I would have added Eating Raoul and Delicatessen to this list. The mere title alone with Eating Raoul tells you it is about cannibalism. There are more but I want others to play as well.
Eli Roth has made some pretty awesome movies, however, in my opinion, Green Inferno is the child showing parents Cannibal Holocaust and Ferox his artwork. And the parents are like, “awe, how cute. Let’s put that on the fridge.”
Bone Tomahawk, took me three attempts to watch it in entirety, most gut churning movie i have ever seen, yet has been shown on terrestrial tv twice in UK now. Unsettling in the extreme, but victorious in the end, or is it?
Until I came across this video I had never heard of Cannibal Ferox or Bone Tomahawk but I had seen the other Cannibal films: Cannibal Holocaust Motel Hell Cannibal Women in the Avacado Jungle of Death I forgot what the movie was called but I saw this one movie where a father lost his left arm to cannibals who also killed and ate his wife while they took his daughter and thought she was a river goddess and she lived among them for several years.
Bone Tomahawk is hard core. Kurt Russell is the main character but what these stone age type Indians do to the cowboy 🤠 posse is brutal! Even their own women are shown blinded (probably ritualistically) with short sticks rammed into their eye sockets and left there. 🙈
The Devil's Reject is not a cannibal film lol!🤣 You forgot the granddaddy of them all The Man From Deep River. Also Jungle Holocaust(aka Last Cannibal World) and Eaten Alive(aka Emerald Jungle). There's other crappy films like Man Hunter, Cannibal Terror, Cannibal Goddess and the rare Adam And Eve Against The Cannibals. What about Massacre In Dinosaur Valley or Emmanuelle And The Last Cannibals. Good reviews and cool video!👉🙂👈
If it's a movie Gaining cult status, it's because the cool kids from Gen x told you about the movie and not because some clueless millennial or gen z'ir that is in a bullcrap film class who dansy thrnselves as somekind of film expert and pretends they have an intimate connection to old movie stars, thinks they are gonna be an influencer and influence the masses on "new to you" cool oldstuff". Can't influence something that's already been influenced.😊
I thought it was a good selection with the exception of "slave of the cannibal God" which I didn't find disturbing at all. Comments mention most of what I would have, but add "zombie holocaust" as it had a blend of zombies and cannibals.
What about "The Emerald Jungle" or its other name "Eaten Alive" I saw it as a teen and it is still one of the most shocking cannibal movies I ever seen
Actually, the film's official title in English is "Mountain of the Cannibal God". "Slave of the Cannibal God" was its title in the U.S. and "Prisoner of the Cannibal God" was its title in the UK.
How does Devil's Rejects fit into the "Cannibal Horror" category? At no time do any Firefly members eat human flesh. It would have been more accurate to have added Texas Chainsaw Massacre or even part 2.
Quest for Fire, There was an episode of Hitchcock Presents where a special exclusive club has a special diner, whenever one of the members dies. Cloud Atlas, Cannable: The Musical, Silence of the Lambs, those fake Satanic ritual movies that came out in the 80’s during the Satanic Panic! Bon Apatit.
Are you related to Lord Raiden from mortal Kombat I like the sound of electricity you make every time you talk about a different movie in this video that's so cool
It's okay, be patient and let the fans fill you up on other missed films that explored this weird vore fetish. Probably in half a year or so you'll add a fan submission?
Then there's Alive based on a True story. Cannibal Ferox was incredible, when I first saw it I thought it was a snuff movie. Bear in mind I was 15 at the time. The FX artists were top notch.
Interesting watch. Cannibal Holocaust, Cannibal Ferox, Green Inferno and Ravenous are all pretty sickening. I'd have included Last Cannibal World and Frightmare too.
I found most of the Italian 70's and 80's films fairly crap really, they didn't age well put it that way and while I can appreciate low budget movies being an 80's kid. Sometimes they're mid-tier at best. The Road and Bone Tomahawk are fairly disturbing movies with some good twists and turns as a story, so I think most people would find them appealing. There is one fairly glaring and very high quality movie made by Peter Greenaway though which is sadly missed on a lot of these kind of reviews, but The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) should disturb the crap out of a lot of people. Not only is it beautifully shot, A-grade acting and an impressive display of colour theory applied to cinema- the violence in it is often extremely shocking counterpoised with the other very highs and lows of human emotion.
If Cannibal Holocaust was supposed to be found footage, who's operating the camera during the scenes where the cannibals are eating the scientists, the scientists or the cannibals ?
Motel Hell was a good dark comedy about people eaters.
Should also include The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills have Eyes, Frightmare, Motel Hell and Bones An All as examples
Hannibal films and the TV series.
Great video guys, but Deep River Savages (1972), Jungle Holocaust (1977), Eaten Alive (1980) and Motel Hell (1980) deserved a mention too.
Definitely Motel Hell for me, but yes, the others are also worthy! Good call!
Especially Deep River Savages which began the Italian Cannibal genre
Devils rejects had no cannibalism in it
I would have added Eating Raoul and Delicatessen to this list. The mere title alone with Eating Raoul tells you it is about cannibalism. There are more but I want others to play as well.
I'm hungry all of a sudden
#1 Cannibal the Musical
Ya it's the best one .
😂😂😂
🎵 Let's build a snowman! We can make him our best friend! 🎵
Stuck in my head for the past 30 years! 😂
Am I the only one that realized you never included the Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
Texas chainsaw isn't a movie about cannibals though just about a deranged killer
@jordansmith1643 What are you talking about? The family were cannibals. The sequels prove that.

Was there any acts of cannibalism in The Devils Rejects?
No
Naw.
@@benitarouse1869 I didn't think so. It's been awhile since I saw that movie.
He's confusing it with the previous movie.
'House Of 1000 Corpses'
Was there any cannibalism in "House of 1000 Corpses"?
What hardcore rural people call you city folks "food" , if shtf do not come here we will eat you. 😅

I believe Eli Roth' s "The Green Inferno" was a homage to 80s(yes...) AND 70s cannibalsploitation, NOT 90s...
Until I came across this video I had never heard of Cannibal Ferox or Bone Tomahawk but I had seen the other Cannibal films:
Cannibal Holocaust
Motel Hell

I'm trying to forget Cannibal Terror, because it's a rotten movie. Eaten Alive was okay. Man from Deep River was very good.
@Rando1975 I think Cannibal Terror was done by Jess Franco so that's to be expected.🤣
A lot of weird choices on this list as there are many more deserving titles not even mentioned!

You're totally wrong on The Devil's Rejects.
It didn’t make it onto this list sadly, but the great Sheila Keith in Frightmare is one of the most unsettling yet sympathetic cinematic cannibals.
"Ravenous" is the best EVER...it explores the deeper ideals of the idea. "Bone tomahawk" was the worst, hated it.❤
great top, except for green inferno, that movie sucks...
The Devil' s Rejects has cannibalism in it? Cant remember any of that.
Where’s Texas Chainsaw Massacre at?
Zombi Holocaust (aka Doctor Butcher)- Italy, 1980...
The Devil's Rejects are not cannibals.
U have missed wrong turn film
Forgot hostel several of the victims are eaten
„Green Inferno“ is a totally useless remake of „Cannibal Holocaust“🤯🤬😤‼️
Boring, you show nothing of interest

Bones & All, Motel Hell, Texas Chainsaw too.
"Black Emanuel and the Last of the Cannibals" (1977) and Fresh (2021) the latter I could not watch to the end.
If something befalls the civilised world and supermarkets run out of food I think cannibalism would catch on rather quickly.
Honorable mention: The Cook, the thief his wife and her lover. Somebody get's eaten at the end.

Cannibal holocaust got me into horror movies and video nasties. It's still a favourite of mine.
I've seen clips from "Ferox" and noticed that one character is emasculated and later is seen walking around as if he had shaken off a minor leg cramp.

What about the movie Gravy? That was twisted.

How about "Bones and All" i.e. young cannibals in love?
It all depends on peoples' tastes....

Many of these seem to be Italian in origin. Makes you wonder about Italian culture that cannibalism is such a recurring theme in film.
