• Unboxing Elvis: The Ma...
Hi Jamie and John love Elvis blue hawaii book look cool my friends
Thanks, Nigel!
"You gotta love the copious amounts of tape box pictures," said Jamie. Love it! I can imagine Jamie 'Scrooge McDucking" on a pile of tape boxes in his underground vault! 😃
LOL!!! As a huge fan of the old Ducktales cartoon, I love it! 😁
Thank you so much for this unboxing!!! This movie kicked started the love of Elvis Presley to a 5 year old me back in 1986. My grandma was a HUGE Elvis fan, and I remember the weekend visits and sleepovers at her house being filled with Elvis music and movies. I was all the time wanting to stay with my Mamaw so we could ha e our Elvis filled weekends. I wanted to buy this when it came out, but damn FTD makes a lot their products impossible for the average person to buy. FTD makes some AMAZING products, but they are hard to buy sometimes. Your unboxing allowed me to see these amazing books and I appreciate it so much. Thanks for keeping the love of Elvis alive!!! I'm so glad I found you RUclips!!!
You are SO very welcome! Yeah, these are pretty expensive, and it's a shame, because the info and pictures in them are wonderful!
And thank you for sharing those memories with us, too, we really appreciate that! And we're glad you found us, too!
Hello I have got this box set. Love the books , CDS and also is one of my favorite movies from Elvis. 👍❤️
Very cool, Mildred!
Just received this box set from Graceland on Monday. The books are beautiful and the sound quality on the CDs is amazing. If anyone still wants this, you have to call the shop, it's in their FAQs, as it's not listed on the website. They may still have the Making of Jailhouse Rock, as well. I received that one back in March.
Thanks for the great videos you guys do. From an Elvis fan since I was 3!
That's great info, thank you for sharing that! And so glad you're enjoying the channel! 😁
I've read that Hal Wallis made sure Elvis didn't gain weight. Read from the Elvis magazine(makers of the Elvis Files). I read in Elvis75 website news that the resort will be rebuilt as well. Angela Lansbury enjoyed working with Elvis as seen in youtube. Elvis like her Southern Twang. I've read in the Viva Las Vegas digibook blu ray that the studio has 10000 pics. So they have the wardrobe shots in storage. The director's probably have the pics from Wardrobe as well. Rewatching Blue Hawaii in 4k was a highlight in Australia's cold winter. The 4k und menu had a later pic Hawaiian Paradise style playing bongos was a big stuff up. Wish FTD sold this in 3 parts as Elvis fans aren't millionaires. Real shame the murderers have been brought to justice for the murders of the late Jenny Maxwell and her husband. There is a pod cast about it on Amazon. Thanks for showing😊 a dream book and giving a review👍
Hi, Henry! Thank you for telling us about that, we'll have to look into that podcast! And yeah, it'd be nice if these were reprinted in paperback so that more fans could afford them. Maybe someday - here's hoping!
Thank you for sharing this video it was so amazing
Thank you, Miranda! Glad you enjoyed it!
Would love it if FTD could/would do this sort of thing with ALL of Elvis’ music.
Now with the “Memphis” set out and released, it will be interesting how they will tackle the Stax sessions, either individually (Raised On Rock) or collectively. 😊
Yeah, it'll be interesting to see exactly what they do for future projects like this. I love the concept, even if I could do without edited CDs - and I'd like to see a cheaper paperback version.
hello i have this box set i love blue hawaii
Very cool, Adrian!
Congrats on 3k subs.well deserved
Shocking that there’s not thousands and thousands more!!! 😮
Thank you so much, Will!
Thank you, Frankie! It may take time, but we'll get there! 😁
Always been intrigued with the sessions of this soundtrack. Elvis really getting the best out of this material. Some great songs.
His voice in the early 60s is absolutely out of this world. Just got the sessions set. When can we expect part 2?? Thanks for the review of this release.
You're very welcome! Yeah, Elvis is in great form on these sessions, for sure! And Part 2 will be coming this Friday, so not too long of a wait at all!
Kauai... "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" 56:31 ... Sorry about that, John. I just couldn't resist the correction. My o.c.d. has been so bothersome lately. 😆😅
thanks for your review. One question, you said (and bet) about is the blue hawaii sessions box set wouldn't be edited. Are they??
Hello! Jamie here. Sadly, I won that bet; FTD went the lazy route and just put the same discs in their standalone sessions release.
what did you think of it
I love the books and the music sounds good! But the session audio on the CDs is edited, so that was pretty disappointing.
