I find street parking entertaining so I love that watching people anchor provides the same entertainment 😂 a universal form of entertainment that's often better than tv!
Unless you are the one doing the docking. I find that if I do a good job no one is watching. A poor job has an audience and a disasterous one has fellow sailors in plenty.
Seems like you’re the only ones sailing on these sailing channels. Everybody else is either repairing, refurbishing, or waiting on their boat to get said repairs completed. (At least the 3 other channels I occasionally view). Keep it up!
That's because their boat isn't falling apart. Too many people take the easy way of bodging something and worrying about it later. The result is that the repairs get delayed and then they pile up. Then its a much larger job, so they're either always fixing something, or they're unable to afford to fix things properly. Its always better to spend the time and money to fix things properly, and to overhaul/refit entirely a 'new to you' boat - that way you can enjoy sailing and not be fixing things every five seconds.
It seems like a rough life, Terysa and Nick. I can only imagine some of the struggles, like deciding what to make for lunch each day, or choosing which sunscreen is best for a windy day on the water vs laying on the deck and going for a swim. Or visiting family and trying to decide which restaurant to go to. This must be real torture. I'm loving every moment! Thanks for the laid back, casual style. You are definitely in the groove. See you on the RUclipss next week. Salute!
So glad Nick has been able to check off all on his 'bucket list'..It's a vast ocean out there Nick, I am sure you will be able to find more to put on that list! :) So enjoying the Greek sailing, looking forward to more!
Nick, you need an innertube to float on. Perhaps a big yellow rubber duck 🙂The inside of the monastery is gorgeous! Wow! You've made a beautiful video of a beautiful part of the world.
You Guys are Just Brilliant - on your own and as a team . Don’t judge parking . It’s the best value entertainment in the world : we would always get there by 3pm- sit wait , watch drink wine and giggle . Every skipper is learning every day . But some are very very early on the Curve . Been there - Done that…..50 Yrs ago it all started with a Mirror Dinghy and an RNLI rescue then -> Gp 14-then -> Dart Cat Racing then->Greek Flotilla then - > Turkish Bareboat (that French Floating Fantastic) ! --> Buying an Oyster-> setting off around the world - Getting to the Panama Canal & giving up. 5 yrs in the Caribbean AND STILL the worlds best sport to watch ? ? Priceless - lend a hand and a bottle - New friends ! OTHER PEOPLE parking thier boats . We ALL , always need help - it will never change : BUT such fun , and a bottle well earned . Love you guys - thanks for the Pro Vid editing and production . 🍪 Jealous : but happy to have been there , if I could - would go again : but age steals agility & confidence . SAIL FAST - LIVE SLOW . ❤
The caterpillar looks ok, what will the butterfly or moth look like 😂😂. So please you are getting to grips with your floating home. You both look so much happier than when you first got her
Bucket list item, Check! Back to sailing film makers, or is it film makers that happen to own a boat? 🤔 Thanks for sharing another chapter. Nice editing. -EZ
In (weak) defence of the yacht anchored next to you at the end, I suspect it was operated by people who had hired it for a week or fortnight, with next to no experience whatsoever, and were genuinely unaware of the concern that their actions might cause to others. It's a VERY cheap holiday option.... cue visions of drunk north Europeans traditionally vomiting overboard, or screaming at their partners. Ah, the joys of a Med' holibob. On the flip side - glorious place, glorious scenery, glorious history, but less than glorious fortitude shown by Nick in very slightly tepid water: high five to Terysa that loved it. Oh Nick!
Was in the Dodecanese last summer. The anchoring shenanigans were the best (worst) I've ever seen. Why does everyone want to put out every metre of chain in calm, crowded anchorages? Nobody understands scope/depth ratios, much less care about any other boat. But definately good entertainment until they're on top of you.
Not want to be the one that says this, however it always seem to be French flagged boats that are horrible at anchoring. One time in Bequai we had a (French) boat anchoring just 10m away from us, right in our swing room. That being a cat and we a mono caused use to collide in the middle of the night.
@sailingrubyrose How do you find all the licencing? Any suggestions for someone who is unable to get an ICC due to nationality? I have several national licences (all non-EU) and would love to live aboard my own vessel, however due to nationality I'm unable to get an ICC. I've done formal training and have a 'Certificate of Competence' but its not recognized in the EU due to their "ICC or nothing" approach. I'm unable to hold an EU licence as that requires both years of formal training that has to be done in the EU, and because it requires EU residency.
If I join patreon I still won’t see videos with no adds on RUclips. And how much money to pay pateons to all my favourite channels? £100 a month? But I RUclips £16 a month and no adds on any video on a big screen.
I do like watching your adventures, but starting with "I've just completed everything on my bucket list so... give me more money" is just off-putting, sorry. Can't watch the rest.

You guys are lovely! Enjoy your weekly travels!

Rather go Sailing than Ailing

Perfect episode. Nice to enjoy my coffee and relax from the outside world for a Monday morning. 🇨🇦
There’s just something with the deep blue colour of the water in the Med! Even through video it’s as impressive. Love the videos

With that mustache you're now Nick the Greek!
Really enjoying your Greek adventures....on my bucket list for sure.
Wow man. I'm very proud of you both. You know what that means for yourselves. I can see it in you.
That scenery is wonderful, no wonder you love it there.
You guys are awesome, thanks for the great videos. :)
Of course, you are leaving roads, you are in a boat.
Love your work.
Enjoyed it very much, the water was So blue; enjoy guys.
My favourite part of RR is the weekly anchoring review section … in a non judgmental manner of course.😂😂

Now that is a beautiful office! Enjoyed the episode. Thank you!
Achieving your sailing goals while traveling with a beautiful supportive partner, Nick you have won the lottery…
Sailing is fun. Ailing is not. Sailing becomes Ailing when you’re feeling seasick. 😁

For a minute there I genuinely thought you'd brought one of the cats from Rhodes with you ..then realised it was the fluffy mic on the camera! 😁
Might want to check your title as it says "Come ailing with us!" vs "Come sailing with us!" Great video!
The caterpillar looks ok, what will the butterfly or moth look like 😂😂. So please you are getting to grips with your floating home. You both look so much happier than when you first got her
Great sailing.
Must be hard to leave your parents. I hope you get to see them soon again.
Love the Amstel in Greece🍻
According to my French friend on his sailing vlog (Sailing Awen) the French have the worst anchoring etiquette 😂
Very nice video😊
Thank you .
mustache looks good, Terysa that was a nice dive off the boat
That brilliant blue Med water looks photoshopped...not insinuating, it's just that bright. 😎
great video
When questionable anchoring happens next door, just start putting out all your fenders :P

NICE PLACE

10:54 Could he be doing anchor training exercises based on a course or something?
Hi both, I am going to sail in both Rhodes and (mostly) Symi this autumn! Any must go to's or places to totally avoid? Sharing is caring 😉
There's still the Northwest Passage...

What's with the Pierce Brosnan look Nick?

I think the mustache looks good. Nick’s is nice too. 😁
I cannot be the only one who waved when Nick said, that's my Dad, wave to him.
If I was the only one who waved, you are a useless lot.

Come "ailing" ?? LOL
Nick, the mo, and beard are so not you.
WTF is that on Nick’s upper lip? My wife calls it “birth control”
