Originally Frederick and Nelson until insolvency in 1992. In 1994 this anchor became a Sears. Third floor downgraded in 2021 due to the 2018 bankruptcy. Used to have electronics, vacuum cleaners, appliances, tools, fitness equipment, sporting goods, grills, patio furniture, lawnmowers and garden tools on the 3rd floor of this Sears
@@bebespeaks7827 Sears Optical closed entirely Feb 1 2020 over terminated relationship with Sears by Luxoticca Retail. The Sears Portrait Studio operator CPI Corp went out of business so all photo studio locations closed 2013
I was at Sears a couple weeks ago in Braintree, MA. As you’d expect it was quite dead in there. My local Sears in Queens NY closed in 2017 and the last Sears closed in the New York Metropolitan Area back in March of this year in Jersey City NJ
I remember growing up going there getting clothing for school it's a shame to see all the big box stores going away and Sears is a part of Kmart it was bought out by the same owner bought out Sears and try to combine them together if he would have turned Kmart into like Walmart with groceries it would be still here in existence and it would be a big competitor against Walmart but he didn't do that he wasn't thinking and it's sad to see that
But if they perhaps eventually go to Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and/or even full liquidation and they fail to find another buyer then it's over. They will close entirely. Including this location (which also means all locations, with all remaining inventory also being sold online as well). Conn's HomePlus is going out of business due to bankruptcy and liquidation amid further declining sales from Badcock acquisition
Whittier, on the other hand, is in even worse shape than this Sears. The Whittwood Town Center location used to be The Broadway until conversion to Macy's. The store became a Sears in 1996. Used to be 3 floors but now only 1. The first floor is very limited on merchandise and all floors above are closed there. Definitely the same page as Fry's Electronics we visited when the store shelves was empty. The website, brand name of Sears as well as intellectual property could be sold at any time which we hope another buyer comes along and purchases from Transform Holdco. Even Sears Canada. Which is what happened to Montgomery Ward's, Ames Department Stores, Orchard / Outdoor Supply Hardware and so forth. And Also, since Macy's is struggling and closing 150 stores for 2 years, would it be possible for you to do a walk thru of the Macy's store (fmr. The Bon Marche) here at the Westfield South Center Mall ?
I didn't know there were sears stores still open 😮 I miss them and kmart
I'm blown away there are sears stores still open like I remembered our old one down here shut down many years ago 😳
Exactly my point!
@@bebespeaks7827 hell the old sears oil change section is still there but it's empty other than a old dusty forklift in it
Like completely gutted out just concrete n walls n nothing else
Frederick and Nelson / Sears walk through at Westfield Southcenter Mall (south of Seattle)
Correct.

LOL you're just a fountain of Sears knowledge!

Yeah the KMart near me became a Target Canada. That didn't last long. Now it's a Walmart.
The last Kmart in my area closed in 2019. I never went to it, I barely knew it existed.
Stay tuned for Part 2 coming up on Saturday. The manager is purr Delulu that the store will be open for eternity.

Last time I saw a Sears that empty it was closing for good 😌
Stay tuned for part 2 of the Sears walk-thru on Saturday. The manager outright denied the possibility of closure.

Ooo, good thinking. I'll do that the next time I'm at Southcenter.
Y'all seem to be havin' a gripe ... Don't relish more than you can cop it.
