When difficult customers call for more product after a blow up like that, then jump through hoops to get you to come, (pre-pay), that means they have burned every single other bridge there is, and you’re the only one that will put up with them. I would raise the price accordingly, because they will burn you one of these times... Badly.
I very recently converted to wood heat and have been paying between $250 and $300 for a full "dry" cord (When I split to measure they seem to always be around 25%, some a wee less, some a lot more) and $175 ish for half cord. Delivery is usually local and $25-ish. I've seen it as high as $400 to come and pick it up yourself... but that's usually stuff that's years old aged and closer to Seattle. Ugh, that unappreciative Karen! I'd absolutely LOVE to be able to buy one of your beautiful truckloads!
I like how ya handled that. We have had only 1 customer act like that, but I told her not to call me again & drove out of her driveway without unloading. It was a 60 mile round trip but I just delivered to another customer on the way home. Sure upset me tho!
Hey great channel. Being in business for many years,, I think sometimes people get to much in their head.. They sometimes draw to many conclusions about you from the slightest tiff. Where do you get your wood from ? A wholesaler, tree service or a land clearing operation ?

A Rick and a face cord are the same thing. A face cord of wood is 16 inches wide, 4 feet tall and 8 feet long. A full cord of wood is 4 feet wide, 4 feet tall and 8 feet long.
Thats some damn expensive wood! For that money here in scandinavia (100eur ~ 125usd) you would get 2m3 (by google its 0.55 cord) stacked, dry wood which for that money is 100% birch. Other than birch is cheaper.
Some people dont know how to put wood in a fireplace or woodstove for it to burn good or think the woods wet cause they also dont know how to start a fire in either a fireplace or woodstove belive I know a few people like that

I haven't sold any wood in a while but would charge about $100.00 to deliver a 8 ft bed about 8 inches above sides of truck that's about the going rate here in SC, must be a regional thing, don't take offense just different cost of living I suppose.

I guess what I don't understand is I know what propane, natural gas, and to some degree electricity cost for much of the country and it would be far cheaper than the wood in most cases, I understand having some on hand for power outages but not for primary heat, do people there just like burning wood? So few people burn wood around here that most hardwoods when cut, this is a tree city town, trees everywhere, those trees just go to land fill red and white oaks lots of times over 3feet across.

No its not. I sell a quarter cord 4x4x2 for 150 thats delivered and stacked. Remember these purchases are for the customers pleasure not necessity purchases. If this customer is a true burner this load will last about a week.

Your offloading could be more efficient ! -you’re losing time and money taking all that time to offload inefficiently. But means a little cash investment if you’re going to store and deliver your logs in crates or bags or IBC’s. Better standard of size and quantity delivered if you did store and deliver in some kind of pallet or box or bag though. Good Luck!

I clearly let the customer know that a level (with sides and top of tailgate) tossed in load makes a stack approximately 4’ x 8’ x 16”
