[The Historian:] I can't believe it really happened, it's all slowly sinking in I left behind a hopeless race to fight a war they cannot win [The Chemist:] My petty life, it seems so trivial, a whole world is about to die If all those billions fade away, then who am I... to stay alive [The Historian:] Condemned to live, doomed to leave my world to die [The Chemist:] The guilt weighs heavy on my mind [The Historian:] Trapped in this void, deprived of dignity and joy [The Chemist:] Their secret hopes and dreams destroyed [The Diplomat:] We're about to start our journey, so focus on what lies ahead [The Chemist:] Liquid Eternity [The Diplomat:] We have the chance to save our future, we're alive, the past is dead [The Chemist:] The Source will set us free [The Diplomat:] We need to find a way to thrive there, preservation of our race [The Chemist:] Liquid Eternity [The Diplomat:] An alteration, gene mutation, transformation of our strain [The Chemist:] The Source will set us free [The Counselor:] Condemned to live, doomed to leave our world to die The guilt weighs heavy on our mind Trapped in this void, deprived of dignity and joy Their secret hopes and dreams destroyed [The Opposition Leader:] Condemned to live, doomed to leave our world to die [The Biologist:] A fate we could not avoid [The Opposition Leader:] The guilt weighs heavy on our minds [The Biologist:] But we had no other choice [The Opposition Leader:] Trapped in this void, deprived of joy [The Biologist:] Now we need to think of ourselves [The Opposition Leader:] Their secret hopes and dreams destroyed [The Biologist:] We need to break out of this hell!
The section with Tommy on this track is one of the highlights of the whole album. Tommy's performance here is one of my favourites of his from the whole album as well. But every time he shows up in a track it's phenomenally magical. So much passion in his voice and effortless range, drive, and versatility!
Song structure man, song structure... This is head and shoulder above anything else, just like Arjen, he's head and shoulder above us, quite literally ;)
I keep changing my mind on which track is the best, I agree with both of those but The Dream Dissolves is so good. Really they are all extremely good, this album is amazing.
having the edge required to win, and to live that, with no remorse for the opponent is real however " weighing heavy on the consience " is real too... holy moley
I thought I hear Simone Simons' voice here but then I realized it's impossible. The more I listened to it the more I was assured it must be her voice. And it really IS! Unbelievably great combination of voices here, I'm truly amazed.
Tommy Karevik has become one of my favourite singers, because of Seventh Wonder. But on this album, he seems to be on another level. I was blown away by how good he can be in this style, which is easy to forget, as IMO Kamelot's style is not allowing him to reach his best.
I think he's just making a (pretty good) imitation of Roy Khan for Kamelot, to keep the most purist fanbase happy. But yes, he's a real talent when he allows himself to shine
Don't get me wrong, I really like his Kamelot material, but I think if Kamelot did more songs, like from the Karma era, Tommy could use more of his range.
A very tough call, but my favorite song in the album. Everyone's godly talented, but Karevik manages to blow me away every single time. The passion with which he sings is inhuman.
Thank you Arjen for putting these out here. I am ordering the album. I looked for it at Grimeys in Nashville. They didn't have it, however they had that live Human Equation. Which I picked up. I got to order this album directly from you.
Muchas gracias.
I think that on the ship were more people, and in the"Bay of Dreams" the Propet said: "I see our children, they look like you and me. They await their destiny, I can almost hear their screams". So I think that on Planet Y there was no extinction, only redemption to machines and liquid eternity.
Steven Castillo That can be related to humans at Planet Earth too, but I see your point. But I always remember these lyrics from The Sixth Extinction: It's the end of the chain (destruction is the feeling) It's the end of our game (We've seen it all before) Is the end of man's evolution (The end of evolution) For nobody hears the echoes of the wind Seems gloomy. And, other than the line of the president in The Human Compulsion, it is implied that the Forevers forgot about Alpha.
What a fantastic song and album. My one request is to never have Floor and Simone sing in the same song. No offense to Simone, she seems quite lovely, but her voice comes off as weak when compared to Floor.
Holy wow! The final part with Tommy Karevik and Floor Jansen is beyond insane! The whole song is amazing! I'm totaly blown away!
[The Historian:]
I can't believe it really happened, it's all slowly sinking in
I left behind a hopeless race to fight a war they cannot win
[The Chemist:]
My petty life, it seems so trivial, a whole world is about to die
If all those billions fade away, then who am I... to stay alive
[The Historian:] Condemned to live, doomed to leave my world to die
[The Chemist:] The guilt weighs heavy on my mind
[The Historian:] Trapped in this void, deprived of dignity and joy
[The Chemist:] Their secret hopes and dreams destroyed
[The Diplomat:] We're about to start our journey, so focus on what lies ahead
[The Chemist:] Liquid Eternity
[The Diplomat:] We have the chance to save our future, we're alive, the past is dead
[The Chemist:] The Source will set us free
[The Diplomat:] We need to find a way to thrive there, preservation of our race
[The Chemist:] Liquid Eternity

[The Opposition Leader:] Trapped in this void, deprived of joy
[The Biologist:] Now we need to think of ourselves
[The Opposition Leader:] Their secret hopes and dreams destroyed
[The Biologist:] We need to break out of this hell!
"If all those billions fade away, then who am I... to stay alive"
I get chills from that every time x3
Me too!
Synchronicity....I read the comments, and, the very commented quote is being sung !!!
This is the coolest song I've ever heard. I'm having a prog rock nerdgasm.
If all those billions fade away , then who am I... to stay alive
That line really hit me!
One of my favourite song on this excellent album. The parts of Simone Simmons and James LaBrie are just "divine" :-)
Could become one of my favourite tracks by Ayreon
That melody at 0:30 takes a full thirty seconds to finish, and it's so satisfying every time!
The section with Tommy on this track is one of the highlights of the whole album. Tommy's performance here is one of my favourites of his from the whole album as well. But every time he shows up in a track it's phenomenally magical. So much passion in his voice and effortless range, drive, and versatility!
Brandon Blume which Tommy is the question.
Song structure man, song structure... This is head and shoulder above anything else, just like Arjen, he's head and shoulder above us, quite literally ;)
What a wonderful job !!!!
Congratulations and I wish you every success !!!!!
Today and always!!!
Hugs from Brazil
Together with "Sea of Machines" this is the best track on the album!
I keep changing my mind on which track is the best, I agree with both of those but The Dream Dissolves is so good.
Really they are all extremely good, this album is amazing.
One of the best songs from the album.
I agree
Another wonderful Arjen's creation! Congrats!!! ❤👏👏👏
having the edge required to win, and to live that, with no remorse for the opponent is real however " weighing heavy on the consience " is real too... holy moley
What the hell!!! Who the heck is that guy that disliked this amazing song!?
Arjen's evil twin brother.
The 'Frame probably...
There's always somebody.
Both Tommy’s sound spectacular on this song. You all should give more love to the other Tommy. Tommy Rogers 😎👌
Hands down my favourite song from the album.
I thought I hear Simone Simons' voice here but then I realized it's impossible. The more I listened to it the more I was assured it must be her voice. And it really IS! Unbelievably great combination of voices here, I'm truly amazed.
best track on the album, there are a few other exceptionally great tracks as well but this one is perfect.
A "sixth extinction" atmosphere right there...
Ah right! I was trying to figure out what it reminded me of. But yeah, it makes a whole lot of sense storywise.
jonatan fredes I thought the violin was strikingly similar the first time I heard it...
Wouldnt that be the FIRST extinction though?
"If all those billions fade away, then who am I to stay alive?" so beautiful!
I always get chills when Michael Eriksen starts his part, so good! And Tommy Karevik's voice is the 8th world wonder as always
Fan-fucking-tastic masterpiece! Floor, Simone... Wow!
I wish I could listen to this for the first time again. Amazing song one of my favorites on CD1
That's Ayreon's best piece of music so far!!!!
Tommy Karevik has become one of my favourite singers, because of Seventh Wonder. But on this album, he seems to be on another level. I was blown away by how good he can be in this style, which is easy to forget, as IMO Kamelot's style is not allowing him to reach his best.

Don't get me wrong, I really like his Kamelot material, but I think if Kamelot did more songs, like from the Karma era, Tommy could use more of his range.
Spyro44 you summarized my thoughts on Tommy. My favourite singer, like, by far!
seriously he is genius ! hands down and hats downs to the musical composer genius arjen !
this and the rest of the album are my favorite song
also The Source and the other Ayreon albums are my favorite albums
This is beautiful music! 😄❤️
Oh man, that chorus gives me goosebumps. The drumming on it is so powerfull. Amazing album this. Can't get enough of it
One of the best song I have ever heard. Intro is amazing, melodies excellent!
Amazing work, great music! Love to listen to Ayreon for almost a decade already! Best wishes from Bulgaria
This song (and album!) is so cool. This song is one of my favorites!
Just no filler on this album is there. :)
Lyrics in italiano:
[Lo Storico:]
Non posso credere che sia successo davvero,
tutto sta lentamente sprofondando
Condannato a vivere,
Condannati a vivere
Condannati a vivere
Ora dobbiamo pensare a noi stessi
[Il Leader dell’Opposizione:]
I loro sogni e speranze segrete distrutti
[Il Biologo:]
Dobbiamo fuggire da questo inferno!
Fantastic song!
wow very nice song
great vocals of michael eriksen and offcourse tommy
James Labrie!!!!
Great album. Album of the year so far! 👍
A very tough call, but my favorite song in the album. Everyone's godly talented, but Karevik manages to blow me away every single time. The passion with which he sings is inhuman.
He's amazing in Seventh Wonder. The songs aren't really written to be played live so the vocals hold nothing back
Thank you Arjen for putting these out here. I am ordering the album. I looked for it at Grimeys in Nashville. They didn't have it, however they had that live Human Equation. Which I picked up. I got to order this album directly from you.
The Female Voice of Floor (Flower) is Fantastic !!! The Men that sing on this Album also, are Stellar !!!
The part from 4:42 or so sounds a bit like Over The Hills and Far Away to me (especially the Nightwish version), nice.
Beautiful song, so melancholic.
Yeah, a little bit but sounds similar xd

so much power, beautiful as always ! ♫
If anybody dares to hit the thumbs down button.... love this part!
This is thé song on the album for me.
Muy bueno
my favourite
love this song!!!
For the best riff of the album, press 4:42 and 5:45 !
good job!
This song should be the soundtrack of 2020🤷🏻♀️
fuckin' genius
In fact, this song mentions the Fourth Extinction
"a whole world is about to die"
"doomed to leave my world to die"
Steven Castillo Or third. what about the future population of Planet Y?
Well, maybe Bruno, but they develop the Liquid Eternity, so I think that they achieve the immortality before die.
Steven Castillo But the entire new species will be immortal? Or just these nine (since the tenth is a machine)?
I think that on the ship were more people, and in the"Bay of Dreams" the Propet said: "I see our children, they look like you and me. They await their destiny, I can almost hear their screams". So I think that on Planet Y there was no extinction, only redemption to machines and liquid eternity.
Steven Castillo That can be related to humans at Planet Earth too, but I see your point.
But I always remember these lyrics from The Sixth Extinction:
It's the end of the chain
(destruction is the feeling)
It's the end of our game
(We've seen it all before)
Is the end of man's evolution
(The end of evolution)
For nobody hears the echoes of the wind
Seems gloomy.

EPICAN, just an opinion. Lighten up.
I think the exact opposite. The difference between them is whats make this so amazing! They are both goddesses, but diferent kind
is it James Labrie singing?
Yup.. this album has the best collection of vocalists I've ever seen
