What are YOUR thoughts about Turbo? Did you watch it growing up, or are you like me and you saw it when you got older? Do you want to see me cover the second half of Turbo? Let me know what you'd like to see me cover next.
33:42 - The funny thing about this is that they could've easily done a Megazord fight with this Monster. At the very beginning of Carranger Episode 9, the Red Ranger has a daydream of them using the Turbo Megazord spinout to destroy this very monster. Sure, that's the extent of the Sentai footage they could've used for that, but we know they had both the Monster Costume and the Megazord costume, so they could've at least filmed the first half of such a Zord Battle themselves. Hell, the Blue Centurion wasn't even in the corresponding Carranger episode Grillmeister came from (i.e. Episode 2)
51:10 pretty sure the new rangers are meant to be 14-15 years old. And since MMPR season 1 is implied to be 4 years ago now, TJ very well would’ve been a pre-teen kid wanting to be a power ranger.
You did a good job. I was 13 and 14 when these episodes aired. Imagine watching the Zeo finale waiting months for the Turbo movie to come out. The movie comes out then you have to wait 2 more months for the Turbo series to start. The majority of the episodes are revolved around Justin and the direct plot from the little rascals and having to watch every episode about a detonator which got old very fast. Then you get that crappy season finale and have to wait another couple of months to finally see an episode that seems decent like passing the torch and the next episode is all the rangers you’ve watched since day one gone. I didn’t know whether or not to stay a fan. But i stayed b/c i had never seen a black man. P.S this was so traumatizing that when i first met JDF in 2013 this was what i wanted to know about. What happened in Turbo where you left took everyone with you and left us with a kid. He explained it.
so i remember when they finished up zeo then the turbo movie came to be, then that fall the turbo show started... then it got hard to follow and i missed episodes along the way as if memory serves they were still trying to do the 6 days a week format on fox kids... that or it fell to just saturday mornings and there were other things to watch and or do... got to the mid point where they got shrunk and missed episodes again only to see the power transfer and then fell out again til they got the rescue turbo zords then fell out again til the finale and the mess that starts the in space season... this season felt just rushed and that they didnt know what they could still do with the rangers now as adults and being forced to make new sets which im sure was 1 of several reasons to get rid of the last of the adult cast for the new group, once the 2nd half gets going then its back to the school and simple things again but then it doesnt feel right at all since your in the mind set of one thing and its now gone, this season was one of the reasons why they were set to cancle the series entirely which since that was the case they went super hard on the in space season which years later i find out the sentai counterpart really didnt have anything to do with space but technolgy of all things and the cast was teenagers in high school of all things lol, turbo or the sentai counterpart carranger was just so far out of left field that it was bad in english but suprisingly did real well in japan after the ohranger season that started hard and after a real world event they changed directions to stumble down and almost ruin sentai...
Turbo is interesting in retrospect. It was the worst season for years before the likes of Operation Overdrive and then Megaforce took the title. I do wonder if this season would be more favourable if the cast change happened in the movie? Probably wouldn't be everyone's favourite but I do wonder.
Here's an alternate idea I had. How would this have played out if instead of "Turbo" Season 5 was more or less a second season of Zeo? Similar to MMPR Seasons 2 & 3, they swap out the Zords and the Monsters but keep the primary Ohranger costumes. Maybe then, we could've at least had Adam and Tanya to stick around for a bit longer.
@ well I wouldn’t call frogs, wolves, bears, white tigers, etc ancient creatures. We had the ancient creatures before them but I didnt want to drag it out. But you see my point, cool animals as zords, then….. cars. Its Might Morphin Fast and the Furious….
definitely a fan of your long form content! you just earned a new sub!
They could've started Space now so the Rangers who actually knew Zordon could search for him.
I'm glad you didn't even try to match Linkara's rant energy. I don't know if I've ever even heard you GO that over the top

Months in the making. So happy with how this turned out.

I liked the part where Tommy was busy at the race track.
Love your videos hope you upload more often :)

Been waiting on this for a while. Great video Dan!

Nah, that stuff didn't work in S2 and 3, and Cosmic Fury was a dumpster fire. With Sentai, you gotta adapt everything or it's not the same.
Hey Dan can you do more reviews like this for other power rangers seasons ?
I'll certainly try. I've got alot of ground to cover. 😄
@ Morphinominal dude.
I never liked Turbo, we went from Dinosaurs and other cool zords to....Cars. Woohoo?
from dinosaurs to ancient creatures to cars

@@bZman i was referring to the Zords from Zeo being ancient creatures
@ you are totally right, I completely blanked the zeo zords from my mind! Idk why but my brain was saying from movie zords, straight to turbo.
can you do react super sentai 45 anniversary hero getter
