    The solo gaming community is one of, if not THE most welcoming community I have ever being a part of and I'm so glad for channels like this. And I believe the large volume of indie developers show just how much this community crave and care for new ideas and games.

    thank you so much for showing Gnome :) what began as a quick patreon game of a few pages grew pretty quickly! you can actually roll the regions randomly, which is how the world map gets built, then use the almanac to learn about what you rolled! Cartographers looks really neat, going to look for that one. Of course, Alex T. is one of the most generous creators out there, creating all kind of worlds for folks. I receive my False Prophet this week too, and pretty sure LoDs is going to be my big winter campaign game, cause its just loaded! Your comments about Unbound rules: I see comments all the time in board game forums / reddit about how bad rules are, for like major companies, with super popular games, so it just seems to be a thing...editing and 2nd pair of eyes cannot be overstated. Great vid :)

    Thank you so much for featuring my work in one of your videos once again! Especially in such good company, I own a few of the other games you presented here, haha.

    Plus I am greatful so greatful that game designers are taking solo play very seriously! Because solo play I think is just as important or maybe even a little bit more important than group play!

    Thank you for sharing these! All great looking indie games. Cartograph - what a great theme for a game. I picked up the Atlas edition! Ker Nethalas is of course my favorite 😈

    I would not be surprised if you teach because your videos are always thought provoking and well and clearly explained. That's not something everyone is good at, so thank you for sharing your knowledge and time!

      You are not wrong… I have taught in my life though that’s not what I do now. I do love teaching! Thanks for noticing. :)

    Recently tried my first "proper" solo-RPG (4AD and AAF are closer to board games, as much as I love them). It's called Moss Cloak, it's PWYW on Itch, and it's basically Ironsworn ultra-light. So, if you like the ideas of IS, but don't want to bother with heaps of rules, print-outs, and trackers, it might be a game for you. It's kinda basic, there's nothing super-special about it, but it works, and it's simple enough to be modified to whatever you want it to be (kinda like those rules-light zine RPGs that are so popular nowadays). Works well with One Page Solo Engine, which is also free.
    I liked it a lot, and I think it deserves more coverage.

    I can’t understand why most channels completely ignore independent designers and games, even the channels who aren’t complete shills. It’s so weird to me to ignore an entire sector of the hobby space.

      I link to the publisher’s websites for all the games, but if they no longer offer the content then you would have to contact them directly. The cards are part of Ker Nethalas.

    If he doesn't do leveling up rules just do it and add it as a fan rule!

    • @GeekGamers01
      @GeekGamers01  4 месяца назад +1

      Yes well that is easier said than done based on the mechanics of the game. I’ve tried a variety of different house rules for leveling up in the 10+ years I have played the game and none work right. They either overpower the PCs or make no mechanical difference in the end…
