I just wanted to let you guys know that you got me again! I started the game up at midnight, saying I was just going to look through the leaders, start a game, play for an hour or so, then go to bed.
I didn't stop until 4:30 in the morning.

You guys should do a 2nd one later on, including many of the Civs that weren't in this one, like India, Sumeria, Egypt and America.

Wait, they're seriously posting this? I would've thought with how... special the AI performed that they would've tried to sweep this under the rug as much as possible.

A lot needs fixing in the game but I'm still pretty happy with it. The most annoying thing was getting denounced for going to war, and that civ declaring war on the one I just declared war on all in the same turn.
Just to let you know, I am loving Civ 6. You guys did an awesome Job.

The movement from city to city is giving me serious motion sickness I want to watch this but I literally feel like I'm gonna throw up any second.

I'll give two explanations.
a sid meiers civilization game has you playing as a civilization on the game field.
the game field is made up of tiles that have resorces on them.
you build up an empire and attempt to win one of 4 (technically 5) victories (cultural. domination. religious. science. time.)
that's the general overview, below are specifics.
you pick from.a variety of civilizations.
this ranges from currently existing nations (like the United States or China) to destoryed nations (like Scythia or rome)
each civilization has a leader, all leaders are already dead and have had a big impact on their civilization. some may not even have existed (friggen Gilgamesh)
each civilization also has a unique unit and improvement/district.
a unit is a type of subject on the game field that can move and can be used to found cities, make improvements, trade, or do war like things.
an improvement is something that enhances tiles on the game field.
a district is a zone where special buildings can be built and great people expensed.
buildings can be built by your city, buildings do specific things so I can't explain them all. units are also built by cities (exception is gifted units)
great people give you unique bonuses and I can't explain all of them.
you go through the eras of time, unlocking technology's that give you more things to build, and civics that give you more ideas to adopt.
can you build a civilization to stand the test of time?

Can someone tell me honestly - are the AIs any better? Or do they still not know how to attack and defend?
The ai is actually pretty bad.
Played a game on immortal yesterday. Wars went on for most of the game.
I lost 2 units to the major civs, and 4-6 to barbarians.
So, yeah, they can't control their units, which is to be expected. I would say they are generally _slightly_ better than civ 5 and beyond earth, but some behaviour needs to be fixed. (like, they don't escort settlers properly.)
They're completely fucking atrocious.
The ai's are about as good as you'd expect given all the variables -- terrible. Honestly, Civ 6 is much more complicated game mechanic wise than any other Civ. Processing power can only do so much when complexity starts to snowball. It would take an AlphaGo level AI (or greater) to truly make a truly challenging AI that could ever hope to compete with the human mind.
And no, other games with 'good' ai are just illusions based on their relative simplicity when compared to civ. It's all brute force, really.

They should run it 100 or more times, to see which the best Civ is. Sure there's a lot of tactics, but there's also a hell of a lot of luck.

how can Rome be founded at the same time as St Petersburg and Madrid!? Do devs know difference between civilization and state?

Way too fast. If you'd use a slower game pace and took the extra time to explain what the AI is doing and why - including background information about faction strengths and weaknesses and play styles - an AI Battle Royale would be much more interesting. Omit information about generic stuff like "X created a city" if you can't give any bonus information. (I think you did this some times. More often would be great.)

Artificial Stupidity* there is very little intelligence in the AI. I love civ but it's a sad reality...

People need to understand that Civ games ask a lot for AI programmers. Unlike other strategy games where brute force raw processing power can actually help an AI (RTS games, for example), Civ is a turn-based game. As long as the human player takes their time and thinks through everything, it's impossible for the AI to gain an advantage in anything other than micromanagement. You'd need a neural network type AI to ever hope to be a true challenge. Heck, I don't even know if AlphaGo has what it takes to ever beat an expert Civ 6 player. The variables are much too vast.

Fenasi Kerim mods. It takes some time to set up but with the map editor you can do it. Its slightly different to the devs AI games but still good

Poor approach in the whole thing. Felt like a presentation meant for football fans, all the time betting on who's winning and checking who's winning. I don't care who's winning in an AI game occurrence?! I wanna see particular details of the game mechanics and most importantly focus on AI decisions. Pause, AI produced like this. Pause, AI moved like this. Pause, AI combated like that. That's what I was hoping for. But no... "I think Real Madrid is winning".

Let's be honest. Civilization VI's AI is the worst AI I've ever seen on a game. It sends his units one by one for you to butcher. :( What a pity for otherwise such a marvelous game!
Instead of waste your time playing the game, go fix it, the game is not finished, at all. Serioulsy guys, low-res unit's icons, no graphic chart, rushed ending screen. Come on, stop talking, fix that.
I almost forgot, the AI, need a LOT of polishing.
even deity AI is mediocre in civ6, unfortunately. It seems like downgrade from civ 5 :(
