I enjoyed a vacation trip sometime ago to an Monterey Bay and this was the 1st time I heard her Angelic voice over the loud speaker pumping it out. I remember just feezing in my tracks and asking employee's who worked there "who is this playing"? I asked so many questions trying to find out who this artist was. They directed me to the gift shop and indicated maybe I would find the music there. To my JOY they had quite a few of her CD's and I was over joyed and the rest is history. I will always be thankful and in gratitude that Enya shares her voice, her vision and stories of love and peace. Thank you so much Enya! Many blessed accalaides to your successful 35th Anniversary! Of my many years in the Navy I listened to you. I was deployed when 9/11 happened and it was so rough being away from home and not be able to defend the homeland. I wish you could know how much your music meant to me during my time away from the U.S. I usually just have the "I will be home in the good USA again in 6 months and the time flies but that deployment was very rough being all those miles from home and the U.S. being attacked. You made the deployment very bearable. I listened during the day and even put on the headphones to your music at night on replay so it would still be playing when I woke to ho on watch. Thank you very very much beautiful lady. 😊
It is the album that forever changed my view of what music could be. I discovered the cassette album in a bin. Took it home and sat on my bed completely in a trance. I had never heard anything so powerful and majestic in my life. I immediately began hunting her music down, but could only find her Celts album (as it had been the only album released at the time). Enya really inspired me to make my own music and has had a profound impact on my life in so many ways. I was fortunate enough to study for my Masters degree at University of Dublin, Trinity, and during my studies, went to Gweedore to visit the family pub. Enya's family (esp. her father, Leo) have always been so kind and welcoming when I've visisted through the years. Thank you Enya, Nicky and Roma for giving us such a beautiful gift.
yes! I was a dj in the 80s and would buy vinyl at this store in San Bernardino, California. Someone had returned the cassette and it was like two dollars in a bin. haha. I just bought it because I was vaguely familiar with Orinoco Flow. Little did I know I was in for the surprise of my life. @@jqbilbao
I'm a Metalhead buut.... The first time I heard "Orinoco Flow" it blew my mind. It was like, "Oh my God, who is this?" It was difficult to find the album in my country at that time, after I managed to buy it, each song was a unique experience. Thank you so much for the life soundtrack, Enya! I'm not a metalhead but I definitely go for rock music more than any other, especially when this released. I also had that "Who is this?" reaction as it reminded me of Clannad (who I liked) but it obviously wasn't them. Turns out that wasn't too far off. It was completely different to everything else in the charts at the time and the album blew me away

I fell in love with Enya's voice and music from the very first Album that had Orinoco Flow in it. I have since then listened to, and owned most of her albums. It was a constant companion in my youth and young adulthood. I would listen to it on my cd player, walk through life with her sound and voice, shaking me to my core. And later on when I walked from the train station to a job I had for 13 years, I would often watch the seasons go by as I walked the 30 minute walk to work. Spring, summer, fall and even the coldest winter. Often with Enya as companion.
We were never expecting such 'strange' and beautiful music, so brilliant, so different to hit us like that!!! Watermark and Enya dropped in our lives as a totally unexpected gift.

I remember the first time I listened to "Orinoco Flow". It was an absolutely disruptive song in the middle of an album full of music so different but at the same time so soothing for the soul. With the passing of time, I only wanted to do research about this special lady. 30 years later, she is still an enigma and her music continues to soothe my heart. I hope she can continue amazing us with more new music.

35 years… good grief. I remember hearing Orinoco Flow when I was leaving for school one morning. It was played on BBC breakfast TV. Watermark & Enya’s music became intertwined with my life, be that sad times or happier times.. She was always there, just a play button away.

Enya fue todo un acontecimiento al aparecer en mi vida, perfectamente recuerdo estar una noche estacionado y dentro del auto escuchando la radio, cambié las emisoras sin poner atención, y de repente sintonicé al azar una emisora en el preciso momento en que iniciaba "Orinoco Flow", desde sus primeras notas quedé hechizado sin poder creer lo que estaba escuchando, cerré todas las ventanas y subí el volumen para apreciar mejor aquellos sonidos rítmicos y misteriosos, acompañados de un delicioso ensamble vocal, cerré los ojos y en instantes me sentí trasportado al Cielo...¡Al fin!...Me identifiqué inmediatamente con aquella obra musical. I been a school boy, I was afraid about future, and as young lonely gay which grow in extremely homophobic family, I found so much love in HER VOICE 🥰 That's really supporting me, and gave me power to survive. Now I'm 46, have love, a house with a garden, and living far from the country, which I grow at.. I still listen to Enya, but now I'm at peace and calm. Thanks to the women, who have been my inspiration all this year...

I’ll never forget the 1st time I heard Enya. I was on a Chorus field trip in H.S. & my friend had me listen to her. I borrowed her Enya tape & never gave it back 😂. I’ve been obsessed since. I listen to her every day 💚🇮🇪
