Honk! Thank You @twohotgeese @jomezpro for a really awesome coverage. Today was the only morning that I didn't wake up at 7 am to watch the coverage. Did someone else notice that Northern European players took 7/12 of the top places in the pool? For us, about 4-5 months of the year is basically unplayable weather.
That was awesome! Congratulations Kristin! Also congratulations to all of the players, that was the best Worlds yet! I'm going to have to say "awesome" every 10 minutes for the next 2 weeks. Thanks for the great coverage and commentary. Love the Hot Geese!
I became a fan of Holyn Handley at last years worlds, finished 3rd last year too. That's a heck of an accomplishment. She's got all the shots back and fore, and power, great putter. She's gonna get a big win soon enough.
Lots of great improvements in the coverage. Love the drive graphic showing where people landed (helps with understanding the course better). Love the chase card check in and hot round clips. 2 suggestions though-at the end of the round when you have the list of scores slow scrolling, please make it scroll faster or leave it up til it gets to the end, especially on moving days. Also if the new theme music is not special for the event you need to rerecord the jo-mez-pro star frame jingle with banjo.
This one doesn’t need a spoiler shield… Kristen single handedly dropped the jomez viewership by not even making it close. And then she says something was “off” HAHAHA legend
Dang, that finishing edit got me a bit emotional! Kristin seems like such an amazing champion. So impressive. I thought that Cat and Paige would be able to hang with her when Kristin was just getting on the scene, but now it appears as though there isn't a true rival that can match her athleticism, skill and mental toughness.

But i think Kristin did good and Jomez props to the editing department this is really well done, i know they are abit slow at times and other outlets are sometimes better, but for me the editing, music, visuals all of them are above others for shure, and it makes it more epic to watch. The mandatory on 13 is dumb. If someone wants to go inside, why not let them? The drop zone is just as dumb - if someone misses the mando, let them run a crazy putt at an elevated basket to save par, don't make it basically impossible. Also, Madison is right - why are spectators allowed there?
WOW that end montage is an emotional one! Whew... Congratulations Kristin on a well deserved win, again. lol Win lose or draw I got to say though that I do miss Paige Pierce on the course. You can never tell when she is going to do something amazing. I hope that she recovers soon. Lykke played so very well. She had a few bad breaks unfortunately. It's always good to see her play. Then there is Silva. I have watched Silva play on the European tour. We WILL be seeing her win some majors over here, of that I am sure. She is good.
Kristin is amazing. But can we talk about Lykke for a second? Consider me a BIG fan after this Worlds. Hole 13, that nonsense with the spectators that probably dropped her 2-3 places, her face was the most professional expression of frustration I've ever seen. But she kept it together and bounced back. And what a C2 putt on hole 18 to finish after going OB off the tee! Her putting was lights out and her entire game was just super fun to watch. Rooting hard for her from now on!
No need for a spoiler shield i could have told you a year ago Kristin was gonna win easily. Gannon was closer than i expected tho. wouldnt have been suprised if she won with 10+ stokes.
So about Lykke laying up on 11: it cannot both be the case that she can make the putt 8/10 times _and_ have it be "smart" to lay up. For argument's sake I'll take Madison's estimate of 80% as Lykke's probability to make the putt: *_Send it:_* Assuming she goes full send and will make the putt 80%, miss but stay in bounds 5%, go OB 15% and make the comebacker 90% of the time on a miss: 0.8*1 + 0.05*(0.9*2 + 0.1*3) + 0.15*(0.9*3 + 0.1*4) = 1.37 expected strokes *_Lay it up:_* Assuming her layup works 95% of the time and she makes 100% of those tap ins, and that she botches the layup 5% of the time but she makes 95% of those near tap ins, we have: 0.95*2 + 0.05*(0.95*2 + 0.05*3) = 2.0025 expected strokes This is not remotely close. It's not smart to lay up, and Lykke should send it - she's simply too good a putter not to. I understand that in tournament play it's sometimes better to avoid the disaster and give up a stroke to insure a lead or a podium finish or whatever, but that's not the situation Lykke is in. Honestly, women's disc golf has been plagued by the "smart" layup play for many years. Paige Pierce dominated for close to 10 years in part by never doing it and more women would score better if they were on the Paige Pierce/Missy Gannon "always send it" plan. In Lykke's defense, she doesn't generally play scared. She knows she's a great putter and runs pretty much everything, so maybe Madison's 80% estimate is wrong and Lykke's estimate is lower, but I have a hard time believing Lykke isn't _at least_ 70% to drain that 40 footer. 91% C1X is insanely good; James Proctor is #1 in MPO and he's 92%, so Lykke's probably one of the ten best putters in the world, male or female, from 30ish feet. Probably just world championship nerves showing up on 11. It happens. And Madison: laying up is usually _not_ the smart play. It's the play to avoid disaster, but it almost always costs stroke equity. The smart play is to send it, it's just hard to have the guts to roll the dice sometimes.
So I’ve been trying to find a source for the intro music since Round 1. Closest I’ve come across was the soundtrack to Red Dead Redemption 2. Anybody else have any ideas?
I would guess it's Star Frame (at Bandcamp) as in the same person/team who did the usual track. Not sure if I'm imagining it, but I think this tune has the same theme.
Hole 13 is dumb af this year. If powerlines down the middle of the entire fairway with the pole sticking up in the line of a decent shot weren't bad enough. They put a dumb mando with an even dumber dropzone. Dropzone on this hole shouldn't give you a 0% chance to save your par with a high likelihood of getting a 5 because of the extreme angle the shot requires on top of all the trees in the way. Not to mention the awful rolls they can get
Although it wouldn't make much of a difference Idon't see why you would take an extra stroke if you could get a better overall round score. Nevertheless congrats to the winner!

I don't think that's fair to Missy. She's the only one even close. For example, there's few of the best from Finland who ranked well, but Kristin is just that good. I will give full kudos to Missy for throwing so well. It almost feels like everyone except her and Kristin were in a different competition altogether.
My feedback to jomezpro - I think the edited interview at the end is a bit much. Interspersing her words with the dramatic music (which is a bit tired having heard it 18 times now in the intro to every video) distracts from the moment and feels overdone and cheesy.

*_Send it:_*
Assuming she goes full send and will make the putt 80%, miss but stay in bounds 5%, go OB 15% and make the comebacker 90% of the time on a miss:
0.8*1 + 0.05*(0.9*2 + 0.1*3) + 0.15*(0.9*3 + 0.1*4) = 1.37 expected strokes
*_Lay it up:_*
Assuming her layup works 95% of the time and she makes 100% of those tap ins, and that she botches the layup 5% of the time but she makes 95% of those near tap ins, we have:
0.95*2 + 0.05*(0.95*2 + 0.05*3) = 2.0025 expected strokes
