And the manga has her eventually break and cry, once the pain is too great for that "mask" to keep hiding it. She pretends to be happy and cheerful to those around her, but in truth, she's suffering emotionally. I am allot like her in that way. Suffering from depression, and masking the pain from troubling those around me. Pushing on despite that pain, for those important to me. For me, that depression comes from my past regrets. For Kotone though, her pain is much different in causes
