17 Times The Simpsons Predicted the Future

Do The Simpsons writers have a crystal ball or something? Most of us have heard the jokes about The Simpsons predicting the future and writing storylines that end up happening in real life. If you haven’t heard of this, boy are you in for a wild ride. When we really look at all of the things this series seemed to know about before they happened, we’re getting shivers down our spines. Sure - some of these things could have been educated guesses or even coincidences, but back to back to back, this seems almost too coincidental. Not only did The Simpsons very accurately predict little things like Lady Gaga’s Superbowl halftime performance, the invention of FaceTime, and that infamous Game of Thrones ending, but they also seemed to know about some things that we could have used a heads up about. Did you know that they ran storylines about the US Ebola outbreak, Covid, and even a Donald Trump presidency years ahead of time? Yeah - we definitely should have benefited from some of those warnings. In fact, after watching this video, you may want to start watching The Simpsons through a different lens - things that seem like normal comedic storylines just might be prophecies that will show us what to expect in the future. It’s happened many times before, so we certainly have a feeling that it’s going to happen again. Are we the only ones who are a little scared to watch now? On the bright side, at least we know it’ll probably never go off the air, so we can keep up to date on what will happen in the future for as long as we need.

know people like to say The Simpsons predict a lot of things that's going to happen eventually. It sounds more like they know the plan not the actual future. Like they say with the Jetsons they had all that technology we didn't have the technology yet but apparently somebody already had that plan in effect. So the cartoon was just getting us accustomed and more acceptable for when it does happen. And look at us now technology has taken control of our lives just like the Jetsons You don't have to think for yourself computers doing everything for you.

I remember Being told in the 3rd grade in the 1960s during a school lesson on telephone communications telephone history and modern marvel and its future application to aid mankind was in 20 or 30 years be able to see the person on the other end speaking to you on a viewing screen like another modern marvel the Television. I'm holding that 3rd grade 1960s pre. "The Simpsons" shows prediction in my hand as I post this. We can see them on the other end as we veiw and speak and most assuredly they can view us too on a screen just like televisions as i was taught in the elementary school lesson. Some of the other uncanny predictions like Ted said on the Adventures of Bill and Ted. "Bill, strange things are afoot at the circle k."

Video phones have been part of sci-fi for decades before they finally became real. It's nothing unique to The Simpsons. I personally thought they'd never take off because who would want to answer the phone if the person who's calling is going to see what you're doing and wearing - or not wearing!
