It’s a area of ancient history on the moors. There are other stone circles close in the area, with Doll Tor and another small circle near Robin hoods stride. Definitely worth a visit, I feel that peace and closeness with the ancestors when in these places. Thanks for watching Atb Mark
@@MarkTayloroutdoors thanks for the reply you have described that feeling exactly has i have . i once went to averbury circle one clear night and was smitten with these ancient sites ever since so when i get chance i take a motorbike trip to ancient monuments .😀
@@MarkTayloroutdoors oh yes no traffic jams and cheaper on the fuel though i did meet a old boy with his dog in a sidecar traveling around the country with the goal of visiting all the stone circles in the uk
@blinxxy1 yes you probably did 😊 Molly did chase a couple of times but not really aggressive, she will just chase if they run, otherwise she pretty much ignores them really
Ahh man absolutely brilliant Mark, loved the set up, grub, live music man epic. That looked a great group of people. Mint video, enjoyed this pal. Living the dream 👍🍺🕺⛺️. Cheers Dave
A great time up on Stanton moor for the solstice as always Dave. People from all walks of life, young and old, some more interested in the party than solstice lol but no trouble or drama. The music is great,I actually brought my own djembe last year inspired by the drum circle. Bottled bringing it to join in though 😂 Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Great video Mark. We did bump into each on the Solstice night and chatted about all things GW related. Hope you had a good time the atmosphere up there was great this year and the sunrise was magical. Hope to see you next year.
Ha awesome you remember to look for my channel 👍🏻 it was great to meet another GW fan and have a good chat about it 😎 It was a great atmosphere this year, but more chill, at least during midweek anyway. Definitely be going next year so will have to look out for you. Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Enjoyed the video bro and was good to see Steve had a wee cameo. Always interesting to see the different shelters and tents at these get togethers and how other celebrate this day, a Teepee with a solar panel made me giggle. Safe travels Ken
Yes it was great to see Steve, I thought he might have been staying up the coast. Definitely get all sorts of set ups, mostly badly put up tents 😂 that teepee was great, they had a big speaker set up as well lol Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching Atb Mark
Great vid. Looks like a really nice chilled atmosphere up there, with some cool vibes around those special stones....pure earth magic! Loved the camp cooking, damn those burgers looked good!! Glad you enjoyed the solstice experience, just one thing missing....the Djembe! See you soon dude.
The burgers were lovely, only took fresh food for day one though, rest was tinned lol It was a more chill atmosphere this year, I think with it being midweek it was more about solstice than raving 😁 I should have took djembe, I bottled it 😂 Thanks for for watching Atb Mark
@@MarkTayloroutdoors Any day of fresh camp grub works for me😋 and I think I prefer a laid back atmosphere these days…but next time don’t bottle it on the Djembe 😂
Always a great time on Stanton moor for the Solstice. I’ll be going north in a few weeks, another multi day hike with the lads again 😎 Enjoy the moors Daz mate Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Interesting I didn’t realise you got a crowd of people up there but of course you do. Built my own tipi back in the 70s and used to go to Stonehenge . Fond memories of those times. ATB 👍
People of all ages and from all walks of life Dave, some more into the solstice and some just to have a good time. I was impressed by that tipi, and I bet you gave some great memories of those days at stone henge Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Yes you certainly do mate, surprised you haven’t actually, it’s right up your street as well 👍🏻 Maybe see you next year? Or the next equinox or winter solstice that I keep saying I’m going to do again 😁 Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Were you there on the Saturday before? I went on the Sunday and came home on solstice day afternoon. Glad you had a great night as well Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Camp stupid is just a bed in the woods now, most has been taken down. I was happy Steve could make it as I thought he was chilling at the coast. Glad you enjoyed the video Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Mega mate. I was gonna go this year but couldnt. (I'm the guy you bumped into at the car park in Edale). Fishing barrow mate? Are you a carper as well?
It’s a great time at nine ladies, been going a few years now. Yes I go fishing as well, carp, float, feeder and badly at pike fishing 😂 I had no car this year for solstice so had to get everything up there in one trip so the carp barrow helped massively. Was great to talk in Edale, always nice to meet new people. Thanks for watching Atb Mark
It just happens, and has been happening for many years now. This was my 3rd summer solstice in a row and I really enjoy it. Thanks for watching Atb Mark
Is that a good wow or bad wow 😁 It attracts people from all walks of life, some more interested in the solstice like myself some go for the party. Not everything happening is ideal of course, but never any trouble and all mess is bagged and collected, some like myself take my own rubbish home. The rest is collected by the rangers 👍🏻
The dog loved it, great photo of her with tongue out at end.
She’s my loyal camping partner and comes everywhere with me, she loves the outdoors 😎
