Definitely March Flys. I always take a fly veil in my pack when hiking in the Vic high Country between Dec and May👍
Haha always the March Flys! I don't own a fly veil might be a good investment to make!
@@settohike I would commit hari kari with a hiking pole if I did not have a head net to ward off the insects in the Vic. and NSW high country in the green season. Easter is not so bad for March flies though. The trek out to O Keefe's hut in the KNP in NSW was just wrong for March Flies in Jan. one year. :-0.Give the Diamantina spur a go if you like big hills. Champion Spur was traumatic. It went straight down off the Razorback to Harrietville . No zig zags or switchbacks.
Really enjoyed watching that well put together video, you cannot beat that feeling of being out there in the wilderness.
Thank you so much! Hiking definitely becomes addictive! 🙂
Beautifully shot and edited, Set to Hike! Thank you so much. I walked that track for my Year 11 camp and have never forgotten it.
Did feather top as a day hike it’s got the feel of a true mountain unlike any other in Vic outside from maybe the Crosscut Saw
Yeah it's funny how even though Mt Bogong has the status of being the tallest in VIC that Feathertop is probably the favourite due to the time above the tree line.
Really good video ! Nice editing, footage and quality overall :)
the slo mo and soft music in the next morning intro made me smile 😊😊😊
Yay! I am glad 🙂🙂
Nice to see the wildflowers
Beautiful landscape and thank you !
Beautiful views. Great day to get outside for some fresh air. Hope you had fun. Thanks for sharing!
Leaving a like to support your video and channel 👍🏽
Good choice of lunch as well haha
We were certainly lucky with the weather! Thank you for your support! Haha lunch is always the hardest to pick on a hike for me! 😋
Such lovely landscapes!
Amazing video! I'm inspired :D
a great hike but try in autumn or early spring...less bugs
Haha yeah the normal bugs weren’t too much of a worry just the March flies. A hint of snow would be nice to see though!
Great video! Your editing is REALLY good! Might have to add this trek to my "Hikes to do" :)
Thank you!! 😊😊 haha yes it should be on that list for sure! Something tells me the list grows faster than what we can cross off 😛
Greetings from Washington state. So cool to see this side of the world
Greetings back from Australia! So cool to have people like yourself watching from afar! :)
Love this hike! You captured it beautifully and scored with the weather too for maxing the views. 👍
Thank you! I still cant get over the blue skies and hardly any breeze on the summit! I seam to have bad luck with rain on hikes so I was very greatful!!
Looks amazing
Definitely on my to do list mt Featherstone
Put it high on your list! 😀😀
Love seeing you out there hiking as always 😊😊
Thank youuuu. Its technically been a couple of months now since my last multiday hike, due for another soon!! 🙂🙂
Very nice video
Thank you!! 😊 🙂
Not Many people come up the Northern Razorback to the summit from Stoney Tops 4 WD track. In good weather that is a must do trek. There is a good camp site near the seasonal closure gate. BYO water.
Hi Hayley see you at the top, great journey, never stop climbing, the views do speak wonders don't they 🥰🥰👍👍
Hello! 😊 it sure was spectacular! Happy adventures to you!!
hayley short and sweet....

peace mick
haha thanks Mick!! 🙂🙂Luckily editing is my favourite part!!
Love it! Always a good day when there's a new S2H video to enjoy 😁
Haha awww thanks Amy! 😊😊
Amazing! Love hiking Razorback (although it's been over 10yrs now!) 😭😂 And what a ripper few days for it too! That cloud floating above and casting a shadow over the smaller mountain (ok, hill! 😂) looked awesome (5:54). Love so many of your video shots (like through the shrubs and the flowers etc.), wonderful videography Hayley, such a great video to watch. I'm with Matt on the Subway meal... not appealing at all! 😂 Thanks for another great hike 😉
Thanks you!! I think you are due for another trip on this track if its been over 10 years! 😂 I loved that there was hardly any breeze on the summit! haha that cloud was a nice little feature!! For the record my subway was nice 😛 Matt's got more squished then mine and his started leaking halfway through the day! Thank you as always for your lovely comments 😊😊
Very enjoyable 'refresher' that reminds me clearly of the last walk to Feathertop in 2009, albeit the last 4km return walk in a blizzard/white-out, then finding it was 33°c down in Bright!! One thing you should have pointed out is the availability of water, not really reliable from the tank, but plentiful in a soak/stream about 2km away en route the summit.
Glad I could refresh your memory! haha sounds like we had quite different weather! 33 would have been welcomed after a blizzard 😛 Yeah you make a good point about the water! Especially the amount of people that do the day hike as well. Thanks :)
Nice weather!
Yeah! Not even windy!! 😄
Another awesome video
Look cool 🎬Great job 👍👍👍A really great tour. We like to give it a
thumbs up! Have a great day and best regards Up'n'Down-Traveling
Thank you!! 😀😀😀
Looks like a great short trek
It was!! Lots of day hikers and trail runners too! 🙂
Fantastic video as always. Looked like a pretty amazing trip. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I still couldn’t get over how nice the weather was 😊
Great video Hayley. We were at Fed Hut the day you posted this so you must have just beaten some pretty horrific weather that followed. Well timed.
Thank you! I seem to have pretty bad luck with weather normally so I am greatfull the hike was so great! 😊
Amazing! Going for an expedition there some time in June … any tips for that season! 😅
Looks incredible, Well done!
Thank you! 😊
10/10 love this video!
10/10 love this comment! 😀
Great video!
Dang, March flies exist there too?! They were such a pest on Kosciuszko 😖
thank you! haha they sure do! We can't escape!! 😮
How did the Durston tent do in the chilly weather? That was the 2P, right?
Correct! It actually got down to -2 that night and it held up perfectly fine! It also survived some crazy winds at Mt Bogong.
Great video
Thank you 😊
Beautiful vlog . Loved it. We are planning to go in December for a overnight, only if out of lockdown by then. How long did it take one way? Any tips and suggestion? We are beginners and it will be our first long hike.
Do March flies bite? They look like what we call horse flies here in the USA, and they do bite.
Yeah they do, I got bitten about 3 times trying to get those shots 😂 they must be very similar!
is it 7 hours one way? or there and back
There and back so either one big day or if you break it into two then 3-4 hours each day :)
