I am just finishing an 8 year journey through the Bible. From Genesis to Revelation. At the beginning of the journey God had me literally throw away all of my previous thoughts, opinions and even beliefs. It was going to God, His Word and me. That's all. In that journey God has shown me how to approach and handle His Word. During that time I would at times stop and begin doing a topical study on a subject that I was coming across. It would not last long because God would tell me to go on with what we have started together. I am going to start my next journey through the Bible soon. This time God wants me to ask, "What does this passage say about Me?" A few months ago a Christian friend of mine at work told me about Behold Your God. This was before I had any idea what my next journey through His Word would be. God was and is preparing me for this next journey through His Word about Him.
