    I loved to hear what you had to say about prepping. Any channel that uses the word "HOARD" gets blocked by me.
    I always had extra and have seen us through bad weather, illness, injury, layoffs, unexpected expenses, unexpected guests, family, power outages, water outages, you name it. During the Big P, I went looking into why there were shortages and started prepping in earnest. Turkey breasts didn't go on sale until after Christmas last year, and never the year before in N.Central KY. We have ALWAYS bought on sale, looked for in-store clearances when they will not be carrying the product anymore. If they are something we eat or can see ourselves eating, we get it.
    I always vacuum-seal meats.
    I focused on meat and learned to pressure-can for that reason. I focused on grains, and ordered them before the big price jump, as well as herbs and spices, and I constantly add canned vegs.
    Bidets...I don't want to be wet. Pads, I agree, and I have my own because I am older and I sneeze. 'nuff said. I make wipes for my cat boxes with paper towels, vinegar, alcohol, peroxide and a few drops of Dawn. It wipes out all odors.
    You have meat cutters at Walmart? We don't.I heard that the company closed down all the cutters because they wanted to unionize some years ago.
    I wish you all the best. I liked what I heard here today.

      I absolutely agree with you and you have some great ideas as well! And yes, we still have meat cutters currently and if they go to the point, they don’t have them then I’ll have to use my small personal one that I have! But I buy a lot of my meat at Sam’s Club Most of the time when it comes to cutting down meat I have them do it! But I have had Walmart cut them down as well as my local Hy-Vee here in Missouri! Thank you so much

      @jillgott6567 That was because manufacturing plants, warehouses, and truckers were shut down. It had nothing to do with the importing problems.

      According to North Carolina State’s College of Natural Resources, manufacturers rely heavily on eucalyptus pulp IMPORTED from Brazil. Eucalyptus pulp contains short fibers that make toilet paper soft and absorbent.

      I completely agree and I always find out usually around September or October people will start doing things to make people panic by and I think it’s absolutely ridiculous. If you’re already prepping in the right fashion, then you don’t really have much to worry about when it comes to those things, yes you might run low on some thing or one item might be out of stock but soon when the items back in stock, something else is gonna be out it’s just a cycle and it’s always a supply and demand thing! The bottom line is I think people just need to stop worrying so much and start focusing! But youM!
      I will see a lot of preppers start coming out during September and October many times and start getting other people to panic and then next thing you know people are running to the stores because they’re either watching the news and they’re taking their lead from something other than themselves, and that seems to be a huge problem!

    I stock up on tp, pt, food, personal care. One of the alternative items I bought was a Peri Bottle. It is a great alternative to toilet tissue and for those of us who rent and can not attach a bidet to our toilet.
    It is better to go slow for one thing I have a bad back and live in a second floor apartment. Making numerous trips up and down is not what I want to do. By shopping, and stocking up slowly , i have less to carry.

      I definitely agree with you on that! When I used to live off the military base, I was on the fourth floor and dragging things from the bottom to the top floor especially Sam’s Club orders was a huge endeavor! Perry bottles were great as well. We definitely have one for each of us girls here at the house as well.

    If only those who panic shop would prepare sensibly the rest of the year, stores could keep an adequate supply. But they never learn.

    • @MissouriPrepper64052
      @MissouriPrepper64052  8 дней назад +2

      I completely agree with you! If everyone would stock up slowly but strategically and not panicked by your absolutely right, there’d be a lot more the stores and everyone would be able to stock up appropriately instead of those who go out and just wipe things clean because they panic and think they need to have everything so fast! I thought people would’ve learned from the great toilet paper crisis of 2020 but nope they’re still doing it anytime they hear there’s a strike or anything of that nature everybody runs and I don’t know why toilet paper seems to be the biggest thing that is on their list But they need to understand there’s alternative to toilet paper as well and if they stock up slowly overtime, they’ll have enough in there stockpile to maintain what they need versus going out and buying half the store toilet paper lol and toilet paper seems to be the ultimate Swiper item. I have no idea.

    We went with bidets 5 yrs ago due to my husband's condition. We live in a cold winter area, so heated seats were a must. Ok ok not a must, but I'm so happy I did.
    I got a whole beef a week ago, and now I have ZERO room for anything else in my freezers.

      Absolutely amazing and I bet it saves a lot on the toilet paper cost lol wonderful that you’ve got that much meat. Absolutely fantastic! We’re gonna work on ground beef, chicken, turkey, and just all the things meat wise!

      Have you thought of canning some of that meat? You will need a pressure canner and jars, but they are all reusable (except the lids). I can probably 95% of my meats after having freezers die twice and losing a LOT of mostly meat (thank goodness insurance covered most of the cost).

    Your mom found some great deals! I used to buy whole boneless pork loins and have them cut them into chopa and roasts. Same with whole or half boneless rib eyes when "sale" prices didn't cost as much as a down payment on a car 😵‍💫 😀 Something else that I found at Dollar Tree for $1.25 were some adult wash cloths. They are embedded with cleanser and don't require rinsing. There are 10/package. I just got them the other day, so I haven't tried them yet, but if I like them, I'll stock up. They will be good for those times you need to save water. We used something similar at the hospital once (trial use) and they worked very well for bed baths. But, of course, they decided they cost too much to use long-term (somewhat due to family taking them home). I think they did keep using them for a while in ICU/CCU.

    • @MissouriPrepper64052
      @MissouriPrepper64052  8 дней назад +1

      We also take the whole pork loins and cut them into three sections and make like a shredded pork out of them as well sometimes with barbecue sauce and put them on buns as loose meat barbecue sandwiches! The price of meat is crazy, especially for some cuts! There’s a RUclipsr called the butcher wizard you might be interested in watching that he teaches you how to cut your own meats and how to get it much cheaper than buying certain cuts of meat! The washcloth that you’re talking about has the cleanser in it the bath wipes from dollar tree I’ve never seen them at my store. Let me know if there good because I remember the bath wipes as well. They used to use it on my grandma when she was in hospice care!
