Bruh.......I was not expecting to see anything about Eyedea 13 years after his passing. Good on you.
Damn, how i miss this vid for so long? Growing up in the twin cities as he came up I got mad love for eydea. I was fortunate to meet and hang in a limited capacity with most the cats in the mpls hip-hop scene. As a free styler eydea was head and shoulders above the scene and remains among the best to do it.
RIP Mikey ❤
When i was detoxing from methadone/benzos about 10 years ago I would put Eyedea "The Many Faces Of Oliver Hart" and let it repeat, it was the only thing that helped me get any semblance of rest while being so sick. I'm pretty sure that album saved my life. Eyedea was an otherworldly talent
I'm glad you got clean brother, my mentor was an addict as well and he told me a lot about his struggle. I hope its gotten easier on you
thanks man! its essentially been a lifelong struggle but at the end of the day i liken it to any other struggle that everyone else has to learn to navigate. I started at 13 on opiates and finally got off at 28. Im one of the lucky ones honestly. SO many people have no support system to guide them through life while getting clean and end up homeless and/or dead within a matter of years. I had family behind me who took care of me when i didnt even want to live anymore and obviously thats paramount to getting clean. Grateful is an understatement@@Esciem9
One of my favourite albums ever - so good
Rest in peace to a legend. Smile by Eyedea is also a great one.
Highly HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend The Dive Pt. 1 & The Dive Pt. 2!!
I love all the Rhymesayers content coming from the channel, thank you for making these (:
I second this notion with one caveat: you have to react to both back to back on the same reaction. Part two is a peripeteia of part one
Hell yes to Rhymesayers. Some of my favorite sounds come from them. Needless to say, hearing Aes, Slug, and Eyedea together (The Orphanage) on the same tracks is a beautiful thing to experience.
RIP Michael
Dive part 2 is prob top fav song of all time. Resonates deep
“Smile” is probably E&A’s best song. “Now” is one of my favorites, too.
Imo, “Now “ is his most technically impressive song. He’s going SO FAST.
I think everyone who listens to this song can’t avoid hearing his soul anger and cry for help and that’s the catalyst that makes it one of the most impressionable songs we have heard
Rip Michael Larson
First Born and E&A are so nostalgic for me, I was lucky enough to see them open for Atmosphere in 08
Paradise
Love your channel dude. Here's a list of rappers that been killin it. By the throat is my all time favorite of his
One of my favorite songs of his, god bless u eyedea.... What a incredible person he was
excellent review, I would say that this song was about his ego, and him killing it in essence
RIP Eyedea, one of the best lyricist ever! And what a great way to start listening to him, this track is amazing
Please look at Burn Fetish by Eyedea and Abilities - incredible song
good to see you delve into eyedea man!
REST IN POWER!!!
Birth Of A Fish, ...Powdered Water Too (1), ...Powdered Water Too (2).
r eye p!
So many gems, but "How Much Do You Pay?" is a must for me
Also his blaze battles were something else!
Saw him live once a long time ago. He rapped for 2 and a half hours straight. Then Doseone went on and Michael just went to his booth and sold his own merch. Talked to him for about 20 minutes and even got a cpl selfies with him. What a cool guy.
Hell yeah man, someone who actually understands!! Eyedea was Genius when it cam to music, I highly suggest digging in so so deep in to his catalog. you will not be dissappointed!
Perfect Medicine helped me out a lot when I was younger. R EYE P

There's alot to dive into with eyedea but you should definitely check out a song called "weird side" which is on an album that he released under the name Oliver Hart, which is a pseudonym for the phrase all of her heart and the entire album is a masterpiece really
have you done eyedea pushing buttons so dope acoustic guitar
hell ya been waiting for this one. Thanks.
Man I miss Eyedea
Another one where his delivery was insane is called Miss by a mile
❤This one and Smile are my favorites
This shit go hard
Eye had the honor of chilling with him a couple times at shows
What was he like?
@shanemcdaniels he was super nice, gave me a cig one time outside a show. Another time he talked with my friend's friend on the phone to calm her down because she was having a bad day, and he didn't even know her or my friend. Man I miss his raps. He was gone way too early. R.Eye.P
9:45 The word for that is consonance
Thank you!!!!
dude the final verse on chemical burns, by sadistik, was probably the last verse he recorded, and the lyrics just get more and more haunting, from the first listen in, when heard from the perspective that it was a swan song that remained unheard until a few years later...
I'll look at the next live stream, sounds dope
Also check out his live performance of this track. Pretty much just spoken word performance.
Rain is my #1fav, but theres no bad eyedea track!!
“Junk” might be my favorite by him but I identify with this song almost too much.
The Dive Pt. 1 & 2 - Eyedea
he's not gone if you keep him around. I'm still on feminem posts reminding the stans that Eyedea is feminems rap dad 😂😂😂
R EYE P
do BOTTLED DREAMS BRO
Yo can you do Homeboy Sandman please.
Pick a song
Trauma by Homeboy Sandman
Man, can you slow down that ceiling fan, please?
Getting chilly? 😂
a true legend the best mc on lyrics r.i.p he would have destroyed Eminem in a battle
Play monster inside me
No one has reacted to it 😢 it is 5 min of the best rap I have ever heard and he doesn't even repeat lyrics. He was a monster!
Watch the spoken word version…..
Within the first 30 seconds of the song I know what's going on here... dudes deaf, but TELLS YOU he sold his soul to the devil... have you ever SEEN a deaf person?!? They couldn't do this
HOW MUCH DO YOU PAY-oliver heart (aka eyedea) ((idk why he did an alias, but that track would humble jeff bezos))
Meh.
