Watched this for inspiration, only started at 35 and we have to know to recalibrate our expectations of the outcome, yet it’s one of best and richest experiences I’ve even done.
Interesting and not a dull moment in this interview. Guess you enjoy this as much as we do when discovering his trail. Love to see more of this in the future 💕
There’s so much difference in the world of improv . Different levels , systems and styles . I think theres reasons equally , that apply to each individuals choice in that world , some more interesting and some not quite so . What always surprises me is how the most simple reasons generate the most complex of improvisers . I mean Beethoven and Mozart where stanch improviser and each one has inspired many contemporary , jazz and perhaps blues musicians . As a failed late practitioner of the formal system in classical music . This gave great reflection in not the errors of my ways but errors that would be inevitable having spent most of my youth and early adult life juggling at an amateur and briefly professional level . I think what i mean is that when doing contrary motion scales and appeasing oneself with some harmonies , I just went to far 😢😅😊
Interesting/fun interview/talk. For me, I related the orchestration of music to language as well (I actually only did re-arrangements of horn section parts and musical scores for the instruments that were available in the groups I played in). I viewed the different instruments as "dialects".
8:56 Whenever you have time or the urge, let the girl skip! ☺ Have fun at the fundraiser!!😻 I'd say break a leg, but... 😵(hope your leg is feeling better!)
