Every day I thank James Click for Yanier Diaz.
They should have held on to Click and took Bagwell out of the front office. Click did a good job solidifying the bullpen in only 1 year that led the majors in All time post season ERA. Bagwell let Yuli go, who won the AL batting title the year before and was a gold glover with great chemistry and brought a broken Jose Abreau for $50mm+. Bags signed Montero to a huge contract that kept us from keeping Neris the following year.
Trading away Straw for Maton and Diaz worked out really well, 3 former guardians won a ring in 2022
I remember being mad when Straw got traded. I liked him but clearly a lopsided trade

Crane was so mad that Click didn't get the veteran catcher he wanted that he fired him after the World Series. Crane is trying to be another Jerry Jones.
I'm an Astros fan, but I'll always love the Rays and the people of Tampa Bay for their hospitality during Hurricane Harvey when they let the Astros play there while scumbags in Dallas would not.

@@bambulance2174 It did actually happen. In 2017 when harvey happened we had two series left with the rangers, one home and one away. The Astros brass when to the Rangers to try and swap the home series. The Rangers said no and wanted all 6 games up in Southern Oklahoma. TB stepped up, since they were on a road trip and said use our place as your home.

I love Peña’s relentless hustle. Gets infield hits and makes double plays against him so difficult. Plays virtually every game. Overlooked piece of the team this year imo.
Also Framber has been DIALED lately.
I appreciate his hustle too, but it scares me sometimes thinking he's going to tear an Achilles, or break a rib on a slide, or something serious. Sometimes it looks like Yordan or even Tucker doesn't have any hustle.
No disrespect to Maldy but seeing a catcher who can ACTUALLY hit is such a big deal. Maldy did a lot for us but man was he a horrible hitter. Yainer Diaz is the real deal.

His offense greatly eclipses any on the game calling benefits of Maldy. But Maldy was a big part of our run

What's crazy is the Astros are back in first place with 5 starting pitchers, and Tucker, out. Verlander, Javier, McCullers, Garcia and Urquidy, are all out. Not only that, but they have the best record in the AL since June 1. Get Verlander, Garcia and Tucker back before post season?

A few years ago, the ticket prices were unreal. Needed 2 seats on the mezzanine level where there was wheelchair access.. tickets were $126 each... didn't count travel , parking,etc

For the second day in a row, Espada has panicked and pulled his starter in the 6th inning. Framber was dealing today and as soon as he issues his first walk, Espada pulls him.
He was over 100 pitches after pitching 107 pitches in his last start. Last thing we want is for Framber’s arm to fall off.
