This video made my day. You two are very funny. Thank you also for sharing your family tree lol
Thanks buddy! We love what we do!
Please thank Nathan and, your niece, for their service. The addition of the KC 10 was inspired. Great job.
Thank you Gene, I will pass that on...
Very nice Eric. Love putting the jet on it. Nathan will treasure it.
Thank you Tom, I hope so...
Great project. I’m sure he will be honored to receive it.
beautiful sign!
Thank you Linda...
Great flag thanks for the support for the veterans and great job can’t wait for my bit I got off you thanks again
Thank you for watching and for the business. Hope you like the bit, Eric
Love the resin finish... gonna have to get me some and try it myself. Thanks for the vids on this project
Love the resin finish. I'm kinda hooked on it.....
Amazing how that heat gun just makes that resin crystal clear! Beautiful sign guys!
I like it lots better than the torch. Always afraid I might catch my hair on fire, LOL....
Man that looks awesome. You are correct that is a KC10 it's the military version of a McDonald Douglas DC10. That would make any airman proud. Nice work!
Thanks Ben, 1 more video to go on this one. it will be posted tomorrow.
Very nice great job. That is way over my head
Not that hard, just take your time and give it a try.
Great job you two. When you did the Santa I was going to suggest a heat gun when your torch kept going out but forgot. Great idea with the tape. See ya Friday.
Thank you Steve, yea likin the gun better than the torch.
Looking good.. awesome thing to do for that lucky Dude. 👍🏼
Thank you, coming out nice so far.
Excellent my friend. Great idea 👍
Thank you buddy
Looking good, can't wait to see the end result on Friday.
Gonna be allot different, hope you like it...
Just bought one of your base plates for a Bosch Colt can't wait to get it in the mail thanks
Thank you Tim, we appreciate the business.
Having used this kind of Pour On mix epoxy in past projects. I can assure you the easiest way to mix to mix and level this out is using kitchen silicone mixing scrapers and in a glass bowl. And best rule of thumb to figure for half again as much more for the mix then what you thought was needed.
Thank you for the tips, I really appreciate it...
Excellent job as usual. And you and Vicki are such a great couple lol
Thank you!!!
Looking good, getting really good with the resin!
Thank you Bob, yea I'm lovin it more all the time.
Didn't realize you were planning to do the resin. Looking great.
Love the resin finish. I can't stop....
Beautiful... Glad to see you are using your heat gun.......
Much better than the torch....
absolutely love it
Thank you Mike....
Hey Eric, when I am doing epoxy on the cups I make, I have found that using the children’s medicine syringes work great for measuring accurately and they can be inserted right in the cap on the bottle by just drilling a hole for it to fit.
Thank you Donald, good idea, I'll remember that.
Brill job Eric. That heat gun works better then the blow torch..lol
Much Better....
Great job
Thank you Bobby
You can also use a rubber spatula to get everything out
Good idea! Thanks Gail
Looks really cool... Gotta admit the whole time, I was wondering who's Birthday it was... Thanks again for sharing!
Thank you for watching, glad you like it...
Auto parts store will have cups with measurements and are usually pretty cheap.
Great idea, thank you Gary....
Hi Dave,
Using a silicone spatula vs foam brush will work better. The foam absorbs a little of the resin and therefore you lose volume. Beautiful work.
I agree, this was a while back. Now we mostly use vinyl gloves and our hands. Thank you for watching and the kind words, Eric
Looks awesome! Can you post previous making this flag? Maybe a play list?
Thank you!!! I did 6 videos making this sign. #252-#257. You can find them all easily by using our channel search and type in the # and number. See this video (3:30 mark) to learn how to use the channel search. ruclips.net/video/VLxe9ydlyIY/видео.html
Nice
Thank you Terry...
Just subscribed. Great project
Thank you!!! You can email me directly if I can answer any questions for you, eric@makeawoodsign.com
Weighing it might no be the best idea if it says equal parts by volume. I did that mistake when I thought I was being smart, turned out equal weights are not equal volume due to the difference in density between the resin and the hardener.
Thank you, I aggre, we don't do that anymore....
Excelente 👏
Thank you!!!
That's a bit careless, Vicki. You put your finger right where you want Eric to point the heat gun. I guess it is good that he is slow to follow your directions.
Eric, when you put the cutout into the resin, I thought it was some sort of plastic model.
You might try a silicone spatula to reach into the tubs. Get your own; don't borrow one from the kitchen.
LOL, yea she was takin a chance there. Good idea on the spatula, gotta get some of those.
Is resin good for outdoor signs? or will it possibly yellow in the sunlight? I am doing a 3' x 5' sign for business to hang on their building's exterior wall and want to know the best way to treat the wood (Pine) for a long-lasting finish.
My understanding is that it won't stand up outside. Interior only. My go to exterior finish is ZAR polyurethane. I spray it with the critter gun.
Epoxy is not good for exterior use, if any moisture gets under it it will start to mold and peel off
