THEY ARE DELICIOUS....BEEN EATING SCULPIN SINCE EARLY 70 S....MMM MMMM GOOD!
Ballast Point brought me here.
Ugly Sculpin? That is one of the most beautiful! Respect the Fish!
I batter and fry them and they are delicious. Just fillet them like you would any other fish. Very light and flaky with no fishy flavor. I have no idea why more people don't eat them and don't really care, LOL.
Thats how we cook all our fish traditionally. When steaming try adding thai chili peppers in the stomach cavity.
Wow I had actually caught a sculpin at the imperial beach pier. I should've brought it over to you guys. Pretty good size too probably a bit smaller than this one.
Then again it was a couple years back

Wow we throw those damn fish back or use them for crab bait.
Are they poison ?
Kami Abadi Nope. Their spines are venomous and will irritate you like crazy if stung
The poison is in their spines.... don't get poked....it's like an uncomfortable bee sting ...
Kind of like lionfish
Garbage fish.... we use them for bait where I’m from.
That sounds disgusting
