The situation with Alan is that Omni-Man never talked to him. Cecil told Omni-Man there was another alien coming to the planet and asked him to deal with it and has been going on for about 18 years now.
Feels like a hint that Omni-Man's story is BS. If the Vitrumites go to undeveloped planets to protect them, then why would the coalition of planets need to exist?

I think her powers are kinda lame. I mean cloning yourself Ig is pretty advantageous, but her powers are more for distraction than actual combat. She doesn't even have super strength because if she did, her clones would be much more useful.

If Omni Man taking out the most powerful superhero squad on the planet wasn't enough of an indication as to why Cecil didn't want anything to get out, we are shown just 5 minutes before what happens to a whole planet and civilization that opposes Omni man. That whole thing was shown for the viewers sake, but Cecil already knows, or has an inkling of, how powerful Omni man is. Cecil is just stalling for as much time as possible before the confrontation.
A fun fact is to read the voice talent at the end of each episode. A lot of famous people every week. Also did you know that every guardian of the globe member was voiced by actors that were killed on the walking dead tv show! Abraham, Sasha,etc.etc.
The first 2 episodes kind of give you a sense of why Omni- man didn't want his son to get powers, With the hole " earth is not yours to concur". My thought was because his son got his powers so late; he is 17 if he got his powers at a younger age he could have been manipulated more easily. If concuring earth was Omni-mans true purpose a child with the same powers could help; but an older one who only knows about living as a human could stand against him. Eliminating earths greatest team of heroes after his son gained his powers was probably to prevent them from teaming up with his son to stop him if he can't turn him.
SPOILER: I also read it as him forgetting about his reason for coming to Earth and then it being thrown back immediately into his face once his son's powers kicked in.

His dad probably beat his ass last time, he came to the wrong planet. I doubt he talked to him so I don't think he was hiding anything related to that. He just whooped him and then that guy fled. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt he would have left Allen alive, and if they talked last time, he would have told him it was Earth and not Urath.
My understanding as someone who's only seen the show is that Omni-Man could conquer earth whenever he wanted to, but he does on some level love Deborah and Mark. And when Mark got his powers, it meant that for the first time his plans had a chance of failure. So he had to make a move, and show Mark that him taking over the world is actually a good thing. I think we might see that fall apart, but he'll probably try to convince Mark with the standard argument: 'humanity will destroy itself if I don't step in, why don't you join me?' But that's all speculation.
Have to bite my tongue when to ask about the overall story. I loved the books and really love the show. I also enjoy hearing your ideas as they remind me of the wild ideas I came up with as well as friend when we tried to guess the direction of the book. It is also fun to see you guys react to twist and really get into the series. Eve outside if Mark is a fav of mind and I enjoy seeing her unleash on foes. Your reaction to her was great. I can’t wait for when we get into the other story lines from later in the series. If the show as shocked you now what is to come is the tip of the iceberg.
The idea of multiple superhero teams isn't unique to this show. DC comics and Marvel comics are filled with superhero teams. Even the Boys (comic & TV show) has multiple superhero teams.

i get strong dragonball saiyan vibes here where omni man was actually sent to earth to conquer and that was their only and original goal when sending their youth to other planets as opposed to the story he said of helping planets. I also think theres a correlation to the timing of his son getting his powers and his mental switch like its in their built in species nature to try to kill their young ones when they evolve or heck maybe thats one of the reasons they are sent away
Well you gt a few things wrong, he was already older when sent here and big spoilers in the comocs bt once mark getting his powers nola knew he needed to thst he forgot the life he build here was nothing but what his true missoion once mark powers start to kick in, he knew he needed to start and took down the guardians globe there first big treat.
Don't assume Nolan knows about Alan, he's not the type to use a Time-Out to try to "talk it out" so for all he knows Alan might just be some weak villain that shows up and then runs away just like he said. Fun Fact: In the Comics the 3rd invasion happens as revenge because Nolan flies through the portal after the second invasion and this isn't shown we just have to take their word for it, he spends decades being a one man apocalypse until he leaves.

Either way, meeting Debbie (The mum) changed Omniman's mind and he settled down and had a son. And it's not until Mark got his powers did the Dad go and attack the Guardians. Maybe it was a reminder of his original mission? Or he needed to wait for a successor? Or maybe, pretty far fetched, in order to stop Mark from being sent to another planet by the rest of their species, Omniman has to make the world unsafe again so Mark is there to look after it?
I honestly don't get how people don't realize that. They literally zoom in on a burger mart burger container for 3 solid seconds and the kid even says "Burger Mart?". The fact that so many people don't catch on makes me disappointed in humanity.
I love how nuanced Omni man is, he's unlike Homelander who's just a dick for no reason. And the fact that he's not just a simple evil psycho somehow makes him scarier.
To be fair, Homelander isn't a dick for no reason. There is a very good reason he's a dick and that reason has been a huge plot point throughout the show. He was raised in a lab with no human interaction. He was treated like a science project, not a human being. He knew nothing about the outside world before he was thrust into it unprepared. All he really cares about is himself because that is all he had while he was growing up. That is why they were so desperate for his son to be with his mother. So they wouldn't end up with two Homelanders.
I love how this series shows the darker side of being a superhero. Having to deal with people dying in front of you, the gore and violence no other show really deals with. It would be a huge shock to a teenager in his first week of trying to be a hero deal with it. Many reactors just don't get that and think Invincible is just shit at being a hero...
I'm sorry, but he is. Superman and Spider-Man rarely have to deal with people dying in front of them, because they stop the villains before anyone gets hurt. I find the excessive violence in this show undermines how "super" these heroes are supposed to be. It only works in The Boys, because those Supes are intentionally supposed to be bad at their job.
