- In this video I over some strategies to use to help you circumvent Guile's sonic booms both from afar and from up close. We also look at his Sonic Blade and some of his common oki situations.

Starting out I am getting bodied by zangiefs and kens but am anxious to face a proper zoner like guile. The examples of how to face opponents Oki is a perfect teaching tool thank you.

I didn’t either until I started looking at it. I almost left that part out of the video. I had the whole thing processed and realized I didn’t put it in, which is why the audio is different during that part.

Got any tips on dealing with Jamie? He's by far my worst matchup.
You can check his drive rush with stand medium punch if you’re paying attention. Use crouch light kick if you have trouble checking with MP.
You can punish his sweep with towards medium punch.
His OD DP only hits once against your armor. This means he can’t DP out of MP TC charged light Gladius. It also means you can use a delayed command grab that will armor through DP and non low normals, and can still grab delay tech.
Remember, if he uses kick rekka into drink in the corner he isn’t plus. Feel free to mash. His LK DP knockdown is a safe jump in the corner.

Any suggestions against Guiles who like to drive rush in behind a boom? Having a lot of trouble with that on ranked.
I needed a social media break for awhile. I actually just rejoined the discord I think yesterday(?).
Rivalries are always a lot of fun.
Boom into DR is one of the things I ended up not covering in the video, but I think the most important thing to remember is that he has no down charge, so if he does it from too far away, you should be able to jump over. Gladius is good too if you can armor through the boom and hit the DR. And, of course, blocking isn’t bad. You want him to be next to you, so if you can successfully block the mix you’re a lot closer to your win condition than his.

When should I go for a safe jump in a match against going for an Oki setup, also wanted to know what training mode setting you use to train safe jumps, I can't get it consistently.
That’s really a matter of personal preference to be honest. There really isn’t a bad option. If they have a DP there really isn’t a reason to not go for the safe jump.
To practice safe jumps, just have the opponent wake up with their OD reversal and, after doing your Superman Punch, just hold up forward. The real key is to make sure you delay your jump normal a little bit.
