It’s just a funny way the game works, it updates things in real time, enemies respawn fully when resting at a bench, and death warp/quit warp is utilized in speed running for this game. It will always return you to the last bench you rested at.
*Daughter also there is a Stag Station with a Bench near Traitor's Child, the game just automatically sets your last sat bench to Grey Mourner's if you're doing Delicate Flower quest
@@YeprilesteR Elderbug, Godseeker and Oro are the only ones who will accept the flower. There are a few other NPCs who won't accept it, but will still have unique dialogue for being offered one. Have fun looking for them!
Do you also think you are ignoring this approach because when you delivered the flower the first time, the game outwitted you and kept you near house? it just shouldn't have worked ever, but you just haven't tried it again, have you?

I know I’m a bit late but my guess is he already did the delicate flower mission and you can do back to the grave pick it up and then bench warp
I played through this game 5 times and only now I learn you can do this, I think a small part of me just died.

No joke I spent 3 and 1/2 hours doing this damn challenge just to discover you can skip the whole thing doing this.....
The first travel to the grave needs to be done properly, but yes, very annoying to discover for me too!

You can if you get it from the grave but only there. Grey mourner sets you to her bench when she gives you the flower

Rest at a bench. Don't rest anywhere else. When you quit and load back in you'll be put back at the bench
