Have you done a video on Picea mariana? I’ve really been wanting more info on them since they aren’t easy to find. I would love some to plant in a wet area in my yard
How long did it take to grow to that height? Beautiful tree and property. We just planted three black hills spruces on our property line. About 3 feet tall currently. Wondering if we should try to find some larger ones to mix in if possible.
Average mature width is around 15 feet. If you want to create a screen where they eventually touch, then 15 feet apart. You could go closer, but I would personally not plant closer than 10 feet.
Great beautiful tree. Thanks for sharing and for the information.
Not too shabby for $15. 😊 Beautiful!
Great video, that is an impressive property.

About 9 years on that one from a 3’ transplant.
So white spruce and black hills are the same species?
Yes. Black Hills Spruce is a variety of the White Spruce. Picea glauca var. densata
What spacing do you recommend for the black hills spruce.
