I’m a big fan of ecru, beiges, mochas, etc. that can be so rich looking. Those pillows are the bomb and you’re the queen of ruffles! Your work is so neat and professional looking, shows a lot of patience, as I know. It’s so satisfying to create beautiful projects on your own, thanks for the lesson.
Thank you my friend; I love these colors for Fall decorating! I make lots of pillows for each holiday and season, as they quickly add charm around my home. Creating large ruffles is a bit time consuming, but I listen to music or watch some Hallmark Mystery movies as I’m happily working through those gathers!
Beautiful items! I love how you explain each step. You do such a neat job on your projects, so unlike those who are in a big hurry to get done. And I'm so glad you are using an iron on your seams--that is something that most sewers forget. My teacher told me that the iron is as important as the sewing machine! Blessings
Hello Joanne, and thank you so much! I’m certainly one who enjoys taking time while I’m creating these projects. To me, it’s such a fun and relaxing process, and I want others to enjoy creating these projects for themselves too! And I totally agree with you regarding the importance of properly ironing the seams. It just makes sewn projects look more polished to me too!
Hi Becky! I just love the three crafts you created today! I need new coasters so this is perfect! Thank you for sharing these fun easy crafts with us. If you find more drop cloth projects, I hope you share with us!! Take care!
Hello rosezrose! I’m going to make a few more sets of those coasters for Christmas. I also have more drop cloth projects planned, but I need to find good drop cloths. I bought one that I can’t use in sewing projects because it still looks dingy gray after multiple washes. I’m working on a new video using Sherpa fabric. Lots of fuzzy fun coming soon!
Wonderful ideas with drop cloth. My favorite was the mason jar cover. I’m not a big fan of French country but these ideas can go with just everything. ♥️😊👍
Hi Becky! As usually, i like the details and the neatness of your projects as well as the clarity you explain everything with. Such a huge difference with some so called "creators". I liked the pouch very much! Thank you 🥰🥰
Hello Candice, and thank you so much! I get excited every time I record a video. I refer to my viewers as “the girls” to my husband. As I’m planning out the projects, I say, “I can’t wait to show the girls how to make these!”
Thank you Patricia! I try to break down each project into smaller steps so viewers can understand and follow along. I’m glad you enjoyed these projects today!
Beth, thank you for your kind compliment! My precious momma was an excellent seamstress who filled me with love for sewing and crafting. Hopefully I am encouraging that same love in others!
Thank you Marcha! Ruffles certainly do take some work to get evenly distributed. I sew quite often adding ruffles, but I just listen to a podcast or some calming music while I wrestle with my fabric!
Thank you for your kind words Michelle; I appreciate you watching all the way from Malta! I’m glad you enjoyed these projects and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hi Becky! I missed this video yesterday. And the reason is I wasn't notified by youtube! Your video just happened to pop up on my home feed. I checked & I'm subscribed & have the notification bell on all. Idk what's going on! Anyway I love these projects. You make the prettiest ruffles! ❤
Thank you Mary! I’ve had that same thing happen to me as well with Our Greene Acres. Sometimes I just don’t receive the notifications. I’m glad you found me and I appreciate you watching!
Thank you Jann! I was very fortunate that my mother was an excellent seamstress to teach me. I also took Home Economics classes in high school with sewing courses, so I’ve been sewing for 40 years now.
You are so talented! How old were you when you learned to sew? You make it look so easy! I can’t even thread my machine😂. I would love to one day make this beautiful pillow. I have to find someone who can show me how to use mine. Is 54 too old to learn? LOL
Thank you Theresa! I’ve been sewing for about 40 years. My mother was an excellent seamstress and I also had classes while in high school. I think it’s never too late to learn new things. I’m a few months away from 60, and I’m still learning too!
I loved the dropcloth videos so much - I think it would make a great series!!! Speaking of dropcloth...do you have a specific brand/link you would recommend? Your dropcloth looks so nice and thick! Thank you and love your teaching style - you are so detailed and to the point!! Have a blessed day! -Michele
Hi Michele, and thank you for your kind comments! I usually purchase my drop cloth from either Home Depot or Walmart. I also wash them twice after letting them soak in bleach for about 30 minutes before each washing. Hope this helps!
@@EdwinaOakley I’m okay, but my youngest sister just had an emergency medical incident and I would appreciate your prayers and positive thoughts for her!
I just want to let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. The last time we chatted your sister wasn’t doing well. I hope things are better for her and you. 🙏🏻❤️😊
@@EdwinaOakley thank you for thinking about me and my sister! Her situation was very dire for a bit. At one point the family was called to the hospital to say goodbye, because they felt her death was imminent. But God, in His infinite mercy, has allowed her to recover. She spent almost the entire month of September in the hospital, but is now home. She still has a very long road ahead of her. They said it will take months for her to regain her strength due to the massive blood loss she suffered. I’m just so thankful that she’s still alive and she says she’s feeling better each day! We are all physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually exhausted right now but praising God for the miracle that we saw happen in that hospital room! Again, I can’t thank you enough Edwina, and ask for your continued prayers for my family!
@@kindashabby Praise the Lord she is home. I will definitely keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers. God is good all the time…all the time God is good! 😊🙏🏻❤️
Gorgeous projects, Becky!! I'm loving that ruffled pillow! Gotta try that for my bedroom. Do the coasters need any kind of sealant or are they meant to be just decorative? I wasn't sure I'd missed anything. I rewound but never saw anything and, sometimes, I look too hard and miss the obvious! 🤷😂
Hello Ema, and thank you! The fabric ink used for all these projects is machine washable after drying for 72 hours and heat setting. Next time I use this ink, I’ll be sure to state that in the video!
Hello Teri; I’m so glad you’re here! IOD is short for Iron Orchid Designs, which sell fabulous crafting supplies. I purchase mine online from My Victorian Heart. You can also visit the Iron Orchid Designs website, enter your zip code, and find a retailer near you. Thanks for watching!
Hello Jan, and thank you! I agree that it’s getting harder to find good drop cloths here lately. I always double wash my drop cloth after letting it soak for about 30 minutes in bleach each time. I usually purchase them from Home Depot or Walmart. I used to order from Amazon, but the quality isn’t great anymore.
