This is really helpful. We’ve chosen antique bronze hardware for our cabinets but we’re thinking about a gunmetal sink and matching tap as our appliances will all be a gun metal. Still not quite sure what to do but your video helps.
I never filmed the after of that kitchen. I really should. We incorporated casual, contemporary, industrial and traditional elements into this design. It turned out quite lovely. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to film it soon.
Great video… what would you suggest to update a cherry cabinet kitchen with ALL oil rubbed bronze. I want to add another metal, just not sure where to start. Thanks
First, I enjoyed your video and would love some advice. My faucet and pot filler are matt black. My counters are white quartz with some veins. Cabinets are white. Island is black ( which is where the faucet is). My dilemma is the hardware. I can’t figure out if brushed nickel, brushed gold, brass, or black hardware would look the best. I want to stay with two metals. My style is modern. Not farmhouse. I have not purchased the lighting for the island yet since the hardware hasn’t been chosen. I’m open to ideas. Thank you
You really could go any direction. Black will keep the kitchen grounded in black and white. Brass will add a bit of warmth whereas chrome or brushed steel will feel slightly more modern. Depending on the actual hardware you select, brass could feel classic and timeless. Black could also help create a classic look, but may lean more towards contemporary. I hope that helps! Have fun finishing off your space.☺️
Hello! Thank you for this video. I have been trying to figure out what color my cabinet hardware would look good in my kitchen. I am in the process of having a custom made kitchen. I’m going to go with a two tone color kitchen. The upper and lower cabinets against the wall will be in a light grey almost white looking at times depending on lighting and time of day it is. I don’t have a lot of natural light. Then I want my island to be a darker shade of grey. My floor will be a light oak wood color and I’m still debating on whether I will buy all stainless steel or black stainless steel appliances. My countertop and backsplash will be white quartz. As for my preference I like to push the envelope and am tempted to mix three metals in my kitchen. I know that the 2 pendants over each end of my island will be black retro industrial. I was thinking for my island to install polished brass. Then I was thinking of putting all dark bronze handles and faucet on all the cabinets against the wall. Now if I add polished brass to my island then I would buy the same pendants above my island with both black and gold accents. Now for the silver tone I was thinking of adding to my kitchen would be the sink that is under mounted under the white quartz countertop that is also against the wall. I’m debating between stainless black and steel appliances. My oven, microwave and hood range will all have black in them with a touch of silver.
Hi Marisa, i love your video!! thanks. I'm redoing my kitchen and i'm having a very hard time choosing hardware color. I'm painting my top cupboards in white and bottom cupboards in black. How about using gold hardware with the black cupboards and black hardware with the white cupboard?
You can absolutely do that. Or you can select one colour of hardware and change the style. Sometimes with a tuxedo kitchen I prefer that approach with the hardware. Depends on your overall design style. Have fun selecting!
Yes you can! Adding brass knobs will help warm it up. Brushed or polished is really your preference. I've seen both look lovely. (I'm partial to polished brass, personally).
Really helpful video. Just bought a new house and the kitchen has all brass. Glad it’s back in style bc I love it.
Gotta love brass hardware!

That sounds amazing! Try holding different samples up next to your sink finish and see if one stands out to you over the rest. Happy styling!
Ah I love this! Now doing what makes my heart happy and not what is expected. ❤️ Thank you!!!
Yes! Go for it!
Love this video! Thanks for the great tips. I really love the consideration of finishes (matte vs. shiny) too. Super helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this - needing to mix stainless with black finishes and you visuals helped me see I can make this work!
Oh good. I'm so glad!
This was helpful. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful video! I was wondering if you did anything with the exposed steel beam to tie it into the design. Thank you!

Depending on the oil rubbed bronze finish you could try a black or even a bright brass for some contrast.

Sounds like you have the vision and know what you like! Enjoy the process… the final result is worth it. ☺️
We just moved into a beautiful apartment al the appliances and light fixtures are stainless but my dream is pink and gold will thay clash too much?
No not at all! Go for it!

Hi, my faucets are brushed silver. Can I do brass knobs? Should they be brushed brass or polished brass? Thanks!!!

I have a matte gold faucet. What finish should my cabinet hardware be brushed brass? I cant find matte gold hardware
I think what you’re looking for is brushed gold, unlaquered brass, or brushed brass.
❤
😊
What is a pot filler?
Great question! It’s a faucet installed next to or above the stove for filling up pots when cooking.
