
I love how loaded and huge that banh mi is. Yummo! Food all looked great, but yeah, the hotpot...LOL! Was it Korean hotpot? Typically with hotpot, you wait until the broth boils and toss in your meats and veggies. Veggies shouldn't take long to cook, but the meat, it depends. Seafood cooks quickly so watch it well and if you don't want tough beef, then just dunk it until desired doneness. You can scoop out some of the broth to eat it with. There's usually a ton of dips to dip the various veggies and meats in. Regarding the tongs, doesn't really matter as you can always dunk it in the boiling broth to kill off any possible thing that may harm you. Just watch the tables around you and see what they do, or ask them if the servers and such aren't able to explain properly in English.
The Banh mi was honestly amazing 😍 According to Google I think it was a Chinese hotpot. Are Korean hotpots very different? Thanks for the advice - we’ll definitely be better prepared next time! Yeah we were trying to copy other people but the timing of how long to cook things was the hardest bit (the server told me 2 minutes to cook all that raw meat and fish other than the ribs that were 5 minutes - not sure if there was a misunderstanding because that doesn’t seem nearly long enough!) There was quite a few times I bit into some meat only to realise it was still raw in the middle and then having to cook it more!
@@nocancelcultureaccepted9316 You'd be more appealing if you spent your time in videos of countries that agree with your views/perspective. After a year or so of making the same ol' comments, you've become boring. Make new comments. Use that one brain cell you have to say something clever for once.
Its help if you do a little bit of research before trying all these foods to be able to enjoy them. Haidilao famous hot pot chain restaurants througout southeast asia. When ordering stick to what you're familiar with. just throw everything inside the soup and you'll be able to enjoy it after a couple of minutes. Thanks for the vid...
They spent two weeks in vietnam and act like experts , recommending food and all like if they were able to compare. There are people who are living there who make way better vids as they have more experience with the city. And coming to an asian country and complaining people don't speak english 😂😂😂😂 🤦♂️
Hey, we’re so sorry you feel like this after watching our vlogs. In no way do we see ourselves as experts. We make vlogs to document our experiences and recommend things we enjoyed that we think others might enjoy too. We’re not trying to pass ourselves off as locals who’ve lived in Vietnam for years, and if people would rather take advice from locals we understand that (we personally seek out advice from both tourists and locals before travelling somewhere). At no point have we complained about people not speaking English - apologies if our point (after we’d had quite a few cocktails) wasn’t clear enough that you misinterpreted it. We have had the best three months ever in Vietnam, we are currently on our second trip here at the moment as we love it so much. We hope you continue to watch our vlogs and maybe it will change your opinion 🙃
So the only authentic Vietnamese food you had tried is the Banh My, for the rest you just went to tourist restaurants and expats bars.🤷♂ Sorry but not a really helpful video, imo. Not a single street food restaurant in 2 weeks
We’re really sorry you didn’t like this video and didn’t find it helpful. We have eaten lots of street food and eaten at lots of local restaurants during our 3 months in Vietnam (some of which have been absolutely spectacular). We didn’t include any street food in this video, as this is a video purely about bars and restaurants in Saigon. Our very next video, for example, is a food tour where we eat at local restaurants outside of district 1. Generally when we’re in smaller places we do more street food and local food, and in bigger cities we take advantage of the opportunity to eat in fancier restaurants and go to rooftop bars etc. We’d love it if you watched more of our videos but if that’s not your thing then that’s absolutely fine 😀
Y’all live like a millionaire. It’s so awesome. Thanks 4 sharing.👍😳
There are a lot of people who love to see Vietnamese street food ❤❤🎉❤

The food would be more appealing if the Vietnamese practiced food safety and sanitation.

Hadilao Hot Pot owner is a billionaire in Viet Nam.
His name is Cuong Dollar.
Search for it.
He has a Bently and few Lamborghinis.
We went at 1am and it was completely full, so that doesn’t surprise - it must be very popular!

Phút 8.22, lúc cô gái bước xuống, cứ như đang xem bộ phim mà nhân vật nữ chính xuất hiện trong buổi tiệc ấy, đẹp thật.
Thank you so much 😊
