When the news broke that this film is playing in my hometown, I sort of screamed in shock. Macross Plus is among the best sci-fi films ever made, and I am beyond excited to see it on the big screen.

Finally found it !!!!!! I used to watch this video constantly in the 90s when I was a teenager. I had this music video on a CD. Now it's 2024 and this madew me so happy to finally watch it again after around 25 years.

For our future generations, I hope we can preserve this masterpiece for them to see a glimpse of a golden age from the past. Macross Plus is one of the greatest of all time. When I watched this when I was younger, I actually thought this was an official MV; I also thought the sound from the YF-19 was part of the original song, also the grunt from Isamu, and the noise when Sharon (Macross) went down. It fits just perfectly in the song and AMV; and the editing quality is beyond amazing; never would have thought it was unofficial. This is a testament of an absolute mastermind and a masterpiece anime combined in our history.
I saw Macross Plus: The Movie because it was on a shelf at Blockbuster video and had a cool cover. I didn't know it'd be one of the two movies that changed my life. The story, the characters, the animation, and of course, Yoko Kanno's music all came together into something my young mind was blown away by. I became an anime fan for life, but this movie has special and significance to me, more than any other work I've seen, before or since. "To all pioneers." Indeed.
I still love this song. I managed to catch a US release in theaters a little while ago (year maybe?) and this song sounded way different. I have no idea and wish I knew what the difference is. Can't tell from any copies I have and bought the old CD. Something is missing.

The original might be older than me... My dad showed this to me when I was little, and all I could understand was that the song was really good. Didn't understand a damn thing about the video itself. Then, when I started using an Ipod (way after Ipods became very uncommon) he put it on my Ipod as one of the videos I could watch to pass time on the school bus back in 5th grade (which would be about 5-6 years ago... so around 2012-2013). A few years pass, my sister is born, and my dad shows this to her... just last year, I think. And so I remember how great this song was, but I had already stopped using my Ipod. So now I had to search for it. Fast forward another year and I start searching for it again... specifically, just today. As one would assume from this comment, I found it. Goddamn was it worth it. I first watched Macross Plus when I was 12 or 13 now I'm 29 this sht was diffrent from many animes I seen at the time, it wasnt as full of a space opera anime as others. It had good story about the A.I Popstar and the action scenes was incredible.

Yeah personally I saw Macross Plus movie with a friend of mine in my teenage years when this and other ones like Ninja scroll were just hitting the US shores (on VHS no less!). So then I go online looking for whatever (not this track) and finding this track. Except it was the standard version of the song. Found the extended version several years later and was blown the f**** away by the sheer intensity of the added part. How does one even describe the computer lady er...thing that's a movie star and is huge taking over the whole city with...damn it's been so long since I've watched this in full I can't describe it! So imaginative it's just so unique.

YF-21とX-9のドッグファイトシーン、X-9のAIはスペック上ミサイル一斉射で撃墜可能だと弾き出してるんですよね
それを回避された事で評価を上方修正、直接戦闘による撃墜は困難と判断し撤退を選択
猛追する敵機から逃げる為に制限を解除して装甲が摩擦で燃え出す限界速度まで加速
更に追撃してくる敵機に混乱したX-9がパニックを起こしメチャクチャに飛び回る
冷静に追撃を続けたYF-21より先に機体が限界を迎えて体当たりを受け墜落
という流れなんですよ
相手もほとんど攻撃がままならない状態で逃げるだけなら真っ直ぐ飛んだ方が負荷が少ないし速いですからね
