MY THOUGHTS ON THE GAME:
What Agents of Mayhem (AOM) does best is take the humor and lightheartedness of Saints Row 3 and 4, and copy and paste it onto AOM. That is of course, if you like Saints Row (SR) 3 and 4. There are many, who only like the first 2 Saints Row for its much grittier approach. And rightfully so, the first two SR's are classics in their genre. For me, the game is never quite as funny as SR4. The characters are certainly interesting, and the best story elements in the game are certainly the small vignettes you get of each character briefly showing us their backgrounds. The main story itself, however, is extremely forgettable and of no consequence.
The gameplay is fluid and fun but can get tedious because of the lack of variety in missions. Luckily, each agent is unique and brings different abilities to the table. It's loads of fun learning each character and mastering their techniques. In that way AOM reminds me of Overwatch with its colorful characters and varying abilities. It also helps that you are able to select 3 characters at a time, so it's exciting trying different combinations to see what works best on different missions. The problem is that missions lack variety and get repetitive. The driving is almost of no consequence and no real challenge. No real difference in how car handles and giant indicators baby you to your next objective.
All in all the saving grace of the game is its characters. While not nearly as funny as SR3 or SR4, it's characters still shine through. For a fan of the SR series, I would give it a 7/10. For newcomers, I would only score it a 6.5/10. There's just not enough there to keep you coming back. The game isn't horrible by any means, but feels like it needed more to really shine

BigBoss7007 it's set in the same universe and is made by the the same studio, But it is not a typical saints row game. I still like it.
Actually it's an *ALTERNATE* universe based off of one of the Gat Outta Hell endings. The one where the earth is remade by God himself (yeah you heard right, Christianity is 100% canon in these games. LOL.) but the Saints never come to be. Some other things must have (obviously) changed too though. I mean... Johnny Gat is a cop in Seoul, South Korea now.

1 i love this and in my mind only makes the saints rows better since the whole point of the games were to make fun of other games. such as saints row was making fun of GTA then saints row 4 made fun of super hero games and this one is not only making fun of overwatch and other games like it but is making me laugh at it being pure satire like the whole saints row games are satire. Persephone is totally based off the female boss from Saints Row.
All my playthroughs since The Third in 2011 I designed my character like Persephone, even used Latin voice, yet she didn't exist until 2017...
Likewise she's an interesting character to lead MAYHEM. I know this was a cash grab but hopefully they'll be incorporated into Saints Row 6. The developers explained their would be roles as gangsters, agents, and heroes.
I genuinely wanted this game to quench my thirst for Avengers before it released. Was not impressed by the single player style, and lack of world building or activities besides "super-heroing". Apart from the experience, the style and comics are quite novel and resembled the 90's/00's X-Men and GI Joe. Would like to see more from this genre, but for now 3, 4, Gat out of Hell, and AOM make for a surprisingly great epic.

who’s idea was this to make this single player? that and that alone made this game a game that people stopped playing after three hours of gameplay saints row is the most fun when you’re playing with multi player so why would they make a saints row overwatch title the single player when overwatch is the best team battle and then the story is about team versus team all the potential this IP had they flush down the toilet instantly

I liked the game... I mean I'm not happy I paid full-price for it but it was fun. I have some pretty big criticisms for it though.
*The 3-man team approach is cool, but story-wise it's pretty pointless. The only one who ever speaks is the primary selected character, when it's shown that other characters ARE capable of communication whilst 'stowed away.' Missed chances for some character banter during the chat scenes. And, WHY are they stowed away to begin with? It'd be way more awesome to see my trio all kicking ass together!
*Seoul looks good, but feels wicked small. And when you're mostly limited to ground level traversal, save some creative jumpery, you don't have much opportunity to admire how good the city looks. And even then, with the world being so small, the city also starts looking kind of same-y, and it doesn't take long before you're feeling kind of compacted.
*The lairs look cool, but they're so dull and almost identical, and after your third lair you're already getting bored of them. Operation: Mad House changes it up a bit, but beyond that, you see one dungeon, you seen 'em all..
*Preeetty sure randomly-generated loot boxes in an explicitly singleplayer game is a cardinal sin.
*Someone call an exterminator, because, sweet JESUS, all the bugs I've come across!
As it is, I really can't recommend the game. It's funny, it looks great, and plays good, but there's technical problems that just don't make it really worth the price.

The fact this game doesn’t have a weather system for rain or lightning / thunder is truly disappointing. I feel they could’ve added that in. Maybe modders could do something in the future. While I was playing this I felt like something from the old games was missing, and I figured out it was something as simple as that. Otherwise decent experience

People saying it's not Saints Row but...it kind of is.. lol, this game is basically just the sequel to the Recreate Earth ending of Gat Outta Hell, and yes that's a fact stated by the developers. It's Saints Row, without having Saints Row in the title.
Also, it would have been pretty cool if toward the end when the dude was fucking with reality, he punched a hole or multiple holes into different realities, causing Saints Row characters from different versions of the Saints Row universe to spill and form a massive battle. Or something, idk. Ending just looked kind of boring, hell, he even made a direct reference to being able to interact with the multiverse, just nothing came of it :/

This is disappointing i expected more from the company that made saints row,
Where is the progression i want home base to change according to story progression and how i play even small things a poster on a wall a robot head on a table or some construction going on and slowly gets built into something a statue from saints row 2 would have been a nice homage,
what i don't want is delayed conversations based on how far i am from the next waypoint marker,
These voice actors are all over the place with their emotions sometimes it makes for good immersion but other times it feels so out of place,
There's no fun in what is happening and the fun that's their is forced and over the top, If i tbag an enemy or civilian no one says anything, its unimpressive if i find a creative way to kill someone or a fun way to accomplish my goal the character does not react in any way no unique dialog no funny animation or visual effect.

Maybe because the world has been modified not brought back the way it was before SR4. The 3rd Street Saints are gone, characters like Oleg and Pierce have different names so other might too. It could be possible either way.

Kingpin is Pierce... Safeword is Kinzie... Johnny Gat is.. well Johnny Gat... and Agent Joule is likely Luz (angelo's fiance from SR1)... Hollywood is likely the boss as he is the face of agents of mayhem.... persephone is probably a merger of the dewynters as she is a excellent strategist and good at gathering intel..

People who complain so much about this game being a bad saints row game and shit, THIS IS NOT A SAINTS ROW GAME. it has a similar feel/gameplay to a saints row game and is made by the same developers but its not saints row 6 or "overwatch 2" just because of the style of the game. Its a good game because it's beautiful and its FUN. I dont play games because of "lore" or "how its not similar to the last game" or shit like that. If the game is fun thats good enough for me.
