Email I just sent to the armadillo trap company... Guys this armadillo has been a thorn in my side for about a month now. I received my trap today. I assembled the trap and set it at 9:15 pm in an area he has been destroying. We were getting ready for bed about 10:40 pm and I saw my neighbors motion flood light come on...and there he was. He walked straight to the trap and walked in. So your trap caught this cleaver little varmint in less then an 1 1/2 hrs! Best money I have ever spent! Thank you so much. 9-29-19 Well I now have to eat some crow about my endorsement of this trap. After a short period of time the scent goes away leaving you with just a wooden box trap. I have set this trap multiple times after my 1st catch and have had 0% success rate. You can imagine my disappointment. Just reporting the facts.
@@johnt9320: Thanks for telling us, John. That's what I was afraid of. The seller of these contraptions ought to sell armadillo piss so we can re-scent the boxes if need be. Now there's a million dollar idea! 😂 So the scent wore off and it's useless now? I guess it's back to the drawing board of how to get close to it in the middle of the night and beat/shoot it. 🤨 They are indeed evil bastards.
When I saw this trap I thought it has to be a scam. I've had problems with Armadillos in may yard and have tried eveything. I've tried wire live traps, camping out trying to shoot them, you name it I've tried it. I finally decide to try one. I put it out last night and checked it this morning and I had a big fat armadillo. You coud see his tracks in the wet grass. He came across my neighbor's yard across my yard and stright into the trap. I mean he made a bee line to the trap and didn't waver at all.. I must say I'm a believer now.
I ordered this trap one year ago and it worked great, trapped about 10 armadillos. Now I have used it for a week to try to trap a nuisance armadillo, but it has not been working. I always keep the trap dry, away from water. Not sure if the scent wore off or why it does not work anymore?
Depending on how long since the last armadillo has been in it, I would say the scent can wear off. I build my own traps and getting the first one for the year is always the hardest
Was hoping to say some good things about this product, but can't. Build quality was poor as the trap doors wouldn't fit into the grooves on the bottom of the trap. Trap doors also bind as they are falling. No response from owner to emails.
Your video might have been better had you filmed it at a slightly higher angle so we could see a bit more of a top view of the trap, as well as an end-view, instead of just a side view. Also suggest providing some additional video (or simply a more comprehensive video) showing: 1) the trap in action, actually trapping an armadillo at night and showing the armadillo's point-of-view approaching the trap at ground level. 2) how the trap is triggered by the armadillo touching the dangling center pole. 3) stressing the importance of properly positioning the trap for best results, and 4) how to funnel/guide the armadillo into a trap using boards/tree limbs, etc. Your trap arrived via UPS today and my expectations were met in terms of it being well-constructed and easy to set-up with clear instructions. It is deployed tonight. I believe your trap is properly-sized. Some large armadillos have been digging-up my garden, and this trap should handle them comfortably. Good luck and thanks for supplying a well-designed product. I like the 2-door design.

Though these traps work, there surely are easier more consistent traps to use that take up far less space.
