It would be great if Janome included an extension table with this machine for professional sewing.

Looks like a great machine - Have you done any sewing on the Janome 1600p? Thoughts on the 1600P?

Hello Paul, I've just Purchased the HD9, with extra wide extension table & piping foot, for making piped box cushions, I've been using a friend's industrial Singer walking foot machine, I'm hoping the HD9 will be able to do as good job, I'm a furniture restorer, so do a certain amount of upholstery, anyway great video👍

Enjoyed watching your informative video. It seems that machine is a bit loud. Can you comment? Thank you.

Hi, I've have the Janome -New Home 2030 DC. It works great for light sewing but is not helpful with Bag sewing. Will your HD9 be the work horse I need for sewing bags with fabric such as vinyl, leather, thick foam interfacing? THANKS

howdy paul, thanks for the video. i have been hand sewing leather for a few years now and what to buy a machine. the industrial machine are just to big and cost to much. i live in san fran,ca and just called to a sewing machine sales company yesterday in the east bay about 45 min east of sf. the lady on the phone told me about the hd9 and said they cost in the ball park of 1,500.00 dollars. i have taken a few sewing classes which all i know about machine sewing.
i want it for wallets ,belts, tot bags, mostly light weight leather stuff. ok , enough of me talking . what do you think..
    thanks , rob

Hi Rob. This is a really easy machine to use, so minimal sewing experience is acceptable. This machine will certainly sew through light weight leather items, and even some heavier materials. In the video we sewed through 2 layers of 4-5 oz veg tanned leather, quite easily, while I would not recommend sewing through that every day, it is good to know it can handle it. And because it's portable this machine can be used anywhere! Keep an eye out for our upcoming videos with the HD-9!
