Draining Our Pond into Dry Well with Mitsubishi 630 Tractor

- For years we have been battling rainwater pooling on our farm. We have a low point on our farm that causes rainwater to collect, and it is right in a place that causes great risk to our cows. We accidently ran across the solution to this problem as we were trying to perform regular clean up in our corral. In this video we use our tractor with a loader and attached back blade to create a sloping grade to direct the excess rainwater into what we thought was just a varmint hole, but it ended up being a dry well that we created years ago when we needed fill material for our shop and then back filled it will rock from clearing our property surface of rock. Essentially, creating a dry well which happens to be in the perfect location for this problem. Come along with us as we stumble along with this solution and use our Mitsubishi Satoh Bull 630 tractor to work the land to the correct slope and grade. We also correct the placement of a gate to allow room for mulch in our cattle run.

Great job getting the water to drain in the rock chuck hole yeah you did a great job on the tractor Mike very proud of both of you.And the Grandkids help to very proud of you too.
Thank you. The kids had fun helping. 😉
That tractor is getting a good workout with that project.
@1110519546 Yes, it did, and it did a really good job.
@rockwallfarms208 Yeah, it does pretty good in all of that muck.
The funny thing is. I dont even know if that is good enough to get rid of those rock chucks.
Probably not but it was a good try. They are down there saying thanks for the drink lol.
@rockwallfarms208 Yeah, I agree a lot of tunnels down there for them to burrow in.
I guess we'll know in a bit if one pops up out of there. They should be waking up soon.
@rockwallfarms208 Yeah, I would agree they should be up soon.
Is the ground partially frozen?
Somewhat at that point we had been consistently getting temperatures in the 20's at night for awhile but day time temperatures were getting into the high 30's.
@@rockwallfarms208 might have to go back later in the spring with the back blade again to do more shaping.
Possibly we are also going to try and feed loose bales on there and see if we can't get some grass to grow from any seeds that don't get eaten.
@rockwallfarms208 that would help too! Just having it able to dry out will help!
