Gorbad is still known in the Empire today, centuries after his defeat. Not only among nobles or scholars or the military, but down to the lowliest historically uneducated commoner. To the point that mothers invoke his name to frighten their children into obedience. Whenever the Elector Counts hear that an orc warlord is amassing an army in the Badlands, what fills them with fear isn't whatever dime a dozen account of orc cruelty committed by that particular warlord, but the ever present fear that another Gorbad could be on the way.
Dude, the Greenskins are what makes the Warhammer World funny. Giant Cockney green hooligans that just love to drink and fight. They're not really evil, they don't have any real goals: they just love to punch shit in the face.

Yess Gorbad! I was just reading my old Orc army books, the only thing you didn’t mention is that Gnarla is described as being an “explosively flatulent boar”. That is all. More orcs!

haha yes i believe you are correct there! Gorbad has a whole page, his axe with the chain is so badass imo. NO idea how they'd put him in TW:W tho

I re-read his lore after watching the video, and yeah, he seems to be an amazing Warboss, I look forward to the other videos. That reminds me, watching series of orc campaigns in TW Warhammer, do you know what's in the top of the head of some of the boyz, and most of the savage orcs, where when long enough they form the top knot? I mean, supposedly they have no hair, but it sure does seem like it is hair.
For the ASF thing, maybe give elves a small melee attack buff when they first enter combat? or as they charge?
Could work nicely with martial prowess, exaggerating high elves short-term advantage in melee engagements and working nicely with Dark Elf's aggressive melee theme.
Kinda like an opposite norsca buff.

Maybe a total war warhammer rule where each model makes the first attack against them miss could be their version of always strike first? The units would be a lot more likely to get the first hit with that at least.
i'm just not sure if it works like that in the scope of calculating those hits and charges
Make Gnarla a Giant Squig sized mount. Also give him a Wyvern
Once the Dark Lands are added. Grimgor can be sent to his lore accurate starting location.
And Gorbad can be put in charge of Black Crag.
Gorbad might be a badass, but Grimgor iz da Best, so of course he will fall in line, just like Azhag.
finally... the orcs come from across the mountains!

Maybe Gorbads role would be a supportish melee LL , so he can be greenskinns Thorgrim where he has a bigger leadership aura and can buff the melee attack of people around him riding around on his boar or something.
that's what i was thinking but didn't really voice it because i don't know the greenskin roster enough to know if there isn't something like that present :( i really ... don't like playing the greenskins hahaha

I fear we will not be allowed to play with them, only against them. But imagin if we could use them in "the labritorie" or in vs battel or maybe we could get them as pets by completing quests. aaarrrgghhh donuts.
ashame he didn't show up in total war games but I guess they wouldn't have been able to give him enough unique mechanics compared to grom. Hopefully he's in the new tabletop for old world tho
To each their own. It's ashame you don't enjoy the greenskins. I LOVE them. They always give me a good laugh and I just love the style of their craftsmanship if others would call it that. Their might makes right playstyle echos throughout everything I play which is why I love playing them and the ogres so much. I have other favorites in warhammer true but greenskins will always be my all time favorite front and center.

I have to say you hurt my Warhammer fanboy there... I love Chaos and every faction/lore behind it, but the Greenskins are freaking awesome. How can you not love them :P?
They are all about smash hard and stab hard.
However if CA would add in anything in regards of Lords, Add Black Ork Big Boss, River Trolls and freaking Black Orks with one-handed weapons and shields. That is all CA. :P
Oooh yeah and Gorbad would be amazing to have in for the Greenskins however, Grimgor beats everyone though in regards of being Daa´est, he can headbut people to death, be that either troll, rat ogre or chaos chosen. :P
Gorbad would be a neat buffer for Boar boys in general if you ask me, Gorbad was the leader type of shorts while Grimgor is all about smashing and taking glory for his own image.
All in all you can say the same thing about the Beastmen really, like Gorthor the Cruel / Most favored Beastlord to have ever been around.

They already gave Grimgor that campaign effect in regards to Fightiness plus movement speed for all characters, they should basically make Gorbad a all around leadership / army focused Lord while also giving him bad ass melee stats (Maybe anti-large option?) and that's a really cool idea with the feral wyverns yeah. :D

I think that they could make Gorbad mange to stand out without having him be a repeat of Azhag.
Though I do think that they could give Gorbad similar buffs to Azhag's Earthshaking Orders skills, but expand upon that to be more all around buffs for his army, and maybe even any WAAAGH! armies that show up and follow him.
And he should either get a special skill or banner that buffs all Boar Boyz units in his army because he was supposed to have had a "bodyguard" of the biggest, most heavily armed armored Boar Boyz possibly known as Gorbad's Boar Boyz.
But I do think that the could possibly rework how some of the Greenskin legendary lords abilities work. Like Wurrzag's Bonewood Staff ability. That ability should activate when he engages in melee instead of when casting. That would just fit far better in with him being a damn SAVAGE ORC WARBOSS/SHAMAN!
And I think that they could do something similar with Gorbad's Da Great Leada, with it being activated when Gorbad goes into melee or something else. But I'd be ok if it was just s special skill that buffs the leadership bonus and size of his command aura. Though I think it could also work as a large buff to most of the stats of units surround Gorbad as well.

I want Gorbad so much. I dont like any of the current Orc lords. Grimgor got a cool lore, but he is too puny and weak. He need some buff.
Do you guys think ASF needs to be a combat ability? Maybe his army could have Lightning Strike or something like that right out the gate, or would that be too OP?
well that would mean that the entire elven race would have lightning strike.. which would imply more of an ambush or speed of deployment.. but ASF was supposed to echo the sentiment that WH elves are extremely fast because they hone their weapon skills across centuries. in TT, elf units were so terrifying because they would hit you for a LOT of hits right out the gate- it's how they countered their low "strength" stat
What about a negative charge bonus then? When a unit with ASF enters combat they give a 3-5 second debuff to enemy weapon damage. This would give CA the flexibility to make wood elves into squishy skirmishers and high elves into a more sturdy regimental army without having to give the high elves tons of armor and health.

Gorbad seems a perfect fit for an anti-large (coz ‘eez a big ‘un!), leadership-and-attack-buffing (coz ‘eez da gratest leada’!) legendary lord for the Greenskins! And in campaign, he could be wonderful as a big-‘un-centric lord! I want him in the game so (Gor)bad!
Plus, he could facilitate some lore-friendly rearranging of LL start-positions: Grimgor should start up where the Red Eye is in Karak Ungor, and Azhag should start somewhere in or near Troll Country. And then Gorbad can take the spot vacated at Black Crag, beginning with the mission to reclaim his famous redoubt: da impenatrabul Iron Rock!

Well, there aren't really many. The ones they have now, they took from Chaos, since Norsca isn't a faction in the original game... :)

Now i dont Think valkia the bloody is gonna come before the 3rd game, But she definetly have strong norsca ties, + she Got the whole valkyrie thing going

Da bossman! - I love everything about the Orcs, both in 40k and fantasy, but.. I hate their playstyle in both games :( In Fantasy they're just.. Too damn cowardly! I just want to smash and stomp! In 40k it's just.. Too chaotic for me to handle, I need my soldiers to stay disciplined xD
i miss the ..... 6th edition? rule in 40k where Orks could mob up. i actually started an ork army because of it. i thought it was SO cool
I dont get why CA dosnt add almost every lord from warhammer to the game?? Isnt it like small work to remodel face and some armor and weapons for them...
well there are some outright shitty lords that aren't cool... which i would have put helman ghorst in that category, but i'm sure they have tow orry about certain things here and there.. also! you have to leave SOMETHING for the modding community ;)

Each lord needs battle and campaign mechanics unique to their faction. Nowadays they also need unique starting locations. All of these require playtesting. Adding a new LL is more expensive than adding a new unit.
Would be nice to have them, though.
@DA FQ?!? - adding new legendary lords isn’t necessarily cheap. They are all highly detailed models, voice-acted with quest chains and quest battles, sometimes unique cutscenes, along with the other stuff already mentioned.
I honestly don’t know how much each lord costs, but I wouldn’t be so sure that they’re very cheap to make. That said, I would absolutely love to see them add loads more legendary lords, like Gorbad and Ghorros and Nystra+Arahan!

Rome 2 would have gotten flamed even harder by history nerds if Roman infantry blocks didn't have their banners and centurions. Very odd it's not represented in warhammer.
