Someone had told me if you dry your screw on caps real well, before screwing them back on, they wont leak. I had that problem. You helped me allot on finding this tumbler, I really like it. Thanks so much.
Thanks again for the comment! On the caps, I just make sure they are on snug and then check for leaks, but have had very few problems. These are well made and well thought out! Have fun!
Been using this tumbler for 3 years now. I found that using about 1 to 1 1/2 ounce of the Alconox 1832 Citranox liquid acid cleaner does a greater job when you have dirty rounds to clean. You can buy this on Amazon.
Great video sir. I got into reloading and started watching your videos. You have shown me more than every other youtuber combined. I'm so glad that you are doing better. I've been keeping you in my prayers. I am going to be in Redding for a wedding October 30 and would like to get togather with you to pick your brain if you feel up to it? Please let me know if that is something you might be up to doing. Thanks again for everything. Guy
Monday Wedding?? Just kidding...I'll be in town, if you let me know where you will be ahead of that day, I can meet you. Thanks for the positive comments!
216PapaBravo , I'm sorry. The wedding is October 14. A Monday wedding didn't sound right to me either. I'm glad you said something. Haha. I hope that works for you as well.
Well, now that you fixed the date, I will not be in town that weekend. I have to see my surgeon at UCSF on Friday (we usually stay a day down there to avoid rush hour traffic). I will be back on Sunday afternoon the 15th??
I agree wet tumbling is the best and cheaper in the long run. I did purchase a dehydrated to dry my brass as oppose to letting them dry on there own. Well worth the money and once again nice video.
looks as though you have lost some weight .I hope that it is a planned change. I am new at reloading and I have watched many of your videos and I have gained a great deal of knowledge from your presentations. Thanks for your help. I have observed items above your loading bench that are related to aviation.. I am a private pilot and i think that I have seen aviation manuals on your shelf as well as the beautiful F51 Mustang 0n one of your videos. I know that what I am about to ask is not loading related and I don't mean to get to personal but, are you by chance an aviator?
Thanks for your kind words! Well yes, I have lost some weight due to cancer which (so far) I am beating! I have prostrate cancer that got into my right hip and caused some issues (radiation, chemo, pelvic bone repair and hip replacement) that we corrected in 2015. But this year I have been on a program of weight loss and exercise that has helped me recover from treatment and has made me more healthy. To your second question, yes I am a Private Pilot (my handle is the plane I solo'd in back in 1986, N216PB, a Cessna 172 that I loved to fly (a rental) and wished I could have owned. It has been many years since I've flown and would like to get back in the game with the new rule changes (BasicMed). Hope your day is great and Good Luck with reloading!
Depends on what type, for pistol brass I try to get most of the moisture out when separating the brass from the pins and then air dry for a couple of days. A bit different for rifle brass. i separate the pins and then use my air hose to blow out the primer pocket and then air dry. Now you can put out in the sun (during warm weather) or bake in the oven at low temp, but it you are not in a hurry, air dry is ok. Thanks for watching and thanks for the question!
Thanks, I currently use the oven technique after ultrasonic cleaning. It works well, just always curious to hear how others do it in case there is a better method.
I'm torn... I agree vibe tumbling is dirty dirty dirty... I currently use sonic cleaner and it does a decent job in much shorter time (less than 25 mins)... however, that is some clean brass there. That tumbler is pricey... is it a matter of 'you get what you pay for' here or is sonic (comparatively) still worth it? Nice vid as always. Subbed finally.
I believe the main difference is ultrasonic cleaners do not polish the brass. If you want your cases to be really shiny this tumbler would be the way to go. As far as cost a lot would depend on how much a good ultrasonic unit would run you and how much you spend on ultrasonic cleaning solution vs the lemi shine and dish soap.
First of all, thanks for watching the video! If time is not a factor and you have a volume of brass to clean, the Frankford Wet Tumbler is the only way to go. I have a friend that uses the sonic cleaner and the chemicals just don't cut it for me. You could maybe get by with a shorter tumble time if your brass is not to dirty, but I prefer to use about 2 hours for all of my brass, be it pistol or rifle. I think that you do get value out of this system, and I recommend anyone that is looking to thoroughly clean brass to use a wet tumbler. Thanks again!
I am not a reloader yet, so forgive me for the amateur question. What tool do you use to de prime before tumbling brass. I am looking at a dillon 650, which I see you use, and deprimes. do you just use the dillon as usual after deprimed? I too would like to start with a wet stainless tumbler.
Good to have you back!
Nice share, the brass looked amazing afterwards.
Thanks for watching!

Do you think that you will be up to visiting on Sunday? I would really like to get together with you but not if you aren't up to company.
Yes! Give me a heads up at my e-mail when you are in town....216Papabravo@gmail.com
