Liv Rook totally agree liv, you're so right. School focuses too much on grades, targets and academic subjects, totally unfair to all those brilliant kids who are fantastically creative and talented in ways that can't be measured. Not to mention all those kids who have all sorts of other issues to deal with such as poor mental health or caring for parents. Well done every young person who has survived their exams this year, no matter what yr grade. You are all very special, irreplaceable young people who will find yr own individual path in life, never forget this. By the way, I'm a teacher!! Xx

Minicat at least you’ll have the resources and the teachers will be aware of what is on the course/ exams, being in year 11 currently has been terrible as everyone is unaware with what was going to happen, bit of a mess tbf

I don't think this will be way harder. With the old system there ain't a D/C category (4) low C. It's neither a D (you fail) or a C (you passed)

I left school with not many c's and above at all. And now I'm going to uni for my law degree . Trust me everyone it's not as bad as it seems . Just sometimes can take a little longer

I don't know what happened for me, I got a band 4 for English language. Which was a shock for me and my teachers because I've always got band 7 and hit band 8 twice. So I'm sosososososo sad for that. But you did really well. Congrats x

I've had my GCSEs for years and never used them!! Colleges don't really care and work places prefer experience over education. You only need amazing results for A Level. I mean I got C in everything and I'm in a full time job earning a great amount. Exam results aren't everything but congrats on the ones you passed 💓

You did so good! I'm proud 💖 Intelligence comes in so many different forms, English was what I was strongest in and found it easy af. Put me on a dance floor or try and get me to act and I would be a mess, I'm just not smart in that area. Not blessed in that stuff at all!! You seem disheartened but you should be really proud of what you got, schools make it seem like only book subjects are important. If everyone was forced to take dance and drama I wonder how many would pass? Hope you enjoy sixth form x

It doesn't matter what grades you get,they don't determine who you are or how clever you are,it's what you do with those grades that count,just use this as a base to strive to achieve greatness
Congratulations!! I wish our school did dance sigh it seems so cool. I got 1 A*, 4 A's, 3 B's, and 3 C's, but hopefully it will change after 2 remarks! I used to score F's and E's in English Language and C's and D's in Lit at the begining of the year and this year I got 7's after i started giving a shit in January HAHA. I'm gonna study Psychology, Geography, and Product Design starting September, which I'm super excited about!! Good luck to anyone sitting GCSE's next year

Lucyx _xx my advice to you after I've jut collected mine is don't stress yourself out . Work you hardest in subjects that you are weaker you have still got a while till you sit them but if u have the opportunity to do extra lessons with teachers take them as they honestly do help . But just try your hardest and what ever happens happens but don't stress yourself out

Legit the last question, the 40 mark one, in English Language and literature is when you have to either write a description of a picture given to you on the question or a phrase given to you, and then the other test is a story that you have to do the same in lol

Omg just posted my GCSE results ahah and I got a D in English lit and lang but was 1 mark off a C !! How annoying I'm getting it remarked tho so hopping it will come back a C ! U did good be proud of urself xo

My sister got b's and c's and an A but she didn't pass her maths, so she had to have an interview with the six form cause it's at our school and they let her in x

Well done Sophie, especially on your dance and drama! Don't be too disappointed about your English grade as you have the opportunity to retake it like you said so I'm sure you'll pass it second time round! Not everyone excels at academic subjects and it sounds like you excel at dance and drama which I'm sure you'll make a career out of! x
Tbh when teachers say GCSE is the most important thing it's not if you don't get many it really doesn't matter. It doesn't mean your never gonna get a job my sisters friend failed so many but she started low in college and a couple year later she has a great job with great money ❤️

FreyaC woah you chose you options quite late🤔 I chose mine at the end of year 8 and I'm going into year 10 in September. Some of my close friends do drama and they really enjoy it! At the end of the day you do what you want to do🤷🏾 Idk if other secondary schools in the UK do this but we had the choice to change any of our options in the first month of year 9. I wasn't really enjoying citizenship so I quit that and went onto do P.E Vocational. And yep I have p.e 4 times a week 🙄😴😂

I take drama GCSE and it can be quite stressful but it's one of those subjects that if you do the work it's really hard to fail just as long as you do the work
Well done! You did so well and you should be proud of yourself. I failed English during my GCSE year with a D, did it for my first year of college and passed with an A! It helps not having the stress of all the other GCSE'S, and you know what to expect really. So keep smiling! You've done well!! Xx

Wouldn't worry too much, I got pretty similar grades and now at uni. I had to retake my maths GCSE which I retook at college, I've never revised for something so hard in my life and it was an incredible feeling to know I passed. Good luck with the future, focus on what you're passionate about and let your true talents shine through, just stay focused and you'll get there.
