The X55 has benefited from constant JelOS updates, like every week. Portmaster has finally started working properly and has great potential. The performance of PSP games seems to have improved, meaning the majority work well. This one is in a really good place
Wouldn't the best CPU governor be ondemand? That way it only runs at max frequency when it needs to in order to have the best performance and battery life?
I got my X55 on Friday and am thoroughly enjoying it. with the large screen compared to my RG353p and RG353ps (which I love). There was an update Saturday available for it that was dated May17th I believe and the performance has increased. I am able to run most PSP games including Gran Turismo without stutters. On PS1 emulation I can run widescreen hacks and it upscales and looks great. The larger screen is also great for the older 4:3 aspect ration games like Nes and Snes. I was even able to build a port of SM64 that runs on it in widescreen mode beautifully in 60 fps. My list of handhelds: RG350 (this one started it all, put the higher res screen in it even) RG350M (same as the s30, but button placement was harder for analog PS1 games) RG351MP (same as RG350M) RG353P (Favorite to carry and play) RG353V (good but uncomfortable form factor for anything but 8bit and gameboy) RG353PS (tied for 1st) RG405M (great fit and finish, but a bit awkward in the hands and not as nostalgic) X55 (close second) X28 (3rd only because the android is a but clunkier especially for older systems and setting up touch controls..etc) I also noticed that the x28 has an option to switch operation and it seems to want to boot from the SD card when you do this, but see nothing yet to take advantage of this...perhaps another OS option in the future.
I got mine today and installed the 27/5 version, but the battery indicator maxes at 10%? Do I really need to completely drain the battery to fix this issue?
@@northsouthy74 You can either let the battery drain to zero, or just unplug the battery from the board for a minute and then reconnect it. Either will fix the issue. I had the same problem when I upgraded to 5/27 build. Was kinda funny to see it drop to 0% and then back up to 10% over and over.
@typer98 Could you elaborate on why the X55 didn't replace the RG353P/RG353PS as the first on the list? I'm thinking about getting either the X55 or the RG353PS. Almost ordered the RG353PS but started to think I might get annoyed by the small screen at some point.
@kewner8556 after several months the x55 is the one I play the most on now. It's just the bigger screen that makes better. It is essentially the same capability wise as the rg353ps so the larger screen is what sways me. I b love playing the sm64 port in native widescreen at 60fps.
You need to change the psp power setting to performance. Also switch resolution to 2x psp for better performance. Also the same goes for dreamcast, change power settings to performance.
You mentioned 'Arcade 2023'. Think I've heard you mention it in other videos, but I've not been able to figure out what you're referring to. Is that a system? A project? Google has proven useless on the matter.
Is this game on the nintendo 64? I'm going to test it for you and this week I'm going to publish the video on my channel here in Brazil, feel free to watch it.
I bought it without a game card, I just need to put a card in fat32 and the system creates all the folders and files automatically. I don't need bios or something extra to run the games? Thanks!!
How did you get Mario Kart on the device? I own this and disappointingly, none of the Mario games were included that I could see. Good video. Keep up the good work
Not really enough different games than other handhelds, plus I think it's gonna be heavy and the grips on the back probably won't be comfortable since I have a handheld with those and had to tape cardboard on back to flatten it out a bit.
I went with X55 for the much larger screen. I've already got the Retroid Pocket 2+ for a smaller device but I couldn't get used to how ugly all of the frontends are on Android.
I got the later black version. The wifi wasn't working. I followed a RUclips video showing how to do a manual JelOS update using the rom SD card, and the wifi works great now.

you sure it has wifi? no spec i've found mentions it.
These cuts are way too quick, haha, maybe space them out a little? As for the content itself, would've much preferred the T618 on this and I may have considered.
Rather poor performance for the price, at least it has stacked shoulder buttons though. I'd go with the new Anbernic SP for 4:3 gaming, or dish out the extra for the RP3+ for far better price to performance.
I wish someone would make a handheld that reflected the need for a Sega styled system. I really am tired and frustrated at the Nintendo centric design of these systems. I will personally never purchase out of a need to play them for my personal enjoyment. I won't do it, I won't buy any of them. I am a Sega fan and nothing absolutely Nothing so far has ever been produced from China or elsewhere that makes me feel like it's a Sega product, other than SteamDeck. While that's great, Asus Rog Ally and the like are coming and frankly as great as all that is, they are still PCs. For me, it really puts me out of the gaming community the more and more and more time passes and Sega is forgotten or treated as a failure and none of their stuff ever honored. Someday, I really hope something will come let the flood of Sega happen. That's all I got to say.
Jesus christ play something different than the same games over n over I get it everyone is obsessed with Mario cart n sonic but there's legit other games you can test like spongeBob I would love to see that being played for once n maybe a different Zelda game instead of wind maker I wanna see twilight princess being played

Update: If you set the CPU governor to Performance, this helps FPS on the higher end systems. We'll keep testing!

Good news everyone, the stealth wifi rk2023 will be shipping in June!
Wooo!!
How do you know if it will come with wifi or if you are buying the previous version?
@@MetodoCuboAzul if there is no logo on the glass and it's entirely black, it is the revised model.

Don't you mean 1x resolution?
Hello does the Bluetooth audio work?
How does it goes when slit screen on NDS ? Did you noticed a huge black bars around ?
Charging the X55 is a pain in the neck otherwise it'S pretty darn impressive...
Did it come with sonic adventure 2 or did you have to add it

I wonder if you can put in games like World of Horror in this and play it.

Cheers Stubbs. 16:9 screen without decent PSP performance isn't doing it for me. Shame, I do like it.
Yeah I'm bummed out on performance, and again, I know software can help fix this to some degree, but it will take some work by the devs. 😅
Which launcher are you using?
Which is more worth it, X55 or RK2023?

Odroid go ultra
