Man, putting the new figure next to the First Edition Arcee reminded me how cool a more art-inspired approach can be. Taking her curvy design and turning it into flat blocks for the sake of G1 just looks awful.
Im certainly open to the idea of new character designs - god knows the franchise desperately needs that - but the old Prime figures are virtually inaccessible today (especially the really good ones like First Edition Bulkhead), and even the APC Toys KOs all sell out fairly quickly. There's clearly demand for screen-Accurate TF Prime figures and it really suck that Hasbro decided to go in different direction instead. I wouldnt be surprised if these toys underperform and Hasbro takes that to mean no one wants TFP toys.
This was my most anticipated figure of Legacy. I always expected a g1 translation of the blue motorcycle Arcee rather than a Prime style remake (hoping that happens at some point, but it was never meant to be legacy). I've warmed up to Bulkhead quite a bit, but I *hate* this re-design. The torso last all dimension by being squished flat. The face lost all personality -and was poorly sculpted with the squared pink flares. The legs are just plain bad ly designed by all standards. Even the motorcycle lost some attitude with those rounded headlights. A crushing disappointment over all.
I do feel that the Legacy Voyager Bulkhead is a mix between Prime (head), Animated (the vehicle mode being a military vehicle) with the mix of G1 which is a very interesting idea. As far as Legacy Prime Arcee looks decent well done. I do hope that they can make a Flamewar version of that figure.
I just don't like the proportions, Bulkhead usually has short legs and big arms and all of his limbs are chubby, plus he is too blocky. These legacy figures of "Prime" have been a disappointment
I meant the vehicle mode reminded me of Animated. Remember that RtS Lugnut? It has both the movie look mixed with the Animated look. Or the Thrilling 30th Blitzwing having the Animated Gimmick on a cybertronian G1 body
Finally got Arcee after months of waiting and I love her. I have no previous attachment to the character and have no previous versions to compare or refer to so I am coming to this fresh. Personally I absolutely love both robot and bike modes. I really enjoy the transformation and find it a really nice figure to display in either mode. The wheels on the side of the calves don't bother me at all, not saying they are aesthetically pleasing but they don't bother me. I don't have a large collection by any means but this figure is certainly one of my favorites.
I was starting to doubt if I was actually going to like this figure (especially the face sculpt) and after seeing your review I feel better about this figure and I'm planning to get it when it comes out.
I wish this was more accurate to the Prime design. Prime Arcee's design is sleek -- that is the key part of the aesthetic. While making her blocky to fit into the G1 aesthetic is fine, they over did it here. She just looks way too clunky, and I think it's the legs throwing me off. They really should fold into the legs, or at least hang closer to them.
Flamewar redeco and minor retool need to happen out of this figure. It just have to since we have a new opportunity to do that where she isn't a BotCon exclusive for once.
🙂 ok I just picked this up. When she’s in robot mode… if you pop off the side panels that are on the front of the bike and reverse them, they give her the look of the flared out ‘wings’ in blue and she looks 20% better imo!
I must say that I love this figure, the robot mode looks so good but IMO the legs would look way better if they would find a way to somehow swing those wheels back to the calf’s. Not only would it look better from the front but also at the back since it would at least cover up those exposed joints. But overall I think this figure turned out great 👍
If hasbro are going to incorporate different characters from different continuities of the transformers brand, they should cater to the ones they respectively came from, I don't really wanna see non-G1 characters brought back in a G1-style, which totally misses the point of the whole Legacy line gimmick. I was really expecting updated and more show accurate versions of the non-G1 characters they're bringing in. Since we didn't quite get this in "this" wave, I opted out pre-ordering Arcee and Bulkhead. They're cool figures, don't get me wrong, but they are not in the style I hoped them to be in. G1 has had its day, hasbro, move it to the side and let the other continuities take the stage and shine this time. Just saying
Just wait. Millennials outnumber Gen X... eventually they'll be chasing your money... I just hope they let us finish our G1 cartoon and Japanese continuity figures before we die.
I don't think this design is all that different from her actual Prime design. The differences are very subtle when compared to how different Bulkhead looks. The main differences... The robot mode looks a bit more gender neutral. It doesn't really make sense for Arcee to be blocky in a G1 aesthetic because female Transformers were never really that blocky in G1 to begin with. Her original appearance would already fit right in with the G1 aesthetic without any changes done to it. Making her a bit more blocky like this I think is to accommodate later reuses of the mold to possibly appear as a male character. This version still works for a female Arcee but I could easily see this mold being retooled into a more masculine design later down the line. The original version of Prime Arcee with how the proportions worked could only ever be used to make female characters. A male retool wouldn't have worked. But this mold has some gender neutral proportions that could make it work as male or female with some simple retooling. The side panels on her vehicle mode have changed from having a double spike design to just being flat and I'm not sure why they did that. They could have elongated those panels to look more like Prime Arcee. Because of that I think the robot mode actually looks more like the character than the vehicle mode does. The vehicle mode really feels like the bike was designed for future reuses and not for Arcee. It's a nice motocycle mode I just don't think it works for the character it's suppose to be. The arms also could have used some different tooling to give her more of that Prime Arcee look. It looks OK from a side on view but from a top view again the back end of Arcee's motorcycle comes to a point where as her arm panels make the back end flat. Again I think this would look fine on future reuses of the mold but it doesn't fit the design of Arcee. Because of the changes to the vehicle mode I think she looks better in robot mode. The vehicle mode just doesn't feel like the correct style of motorcycle for Prime Arcee. And of course the weapons which I agree is a huge misstep. The arm blades look nothing like Prime Arcee's actual arm blades from the show. I thought they were designed that way to store inside one of the tires but no they just hang out awkwardly in the vehicle mode so why do they form a circle? The other weapon doesn't even look like anything and should of been her arm blaster. Despite the flaws she still looks a lot more screen accurate than Bulkhead. Personally I never liked Bulkhead's design to begin with and actually prefer the more G1 aesthetic but the fact that they're marketing the figure as Prime Bulkhead when it looks nothing like the Prime design just feels wrong to me. This I can still see as a Prime Arcee. Bulkhead I feel should just G1 Bulkhead and should not be marketed as the Prime version of the character because it's not the Prime design. He's got as much in common with Prime as he does with the Animated version which is basically just a vaguely similar head design and color scheme but they're all very different vehicles. Either Hasbro should make a show accurate representation if they're going to market him as Prime Bulkhead or they should just market him to be G1 Bulkhead but they can't have it both ways. All that said... I would really love Animated characters done in this style. I've always hated the proportions on those designs so to see them redone like Generations Blitzwing or Legacy Bulkhead would improve those designs for me.
I’ve had no actual issues with Legacy (Prime universe) Arcee, she’s just gotten an unexpected new and G1 themed style. I see some of the problems that people have pointed out after looking at her more thoroughly, specifically the head and chest which I also feel like could of been fixed but even so it’s not a big deal. I’m going to pick up Arcee after I get Dragstrip so that my Legacy collection isn’t solely Decepticons.
I sadly still can't get over the Design of this Figure, while i get why they went in that direction i still wished they just did the Original Design. I actually Do believe they would've been Able to Surpass the Old First Edition one since they Managed to Upgrade the G1 Designs in WFC. After all thats what makes them Special right? And knowing that a Potential Legacy TV Series is coming and has the Multiverse as the Main Event just.....makes my Hype go away since i Really wanted to See These Different and Unique Designs Clash With eachother i mean Imagine Prime Megatron Meeting Beast Wars Megatron for example But now they get G1-ified and it won't have nearly the Same impact if its Even Happening Still a great Review^^
I recently aquired a FE Arcee and looking at it, have cancelled my pre-order of this figure. It feels like a comparison of a Masterpiece and a leader class. Honestly, the best thing they could have done was reissue the FE figure with some arm blades and blasters that were paint matched. I understand some may like it but I find it to be a letdown. When we saw were getting a Prime Arcee, I expected alot more than this. The wheels on the legs are too kibble-ish, the wheel drone feels lazy and the energon arm blades just make it feel cheep. I appreciate the stellar review as it was very detailed and has, as always, helped me decide if this figure is something I want. Keep up the good work man.
It looks so weird face wise, like for the Prime series, them having Irises was a natural thing, this one she just have those blank eye piping eyes. It's like she's soulless or something.
Honestly, I feel like they could have done a G1 Arcee mold in her original pink and white color scheme instead of trying to redesign TFP Arcee's appearance. Might have angered less people in the process.
Imagine Evasion Optimus Prime but with his Peterbilt semi truck from the first 3 movies. It seems impossible but somehow with a faux chest it would probably work for a toy. I'm not really giving Hasbro any ideas here.
It's okay, but I really wish that these were show accurate. G1 started Transformers, but it's not all the brand has to offer. G1 needs to take a backseat, other than the characters that aren't already in the WFC-scale.
The design itself looks so sick and badass that I just needed it for my collection! The motorcycle itself also looks so clean and slick like the original version of the Prime Arcee.
I just wish I'd gotten into TFP and collecting toys when the original version was on the shelves. I managed to grab the fugly "Beast Hunters" version. Much prefer that KO version, but the price for it now is really steep.
I had hope for Legacy, and fully prepared myself to blow an obscene amount of money on Transformers (since I recently got back into the hobby) but I don't think I'm excited anymore. All the figures I was interested in were Prime and Armada Starscream, and with the heinous things they've done to the Prime characters, I'm not excited for that anymore.
Honestly this is a bit disappointing. I would have preferred if they kept the Prime figures more stylized like the designs from the show, but otherwise in scale with recent bots. And this is coming from a G1 fanboy... Thank you for another comprehensive review!
It looks a little bit better than I expected, but I still loath this Arcee! Hasbro could have and should have given us accurate recreations of the on screen Prime characters, but instead they screwed around with it and got lazy! If they couldn't develop any new and accurate molds, I think Hasbro should have just reissued the original Prime toys. I never had any myself, so I definitely would have picked me up a reissue of both Prime Megatron and Prime Bulkhead.
I'm not loving the blocky torso - I'm sure there will be upgrade kits - but I honestly don't know if there's ever been a Generations motorbike mode that looks this good. Maybe T30 Wreck-Gar, but that was a different style and had so many engineering issues.
Cybertron ransack was a pretty good toy. I’m actually winding if they could repaint this into him considering the kibble is in identical places. Even the arms form the same for the backseat
me personally i really like the Primeverse redesigns bc bulkhead get's a more wrecker accurate vehicle mode but at the time when the first episode came out they already modeled him a vehicle mode so i hope they redesign Rachet,Optimus,Bumblebee, and MORE!!!
Honestly, I like this figure way more than I expected too I already really liked Bulkhead, but I might get her as well. I’d love to see a Legacy Prime Cliffjumper, that’d be awesome
After seeing the pictures I was undecided about her. Now after seeing your vid, I'm glad I still have the Prime toy. As for Bulkhead, it's all down to personal opinion, and mine is "no thanks, it looks awful". Hasbro's saving me plenty of money in 22
It is not a bad idea to redesign or Universe-ize some characters. In fact, they have done it before with outstanding results, RTS Lugnut is a good example of it. But, everyone and their mother wanted true to form figures. I wish Hasbro just did that with a line exclusive to remake Non G1, Non Movie designs for series like RID 2001, Prime, the Unicron Trilogy and Animated...
What is the "continuity" on this line. Is this the Arcee from the Prime universe, or has Arcee from Earthrise reformmatted? Figure doesn't look bad, but I prefer the original Prime arcee toy. No desire to get an inferior version for nostalgic reasons when old one still on the shelf.
Rumors have that this is a Premold of G2 Road Rocket, presumably with a new head, maybe a different chest, and much more interesting weapons. In any case, this feels a bit too thick for Prime Arcee. I'm not a fan of deluxe motorcycles... but a Core Class Prime Arcee might have been welcome.
Don't like the robot mode.... Don't know why they had to G1 it. Love the motorcycle mode though. Kind of scared about Armada Starscream's Legacy figure.....
I have this figure and I like it, but I grew up with Prime. When I think of transformers, I either think of prime or the movies, so it kind of annoys me that when they did prime designs for legacy they made it fit into the g1 aesthetic.
La motocicleta se parece a la vista en las filtraciones de rise of the beast, esperemos que no lo remoldeen está figura para la línea de juguetes de esta película
I’d want to see a comparison to wreck-gar. Liking this chug style done to her. But if I was a TFP fan coming back, I would probably not like it and want a more true to show figure.
Robot mode isn't perfect (no matter what it seems any design of Arcee will always as a bit of a kibble problem), but I love this design regardless. Imo creating a uniform art style for modern TFs is awesome!
Exactly. They gave us the perfect figure so what’s the point of this? The backpack is t so bad? Its the entire front of the bike and it’s massive. You’re being very generous with the bike part. The thighs and fists are painfully obvious. I’m not getting this unless I can get it really cheap
For some reason when I clicked on the video the aspect ratio was stretched to 4:3 and the music combined with the vertically flattened Arcee face made me laugh
It’s nice I suppose but why can’t we just get show accurate designs? The original prime line didn’t have many options and they weren’t very accurate and it’s been like 85% G1 ever since.
Why does everything have to be g1 we literally just got a earthrise with g1 character designs this was their chance to make something different out of a fan favorite show and they made redesigns nobody asked for we had some many toy lines based of the g1 characters.
My issue is all that transparent plastic. We all as tf collectors know well that like GPS, clear plastic is a major pain in a collection. To the point it makes a collector cringe upon seeing a figure with transparent plastic. And as he stated the fairing is painted over transparent plastic.
Of course we’re not allowed to have proper updates of characters from Transformers Prime. That would imply that Hasbro actually cares about any of the other fans, but they don’t. Now it’s just G1 everywhere and as someone who loves G1 I’m genuinely upset because I love more than just G1. We were all led to believe that Legacy would be a toyline that celebrated the franchise as a whole with updated figures of characters from Beast Wars, the Unicron Trilogy, and TF Prime. What we got was just a bunch of G1. Skids, Kickback, and Dragstrip are all G1. The Optimus is G2 but that’s just G1 2.0. And then what should’ve been the Prime Bulkhead was G1-ified while Arcee is just absolute trash. I know that there are listings for Beast Wars figures but those are really the only figures I’m looking forward to. This is just disappointing and I’m sick of it, other fans matter just as much as G1 fans. Last year may have been the 35th anniversary of the animated movie but it was also the 25th anniversary of Beast Wars and yet Hasbro couldn’t be bothered to give us the whole season 1 cast and instead gave us rereleases of crappy Earthrise figures. Oh and don’t forget that last year was also the 10th anniversary of Dark of the Moon, and the only DOTM figure we got in the SS line was Dino, that’s it. We only got one DOTM figure in the entire year, the 10th anniversary of ROTF saw the reveal of the SS Devastator and the release of the SS Jetfire that could combine with Optimus. Hasbro is the parent that plays favorites, treating G1 like the golden child that is perfect in every way and neglecting literally everything else that has come from the franchise.
I rather see more updated accurate designs for me arcee looks like a man with that squarehead and the chest isn’t that good enough I’m still sticking with apc toys they look so much better then the legacy arcee
I actually don’t mind(or care about giving non-G1 figures a G1 aesthetic), and the back kibble doesn’t matter to me, but the leg kibble is what puts me off for some reason.
Reminds me of the red motorcycle dude from the cybertron series. It's a neat idea to make them look old school but it be cooler if they were show accurate

Shut up! It is your problem, you nagger!
Thanks for the review. I really don't like anything about legacy so far. I don't like the concept of "generifying" non-G1 designs, I don't like the cheap and simple-looking designs and transformations, I don't like the clear plastic weapons they seem to be implementing, and I don't even like the font for "legacy" haha! Overall it seems like an entire line that I can just skip, which is disappointing. At least I can look forward to a slow trickle of studio series bayverse and rotb stuff...
Not even G2 Prime?
If it looks G1 enough I’m sure they’ll eat it up.
I guess Iron Hide 86 is much more worthy of a purchase?
If we don't get this retooled as flamewar I'll be sad
I do feel that the Legacy Voyager Bulkhead is a mix between Prime (head), Animated (the vehicle mode being a military vehicle) with the mix of G1 which is a very interesting idea.
As far as Legacy Prime Arcee looks decent well done. I do hope that they can make a Flamewar version of that figure.
I just don't like the proportions, Bulkhead usually has short legs and big arms and all of his limbs are chubby, plus he is too blocky.
These legacy figures of "Prime" have been a disappointment
That box ass shit has nothing of animated in it.
It's purely a g1 bulkhead and thank God they at least got the jaw right
I meant the vehicle mode reminded me of Animated.
Remember that RtS Lugnut? It has both the movie look mixed with the Animated look.
Or the Thrilling 30th Blitzwing having the Animated Gimmick on a cybertronian G1 body
Prime Arcee was one of my favourite characters, I loved her design but this figure does nothing for me.
I love the figure I just wish she still add the back wings like the cartoon design
As a whole, I'm not digging these Legacy figures at all - perhaps I'm still hung up on the WFC line finishing.
Watch her be a damn Amazon exclusive & not even a Wal Mart or Target one (marginally less sucky) 😠
Nice figure.
But that one is not arcee. Not the one from Tf's Prime.
@Edagar To can't blame you that's not transformers prime arcee at all.
But overall I think this figure turned out great 👍
Nothing beats APC Angel Engine Arcee that you already reviewed. My favorite figure.
Just saying
It's the g1 crowd who has all the money.
Ok. That’s really long
essay andy, jesus christ
Fair points. My biggest gripe is her face
I didn’t read all of that but I agree.
I do love arcee's voice actress, very good performances pulled off in transformers prime
Think I’ll be skipping this wave. The TFP Arcee was a great figure, this is several steps back.
Her transformation is BEAUTIFUL!! I am going to love adding her to my collection!!😍🥰😍
And knowing that a Potential Legacy TV Series is coming and has the Multiverse as the Main Event just.....makes my Hype go away since i Really wanted to See These Different and Unique Designs Clash With eachother i mean Imagine Prime Megatron Meeting Beast Wars Megatron for example
But now they get G1-ified and it won't have nearly the Same impact if its Even Happening
Still a great Review^^
I'm going to wait and see what the mold is repainted into.
Yesss! Good idea!
It looks so weird face wise, like for the Prime series, them having Irises was a natural thing, this one she just have those blank eye piping eyes. It's like she's soulless or something.
Dead stripper eyes. H@wt
I did like the legacy Arcee review, just wish it was 100% screen accurate to the show and another thing hasbro missed was her blaster’s
I’m saying this now. This mold is perfect for Cybertron Ransack!!
Honestly, I feel like they could have done a G1 Arcee mold in her original pink and white color scheme instead of trying to redesign TFP Arcee's appearance. Might have angered less people in the process.
In terms of this concept, I'd LOVE to get some live action characters in G1 style in this line.
Jolt, Ironhide, Blackout, lots of great opportunities.
Imagine Evasion Optimus Prime but with his Peterbilt semi truck from the first 3 movies. It seems impossible but somehow with a faux chest it would probably work for a toy. I'm not really giving Hasbro any ideas here.
Um bumblebee ss
I don't think Arcee was the primary intention of this mold...I may be wrong. The repaint is going to fit this mold way better than Arcee.
Honestly this is a bit disappointing. I would have preferred if they kept the Prime figures more stylized like the designs from the show, but otherwise in scale with recent bots. And this is coming from a G1 fanboy... Thank you for another comprehensive review!
Good lord I’m so tired of the G1 aesthetic. I get it. Without G1 we wouldn’t have what we have now, but seriously. Not everything needs to become G1.
I would love to see a G1 Arcee with the color scheme and head sculpt of her Prime version.
10:08 "pun intended" LOL
I'm not loving the blocky torso - I'm sure there will be upgrade kits - but I honestly don't know if there's ever been a Generations motorbike mode that looks this good. Maybe T30 Wreck-Gar, but that was a different style and had so many engineering issues.
If I end up buying this figure I'll definitely try to file away at its "ribs" to give the upper torso a little more taper.
Cybertron ransack was a pretty good toy. I’m actually winding if they could repaint this into him considering the kibble is in identical places. Even the arms form the same for the backseat
I'd love to see a Junkion-themed version as Wreck-Gar's love interest, Nancy (and/or Rum-Maj).
me personally i really like the Primeverse redesigns bc bulkhead get's a more wrecker accurate vehicle mode but at the time when the first episode came out they already modeled him a vehicle mode so i hope they redesign Rachet,Optimus,Bumblebee, and MORE!!!
A prime universe bee would basically be same as the ss100 but g1ified😂
Honestly, I like this figure way more than I expected too
I already really liked Bulkhead, but I might get her as well. I’d love to see a Legacy Prime Cliffjumper, that’d be awesome
I was rewatching Animated and I actually can see a Sari retool out of this.
After seeing the pictures I was undecided about her. Now after seeing your vid, I'm glad I still have the Prime toy.
As for Bulkhead, it's all down to personal opinion, and mine is "no thanks, it looks awful".
Hasbro's saving me plenty of money in 22
this review definitely changed what I first thought about this figure
It is not a bad idea to redesign or Universe-ize some characters. In fact, they have done it before with outstanding results, RTS Lugnut is a good example of it. But, everyone and their mother wanted true to form figures. I wish Hasbro just did that with a line exclusive to remake Non G1, Non Movie designs for series like RID 2001, Prime, the Unicron Trilogy and Animated...
This is a near perfect Arcee dedicated to Prime Arcee!
Wow, this is the first time ever that a transformer has had chucke cheese pizza cutter as an accessory!
I hope hasbro get the message that a lot of people don't like the reimagined prime designs and come up with something better
I have this figure and I like it, but I grew up with Prime. When I think of transformers, I either think of prime or the movies, so it kind of annoys me that when they did prime designs for legacy they made it fit into the g1 aesthetic.
Honestly Prime Arcee looks better up-close in person than in render images. Although she needs some better engineering.
I don't know why people hate this figure, its amazing to me but the face kinda bad i give it 8.99/10
Because everybody want a arcee prime original
i miss the prime days
Exactly. They gave us the perfect figure so what’s the point of this? The backpack is t so bad? Its the entire front of the bike and it’s massive. You’re being very generous with the bike part. The thighs and fists are painfully obvious. I’m not getting this unless I can get it really cheap
I’ll never be ok with hasbro pandering solely to g1’ers cuz it’s easy and most of there profit comes off the backs of g1 designs
I don’t mind the legs. They just had to hint at that groove remold lmao
Cool figure but I really hate this new “energon weapon” gimmick thing, I wish they would just replace them with a normal gun
For some reason when I clicked on the video the aspect ratio was stretched to 4:3 and the music combined with the vertically flattened Arcee face made me laugh
This is totally gonna be retooled as road rocket, calling it now
For me, it represents what i would want a Generations figure to be, with homages to multiple Transformers series. I really kind of like it.
Clear Plastic is fine
I wonder if the “drone” is supposed to be a hoverboard. Can it attach to her feet?
She looked cooler then I initially thought
I rather see more updated accurate designs for me arcee looks like a man with that squarehead and the chest isn’t that good enough I’m still sticking with apc toys they look so much better then the legacy arcee
When they use this mould for Groove I'll deffo pick it up.
They also added a nose to this prime Arcee figure. Since the transformers of transformers prime had no noses.
Guess it's only me who has no qualms with what Hasbro has done for this particular Arcee figure
You hate it because of how unfaithful the design is to Prime.
I hate it because of it transformation.
I think the legs were intentional if the plan to use this mold on a different character.
I am definitely getting this and Bulkhead though
I just realised; Arcee's toy design looks similar to Transformers Cybertron Ransack!
Kinda a let down I was hoping for prime arcee with a more modern mold
Idk why people hate this. This looks ok to me.
That accessory is a Cybertronian Mary Poppins umbrella
