I don't know how I was so lucky to come across your channel but your content is hands down the best instruction I have found. The way you break things down instead of just saying do this is absolutely amazing. Great content!
Truly humbling words Ryan, thank you so much Sir. I’ve loved the journey with RUclips to date and if I can help going forward please just ask. Best wishes Stu 😊
@intelligentgolfperformance Have you done videos on these different training aids out there? The hangar? The structure ball? Are there any devices out there that do make sense. I love the Swiss ball and band drill. Just wondering if all of these products are gimmicks or if any have value. In your humble opinion of course :)
Stu I have long suspected that you are a secret physicist but with newtons 3rd law of motion summarised in golfing terms so clearly, it’s a lock - clear advice as always Sir love it.
Haha thanks Peter - letting go of romantic ideas that have plagued the game for generations is all I’m about. If we can see the swing for what it is and distill down to simple drills and understanding, game has to be better for it?! Best wishes Stu 😊
Great explanation of how to use the lower body and maintain good posture. Many thanks as always Stuart. I am looking forward to putting this advise into action. 👍🏻
Hi, good vid as always. I've tried many youtubers coachs (includieng you) and I'm having difficulties finding my sweet spot. I do understand your method, or if I may say, your approch. I really like it. At home, I have a golf simulator (Mevo+) since Novembre 2022 and my golf has never been so eratic. I've got a decent club golf speed (104 MPH) warm up and i'm strugling to pass the 250 Yards. I have watch a multitude of your videos(Grip, Pull the club, foot pressure, and now this one . I still can't get a good shape of shot (right to left) 30% are almost right in the middle, 15 to the left and the rest in the **** right. My grip is essential i know, holding the club in my fingers not in the palm. even with that i have dificulties to having a good impact. I have noticed when i make contact with the ball, my hands are a little towards the target and my weight is on the right foot. I will continue with your advise, but i begin to get tired. If you have others advises I will be listening. Thank you again for your vids. Sorry for my english, is not my native language.
No problem about your English Bruno, thank you for sharing your experience. Unfortunately because I can’t see you, it’s up to you to choose your path. If you do want some bespoke guidance you can always download the “Skillest” app and find me there. I can help. Otherwise, keep working through my videos and hope you find the way to improve strike. Strike however, is a skill, work on it specifically and you never know, your awareness for contact might just improve. Hope that helps Sir. Best wishes Stu 😊
another great video Stuart! After all the practice and training, my golf trip last week was mostly a success. Last round of the trip was my best ever, had far more solid drives and good contact with my irons than ever before. Thanks for helping me accomplish that and I'm looking forward to continuing to learn from you! Cheers
So wonderful to hear the last round was the best ever!! What a great way to finish a holiday, top work Kyle. Keep up the diligent practice Sir and look forward to hearing more updates. Best wishes Stu 😊
Another great lesson! I have always thought of the golf swing as dynamic athletic movement of sorts around a balanced body. For every direction the body moves in the swing, there should be counter move in the opposite direction. That said, I feel a more upright, standing tall, chin up, slight bend at the hips, core engaged, loose feeling of the arms and wrist hinge, slight knee bend allows for better balance as the body moves throughout the swing. Can you do a video on the comparison of the body more upright to that of varying degrees of bent over, and how these different body positions impact your philosophy of the golf swing?
Thanks and definitely found this ground forces video informative. The video request related to how upright or bent over one stands seems to me when done properly, especially with leveraging ground forces would provide varying results of the kinetic chain you mention, and consequently best possible ball striking and ball speed🤔
Well presented, and certainly one should consider at length rather than dismiss out of hand because not what we all hear. Almost makes too much sense. Thanks😮
Thanks Jack - bucking the trend is hard to cope with, without validating and being able to walk the talk. People will get there, but only when they’re ready. Glad you are 😊Best wishes Stu
Stewart, enjoying the journey of re thinking golf instruction. Do you offer online courses via skillets? I see as of now none available. I don’t want to keep picking your mind on utube- since you deserved to be compensated for all your experiences and learning. Would prefer learning concepts as I go along vs Lesson evaluation… at least at this point?
How does this link in with taking weight *off* the rear foot and right>left weight transfer? If I’m pushing my right foot into the ground to generate/enhance rotational force, how can I get the weight *off* that foot for the follow through? Thanks - subbed.
Hi Ben.. please please watch my video “Power Up” this will explain precisely what you’re asking my friend in great detail and with a pressure mat. Let me know if you have any further questions. 😊
I like this on posture. It makes a lot of sense to me from other athletic motions (like a deadlift) to have your spine in a strong and organized position. However, if I start with weight toward the heels I find it can exacerbate my early extension (I know, mixing videos here), since the weight then feels like it needs to come forward to stay in balance. Looking back at old videos of my swing I was playing much better when my torso was more upright at address, and worse when I was more bent over. Unrelated: how do the forces you talk about in this video show up in Scotty Scheffler's swing and distinctive footwork?
Hi Robin - early extension is a symptom of other ingredients. Never isolate an early extension fix. The left hip swings around in the backswing and moves pressure to the left toe, and right heel. Scottie scheffler has super foot work, it’s exaggerated more than more, but be sure to know it’s good. Hope that helps! Best wishes Stu 😊
Your thoughts on lateral force and rotational forces in the kinetic sequence ? You have emphasized a lot on the vertical force from the lengthening of the front foot but don’t say much about the other two. Thanks
How do I prevent early Extension while straightening the Left leg to Rotate AND make sure I don’t to or fat Hit as the Left leg Straightens! Tks Much Sal P
I couldn’t possibly answer that question in a paragraph or two. What I do know is, if you watch my videos you’ll will learn how to do exactly that my friend. I educate those willing to be and give you the insights needed to deliver high quality golf. Best wishes Stu 😊
Just saw a video of "the bump" in the hips. This makes so much more sense. Im.really starting to figure out the push of the handle and its working out amazing for me!! How are you at teaching putting? Lol
@intelligentgolfperformance I'm actually glad you are doing it that way.. I've seen most of your videos, and it's just starting to click with me. I'm hitting irons better than I ever have before. Keep doing what you're doing my British brother. Much love from over the pond.
You really have a “big picture” approach to the swing. I’ve found thinking about small changes such as shaft lean, or club path start off well but eventually slide into a bigger mess than before. Get Posture, grip, balance and tempo right…everything else falls into place if you can get past the initial hacking.
Hi Stuart, you have several videos in which you talk about the pressure down with hands but this is the first in which the idea of pushing against the shoulders / upper body has properly registered with me. However, this idea leads me to ask what angle your back should be at when you address the ball - assuming you have a relatively straight back?
John, many thanks for the question; the angle of the back isn’t the reference point; balance of the feet and the handle under the shoulder sir. Hope that helps and hope to see you soon! Best wishes Stu. 😊
@@GoodGolfCoaching played golf today and my only swing thoughts were my shoulders and the pressure you described. Produced some of the best shots I've hit in a long time. Obviously I didn't get it right all the time but there was more than enough there to make me feel this is something for me to work on. Thanks.
Oh it is my friend, it is… but when you want to keep hitting it straighter, further, consistently, week in week out, just swinging and hitting may pull up short 😂😂

What direction do the hands pull in? If it is the direction the club is pointing, then how does a shallowing club work into that equation?
