Cant wait for mine to come in! Im on the waiting list and have placed my order. I got the 1199 S and now its a waiting game from hell till it gets here in November!
These guys' reviews are like cut and pasted every time. They always have an awesome thing to say. I owned a 916 and it was fun while it lasted. The money that you dump in this money pit out weighs the fun of keeping a Ducati on the road. I guess owning a Duc is a check in the box for motorcycling enthusiasts. Now, if you have money to burn then by all means buy one.
very well said. Getting my Streetfighter serviced today and was sitting on one. Man, does this bike have some high pegs but is surprisingly comfortable.
Someone here mentioned that he was never into sport bikes until he saw the Panigale in person. Well, I've always been a sport bike fanatic but recently was transitioning into a different class (due to age and safety concerns). That is until I saw the Panigale. The only sport bike that I will now consider buying is this machine. Otherwise I'm looking into something I can live with more and a day to day basis like the Ducati Monster (plenty of power ;) )
mate going for a ride through your favorite set of mountain turns can sometimes be just as good, i actually run a motorbike accessory shop here in Aus, bikes are alot cheaper than cars when it comes to track riding, you'll love it, just keep some goals of what u want.
Only had a half hour test ride on the old model S1000RR. Engine is fantastic and quick shifter is one of those things that you don't think you need, until you have it. My RSV4 may have less power, but I prefer having the Ohlins suspension on our crappy roads. Makes it so planted. Also has a beautifully smooth quick shifter and I do love V engines. Really want to try the HP4, but they are going to be rare as rocking horse shit. That semi-active suspension has got to be amazing.
have u ridden a s1000rr yet? you will definitely understand once u have, its such a complete bike in every way, the quick shifter is now my favorite all time bike accessory, so silky smooth i dont know how i loved bikes without it lol
my dream is to one day own a ducati! they are the gems of motorcycles this panigale, i saw one at Indianapolis speedway.... almost cried of the sound =']
Yes, my Suzuki XF 650 is very similar to the BMW F 650 GS, although mine is air-oil-cooled while the BMW is liquid cooled. In Italy the most sold bike is the BMW R 1200 GS, although good sales is having the Ducati Multistrada 1200 as well, (I think the third), which seems to be a a great bike. I can assure you that in various Italian forums, there is a long list of people who complain problems of the BMW 1200 GS. The truth is that, between these two bikes, I'd choose the Honda Crossturer.
Well said! People are always going by the meaningless numbers. I always laugh when I read see the bike vs bike vids. The Ducati is the sexiest bike ever made period.
@jumboshrimp2006 That's the bike i currently own, and it's a full digital display. There is a difference between Full color LCD and a regular Full digital display. My bike is the first Honda to have full digital display. Ducati's have had full digital displays for over 10 years.
What's your familiarity with the latest 1000CC superbike offerings from these companies? Have you ridden them? The latest ZX-10, by anyone's standard, is probably the most competitive offering coming form Japan at the moment as it trails the S1000RR, but only slightly. All the bikes from Honda, Yamaha, and Suzuki are refreshes or carry-overs from previous years. They all have yet to put forward their answer to the ZX and S1K, and are undoubtedly hard at work to do so.
Over the last 25 years of Superbike World Championship, Ducati won 14 times, the brand with the most wins in this category. Aprilia is the brand with more victories in Moto Gp, 133 race wins in the 125cc, and 143 in 250cc winning 36 World Championship, a record previously held by MV Agusta. We are proud of our bikes, they do not like you? who cares, you buy something else, but do not insult!
I own a Suzuki XF 650, 2002, single-cylinder, 66,000 km (40,000 miles), super reliable, a pack mule, you give it oil and gasoline and it will arrive on Mars. So I'm the first to say to the Italian motorcycle manufacturers to take as example the Japanese reliability, adding beautiful Italian design obviously.
Interesting that you went from the K6 Gixer to the S1000RR, considering BMW used the K5/K6 engine as the basis for the S1000RR. Easily the best IL4 1000cc engine of it's generation. Now BMW uses it as the basis for the best IL4 1000cc engine of the current generation.
@dtyndall11 : The BMW doesn't handle as well as the CBR, the GSX-R or the ZX-10R. if the power of the Panigale is as good and the chassis is better, I suspect it won't go well for the BMW. But then the BMW did go under some revisions for 2012...
Only trouble is you have to disassemble the chassis in order to service the engine, which is going to cost more, since the engine is a stressed member.
dude holy shit that's what i have been saying!!!! every bike is awesome and they are about the same in performance. it's just a matter of personal preference
I honestly prefer a lighter bike, compared to the Crosstourer or the BMW GS, so I think my next one, I hope next year, will be the Triumph Tiger 800, similar to the BMW GS 800, but less expensive.
About the difficulty of riding the Ducati in Moto gp, this was a known fact at least at the time of Stoner, but I do not know if the same was true for the Superbike as well. However, it seems to me that now in Superbike, Ducati has to undergo the superiority of Aprilia and BMW. About the build quality in any case, no one denies that the Japanese are a point of reference, and not only for the bikes.
Is this guy biased or what? I see less and less fair reviews, is like everyone became a politician... Beautiful bike, but don't care for it, married with my XX.
A lot of people are biased towards ducati a lot of people dream about riding one of these for years so when they get the chance they are going to overlook all the cons
Umm you think the S1000 will destroy the 1199!? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. The Ducati weighs considerably less, has a lower center of gravity, a couple more horsepower, and better suspension. And it looks better too.
Although you're right, we can't forget that most of the clients DON'T track... And all the companies know that and NEED to build a bike nice for the road ass well. A WSBK bike - despite her obvious track performance - wouldn't be such a success saleswise b/c people want to travel with relative comfort... IMHO
@calfan3. yeah they're nice looking bikes for the most part. im not trying to hate on them, i just prefer japanese. or a bmw 1000. and why pay 20 plus thousand for that when you can get a zx-10 or a bmw that will destroy that thing in nearly every aspect?
@ everyone. It doesn't matter how great the bike is.... What matters most is how well you can ride it! Put Troy B. on a ninja 250 and the rest of us on a Panigale....... I bet Troy still wins!!!
@dumbluck0629 Well, I'm a three time class winner in the WERA Supertwins class, and I didn't need a 20K Ducati to do it. I did it on a "squidly" $8,000 RC51. Just because you wear your leathers when you take your 1098 to Starbucks doesn't mean everyone else is a squid and you're not.
depends on the rider. Any track day rider on a cbr 600 will beat the pants of a street rider on a zx10, bmw 1000 or the panigale. Its the rider experience, or lack thereof thats the difference in most cases.
Every liter bike can do 0-60 in 2.x seconds, if you can keep the wheel down. Every liter bike can hit 18x mph. Every liter bike can take a track and do fine. All it comes down to when you buy a liter bike is looks, comfort, and name. Why so much bickering over "Panigale sucks compared to __insert bike here__" Ducati makes amazing machines, as does Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW, etc. Of course you're buying for the name, because in the end, all these bikes will put a smile on your face.
I honestly don't know why the mediocre results of Rossi to Ducati. Ducati in MotoGP has always been a difficult bike to ride, the only one who seemed to be able to win was Casey Stoner, Nicky Hayden also doesn't seem to have been able to achieve great results on the Ducati, but I'm not an expert in Moto gp. With regard to quality and reliability, now that Ducati was purchased by the giant Volkswagen, the brand can achieve the japanese standards, Germans certainly no lack of money and technology.
@dpresuto, i've ridden 5 ducati's lol. a couple 999's, a diavel, 1198, and 848. i dont mind them i just meant people make them seem like that. and in a way they really are for normal everyday people. at the end of day ill take my busa and zx6 over a ducati but that's just me. by the way i hate the sound of a dry clutch, 848's are the only good sounding ducati's in my opinion but that is just me. japanese bikes just seem to be a better race bikes. and all around bikes.
@polivo0111. i've got a busa that either of these bikes could only dream about ever beating, and i race a new zx-6. (not street legal obviously). so i mean im probably twice as fast with the busa. just saying.
So you wanna tell us, we ride to 7,000? STFU man, this machine is a beast! I ride one of those in Bulgaria (no race tracks here) and it's a bit of pleasure to cornering with it...The remap is better, than i was expecting. Definetly lighter, than the busa i've ride! I ride it with a smile on my face :), and i have money, so i will ride what i want! So you can call me a morron, i can call you jealousy!
If you ask me, this guy is best reviewer on Motorcycle !!!
Cant wait for mine to come in! Im on the waiting list and have placed my order. I got the 1199 S and now its a waiting game from hell till it gets here in November!
I act much the same when I am exited about explaining things, just a type of personality that is very expressive
These guys' reviews are like cut and pasted every time. They always have an awesome thing to say. I owned a 916 and it was fun while it lasted. very well said. Getting my Streetfighter serviced today and was sitting on one. Man, does this bike have some high pegs but is surprisingly comfortable.
About time someone came with a full color display. Hope it's Hi-def. Thumbs up Ducati.
I'd say name, looks, heritage, comfort and just overall feeling and emotion you get from owning/riding/looking at the bike. Like atmosphere sort of ^^
Someone here mentioned that he was never into sport bikes until he saw the Panigale in person.
Well, I've always been a sport bike fanatic but recently was transitioning into a different class (due to age and safety concerns). That is until I saw the Panigale. Feels like heaven with all those red bikes around.
Great you guys finally bought a decent mic
i liked the style of the older 916 & 998 but this bike is by far the Hottest Bike i've seen!!
have u ridden a s1000rr yet? you will definitely understand once u have, its such a complete bike in every way, the quick shifter is now my favorite all time bike accessory, so silky smooth i dont know how i loved bikes without it lol
What a beautiful bike!
Me encanta Ducati, es lo mejor 💪
my dream is to one day own a ducati! they are the gems of motorcycles this panigale, i saw one at Indianapolis speedway.... almost cried of the sound =']
one word... BEAUTIFUL

... absolutely understandable. that bike is the bomb!
i rode one for 15 min on normal streets... a pure fun-package on wheels!
Well said! People are always going by the meaningless numbers. I always laugh when I read see the bike vs bike vids. The Ducati is the sexiest bike ever made period.
Can't wait to see the comparo's between the Panigale and the BMW.
The competition has just been blown away... Now they'll really understand what Ducati means...
@jumboshrimp2006 That's the bike i currently own, and it's a full digital display. There is a difference between Full color LCD and a regular Full digital display. My bike is the first Honda to have full digital display. Ducati's have had full digital displays for over 10 years.

@Tomos13 Lol, the sight would be hideous. Although the suspension would probably explode before you had the chance to leave your garage.
Just wondering, is it the most expansive motorcycle Ducati ever made?
Very interesting.. The S and the R models are gonna carry a rather hefty price tag as usual..Looks great though..
MEAN BIKE!!! 2012 baby.. so BADASS!!!!
does the 1199 panigale have electronic limiter?
Hope they make a 899 version...
I own a Suzuki XF 650, 2002, single-cylinder, 66,000 km (40,000 miles), super reliable, a pack mule, you give it oil and gasoline and it will arrive on Mars. ชอบมากๆๆๆๆ ที่สุด
I never thought there would be a better bike than the BMW. Ducati just technically shut the competition the fuck down.
@Dambugger
dont think it is fortunately. that still the demosdeci or whatever its called.
KEVIN DUKE MANE CAN U DO A SHOOTOUT BETWEEN THE NEW 1199 DUC VS THE BEEMER S1K PLEASE!!!!!:))))
Could someone tell me the fuel economy on this bike because it for a project I am doing for school it would be much appreciated
my 2nd bike was a gsxr. started off on a used cbr250r. GSXR's are great.
@dtyndall11 : The BMW doesn't handle as well as the CBR, the GSX-R or the ZX-10R. if the power of the Panigale is as good and the chassis is better, I suspect it won't go well for the BMW. But then the BMW did go under some revisions for 2012...
@Bulgdoom lol, this is the current superbike horsepower leader. How can you complain about getting tons of extra torque as an added bonus.
Only trouble is you have to disassemble the chassis in order to service the engine, which is going to cost more, since the engine is a stressed member.
@Dambugger dont think this is the same one bike or i hope not.
how tall to ride it?
i may not own a motor cycle but i sure want to get into riding them or at least gain the experience to ride this type of ducatti
is it tru that ducati maintenence is 2x higher than a zx10 n a s1k??
I never understood the term " sex on wheels " until I saw this video !!
What a beautiful machine ....
Great job Ducati !!
The 1198 is the last of Ducati's great legacy? Hardly. More like the end of an era and the dawn of the new world-beating superbike.
Bellisima Ducati!
whats the difference between a panigale, an s, or r
whaat panigale has pillion support?
dude holy shit that's what i have been saying!!!! every bike is awesome and they are about the same in performance. it's just a matter of personal preference
is this the same frame design that was used in the motoGP race in 2011? cause if it is then Ducati made a HUGE mistake
I think the bike looks a bit office but the dash is stunning!
you have to do something about the wind noise on your videos
I honestly prefer a lighter bike, compared to the Crosstourer or the BMW GS, so I think my next one, I hope next year, will be the Triumph Tiger 800, similar to the BMW GS 800, but less expensive.
@CASIUS242000 He has to do something about the guy running around twisting throttle while he's talking.
About the difficulty of riding the Ducati in Moto gp, this was a known fact at least at the time of Stoner, but I do not know if the same was true for the Superbike as well. What mere mortal needs a 1200ish cc Superbike? I think it's way more fun to ride a slow bike fast...and by slow I mean a 125hp 800cc
anybody else though "Buell XB's" seeing that exhaust? this would be an awesome toy =]
I want this bike.
Is this guy biased or what? I see less and less fair reviews, is like everyone became a politician... Beautiful bike, but don't care for it, married with my XX.
A lot of people are biased towards ducati a lot of people dream about riding one of these for years so when they get the chance they are going to overlook all the cons
I don't understand why everybody hates on Gsxr owners if i'm honest!
personally, i think the 916 is the most beautifuyl bike ever!
Umm you think the S1000 will destroy the 1199!? You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. The Ducati weighs considerably less, has a lower center of gravity, a couple more horsepower, and better suspension. And it looks better too.
thank you for making me hate being married *thumbs up*
Beauty lies inside the bike.
nice music
it will be a race to see how long you can keep your licence for...
Mine will be gone in 2.9 seconds
Although you're right, we can't forget that most of the clients DON'T track... And all the companies know that and NEED to build a bike nice for the road ass well. A WSBK bike - despite her obvious track performance - wouldn't be such a success saleswise b/c people want to travel with relative comfort... IMHO
0:59, I wish I could see what happened when that wheel came back down.
If you don't think this is the best bike ever, then you drive an electric moped.
@calfan3. yeah they're nice looking bikes for the most part. im not trying to hate on them, i just prefer japanese. or a bmw 1000. and why pay 20 plus thousand for that when you can get a zx-10 or a bmw that will destroy that thing in nearly every aspect?
Is this a review or an advert???
@ everyone. It doesn't matter how great the bike is.... What matters most is how well you can ride it! Put Troy B. on a ninja 250 and the rest of us on a Panigale....... I bet Troy still wins!!!
@harmansg haha
I tried that once and it didn't work for me
that's exactly what i was thinking are u reading my thoughts again
@dumbluck0629 Well, I'm a three time class winner in the WERA Supertwins class, and I didn't need a 20K Ducati to do it. I did it on a "squidly" $8,000 RC51. Just because you wear your leathers when you take your 1098 to Starbucks doesn't mean everyone else is a squid and you're not.

pow a ducati podia fazer as motos com 4 cilindros pra da um ronco manero na moto
I don't think no one will ever buy this Bike knowing what happened in the MotoGP race
I don't really like the look of this particular bike (I like parts of it but not as a whole) but that dash is sexy as hell!
Every liter bike can do 0-60 in 2.x seconds, if you can keep the wheel down. Every liter bike can hit 18x mph. Every liter bike can take a track and do fine. Vivement un face à face avec une certaine Aprilia rsv4 factory aprc !
the few people who disliked own GSXR's

unless your racing professionally.. and by professionally I dont mean local track days.. BOTH bikes are way faster than any of us will ever be.
No more trellis frame :( but my GOD it's pretty!
@polivo0111. i've got a busa that either of these bikes could only dream about ever beating, and i race a new zx-6. (not street legal obviously). so i mean im probably twice as fast with the busa. just saying.
I have a gsxr and an R1. They are way more bang for the buck, IMO. I would get a duc if they were more affordable. I heard the bmw is better tho.
3:48 seems tricky to me ;) Where should the girl sit? There are not even food pegs.
A DUCATI!!!! Build for the workshop!!
very beautiful bike, but i think the 1198 still looks better
best looking bike ever. 2nd is 2006-7 honda cbr1000rr
25 horse power in on of these videos it said the ninja 250r has 26
Really the bike what is everything what i want, but.....
1199 Panigale S ABS 37959,82 €($50072,79.) here at Finland.
