The absolute worst stickers for me are the ones that you have to place on a 1x1 tile.
Indeed!
They should be printed, not being forced to add stickers, all decals on bricks/flats/curved bricks should be printed, not stickered!
Don't forget the stickers on a curved piece. Most recent example I can think of is the curved sticker on the curved macaroni tile for the front of the hogwarts express
*flashbacks to the office set*
A transparent sticker on a round transparent surface would like to combat that argument.
I'm suprised Lego hasn't started applying the stickers themselves like they did with the Mario sets. Those stick better and stay aligned, and it would be cheaper than printing everything.
Also a 500 dollar product has no business having stickers. Period.
Imagine me being a new adult LEGO fan just learning about stickers..
Okay, I got actually mad about the stickers going on the cockpit windows for that A-Wing and X-Wing, that's insane. The worst part about stickers, I think, is that over time they deteriorate, lose their grip, and crumble away. I've been told directly by the Lego company that no they don't, but my 2002 UCS Naboo Starfighter would beg to differ. Incidentally, you want to talk about bad stickers, that set has two stickers that have to be placed without *any* edges to align them with. They're completely round, so no flat edges, and they go at an angle on a large chrome-silver surface. Also that set has one sticker that covers literally eight different pieces.
Got a 2002 LEGO racer. Decal came off of a panel this year.
The stickers on my 08 republic gunship started cracking so I placed a layer of clear packing tape over them to keep them from getting worse.
I think the construction worker sticker is really funny.
I'm puttin the 'Hey Babe' sticker on the back of my car!
When i apply stickers,i always use tweezers, just grab the sticker on the side, gently "hover" the sticker over the surface, make sure that the brick in question cannot move, then slowly lowe the sticker until you are satisfied, then attach the sticker, never had it of center like this, plus the stickers doesn't get messed up by your hands.
When it comes to Speed Champions, that's one theme I'm okay with having alot of stickers, the experience of building these and applying stickers is very similar to applying decals of a model kit that will include a huge amount of decals.
The video should've included stickers across multiple pieces like from the older Indiana Jones sets, Speed Racer, Maersk ship, etc.
I am so glad that they don't do that any more.
I've heard of people who use an X-ACTO knife to cut stickers that go across multiple parts in order to preserve the sticker and make disassembly possible.
In the Back to the Future Time Machine set you state the only printed piece is the DMC logo. The rim elements are printed also making it not the only printed piece.
i love your pfp
I don’t mind stickers, but they are quite a pain to apply perfectly. They add more detail which is very nice.
That “Hey babe” sticker from the construction set is both confusing and hilarious. Kids wouldn’t get it but adults probably would. It’s one of those old tropes that doesn’t really come from anything in particular and isn’t very realistic, so it feels quite odd to see it as a Lego decal.
Why are people complaining about the “Hey Babe!” sticker when there’s literally one saying “Gettin' Dirty”?
Because liberals are the only ones that get offended by simple things that you shouldn’t get offended at but ignore the elephant in the room
because "getting dirty" is a funny, innocent joke that you have to look into if you want it to be rude
@@nemnyoomcan't both be bad?
Because softies can't Handel humor
I mean. To be fair. The "Gettin' Dirty" joke doesn't perpetuate outdated and sexist construction worker stereotypes. Frankly, neither one particularly bothers bothers me personally, but I can somewhat understand why some people didn't like it.
My favorite sticker on the Sanctum Sanctorum set is the sign for the Shady Acres care home. The piece itself has nothing to do with the build (in fact, you end up putting it in the accompanying lego dumpster afterward,) but it's a funny little reference to that scene in Thor Ragnarok where Loki reveals the last place he saw Odin. The whole set is like that. There's a sticker to show the contents of a refrigerator which is (of course) packed with more MCU references. It's great!
Imagine being such a baby that you end up complaining about a sticker that says hey babe 🗿

stickler, yes! of course! A STICKLER
(no hate, just a joke)

i feel like context might be important in these cases
One's a term of endearment, and one's sexual harassment. The context matters.
If it weren't for double standards, some people would have no standards.
@@kanaka118446 If Batman called his girlfriend Wyldstyle "babe" it would be fine. If a random construction worker shouted "hey, babe" at her it wouldn't be. It's not difficult.
Why can’t lego just put the stickers on the bricks themselves? It wouldn’t cost much
Personally I LOVE stickers
Yes it has it's draw backs, and we can all agree that printed elements are just far better at the end of the day.
But I appreciate that when I'm moc building, I can put stickers on anything I want, sure it might not be pure or anything, but hey at least it's official lego stickers.
Now now let's not jump to conclusions, he might be referring to the pig of the same name.
The nice thing about stickers is it lets you place them wherever you want too. You can ise cool stickers on diffident pieces
I think the main benefit to having a sticker versus a printed piece is that with a sticker, the piece is able to exist without the sticker; you have a choice of using it versus not using it.
This is especially the case when it comes to pieces that are designed for a particular set, or generally large or rare pieces, or a unique colouring of a piece, etc. Those pieces might be generally useful for other builds, but not so much if they have something printed on them.
The construction worker cat calling joke isn't really that surprising, after all the stickers were released in 2008, so such a thing would not have been that far gone from what was Socially acceptable, also you have to realize even though these are products meant mostly for children, they still would have had to have some kind of marketing for the parents who were paying for it. The truly surprising thing is the fact there were people back in 2008 who were so thin skinned that they were actually offended by a sticker for a plastic toy. Anyway good video as always.
White stickers discolor over time.
If you hate Lego stickers, please, I beg of you, build a Gundam. Gunpla stickers outshine Lego stickers in ways I didn't even think possible. They're flexible but they keep their shape, they have enough give to cleanly wrap around odd-shaped corners, the adhesive stays pliable after first application so they can be repositioned and even removed and reset. Bandai puts Lego to shame when it comes to stickers. Seriously, you won't believe it until you experience it for yourself.
The first one has two other stickers like “getting dirty” “and it’s a dirty job”
the first 10 words summarized lego hate in 2 and a half seconds
Soapy water is a great way to make sure your stickers go on right
I started using a pair of tweezers for stickers. You can tell which sets I’ve used the tweezers and which ones I didn’t lol.
I use a small knive to placed the stickers on Lego Parts.
Until a year ago I built not only Lego but other brands too, and most of them are absolutely capable of printing everything. Stickers may be ok for kiddy sets, but they have no place in display models and/or 18+. The stickers were one reason I didn't by the Rivendell Set, but I found a bundle of printed bricks for this set and ordered it. Now I wait a bit for a better price, because over 400 CHF really is too much.
from what I know stickers are way, way cheaper than any print
That hey baby sing aside I think creative imagination did really good artwork for those Lego stickers, even if they have nothing to do with Lego city, sets at all
A good sticker would be the stickers on the first side door on the 2008 republic gunship.
Why is everybody saying they hate stickers?
Applying stickers on Lego is the most satisfying thing I’ve ever done❤
at 8:10, i'm pretty sure that the soda can tiles (there is one as extra) are printed. I have this set
In order for the stickers to be applied beforehand, or printed on, the prices would end up being raised even more.
One of my favorite stickers is the one in the office Lego set where there is a stapler on a green piece, meant to represent the stapler in jell-o.
Person: did you get a Lego set
Me: yes
Person :how many stickers
Me: I only had 81 heart attacks
I actually like the tricky challenge that is placing stickers
I wish they just printed stickers on for us.
There is a way to make it fit easy on a rounded surface but it's harder to say with words.
10/10 I love sticklers
I think there could be a mention of Darth Maul's chamber from the duel on Mandalore, which basically did a good job on the sticker
I remember some old sets (before numbered bags) where you had to place stickers over two or more bricks. One of them I had (can't remember the set number), an Octan petrol station.
applying 24 big stickers on the inside of curved pieces on the new Lego Space shuttle was a nightmare. I got air bubbles in at least 3-4 and their alignment is a bit off. At least it's on the inside of the build and the cockpit, as well as most other stickers are printed, but even on the outside there are 4 clean white stickers on slightly cream-white bricks. Yikes. There's even a brick that looks like it has a sticker on it, but it's a print. It looks like that because it's a grey brick and the print is silver.
One time, I had a printed piece on a Lego set, and I had to put a sticker ON THAT PIECE. Why, Lego, why?
that is why, i miss little bit extra instruction likes make it wet with water and dishsoap (few drops) and than putting on. i use that technique because i am also sign worker
I know I'm in minority - but I like stickers because they allow you to ad those small extra details to MOCs with more artistic choice than printed parts as you can ad the whole sticker or parts of it to any piece you want.
I got a Lego technic set and one of the sticker wasn’t laser cut probably and I couldn’t get the sticker off
That’s a lot of cursed stickers! Awesome video!👍
Hi what about the nasa space shuttle discovery (10283)
It had big & small curved mirror stickers all on the inside of the shuttle doors
I made TLG send me an additional set of stickers so that I could have a chance at getting them to look decent.
Nice 👍
Honestly some people just need to get a helmet, but if it’s a concern for the kids that’s a different story. Don’t need kids saying hey babe to each other😂
UCS sets coming with stickers by itself is already atrocious. Isn't it expensive enough to justify printing the pieces?
Great vid SpitBrix!! Honestly for the price of UCS they should be all prints no stickers.
There is a misprint on the lego set 76217 I am groot on the instruction cover on the mix tape it has a flat long Grey tile but on page 14 it tells you to put a black long tile on top????
cursed stickers are really cursed😮
the hey babe sticker is so funny i need it
buy it it goes for 10 dollars
I remember that (I think) TD Bricks did a video on cursed stickers of smth and showed off an old Lego Batman set and there is a sticker that said "Dick" (meaning Dick Grayson/Robin)
Lego fans seem to forget that tweezers don't exist 💀
The first sticker "problem" sounds like a usual twitter non-issue with the people that are "outraged" by it being the same old same old oversensitive busy bodies.
You should make a video about the new lego minigure head molds but I can't find anything about the new head molds and the difference is in the head is which it has two lines in the top of the head.
The biggest issue I have with speed champions is that the windshield print on the 2020 huracan has no gaps but on the 2022 countach it has WHY LIKE YOU CAN DO IT SO WHY NOT??
"Oh how offensive! A sticker depicting a man speaking to a woman!"
Liberalism at its finest
It's a reference to cat-calling, if you're genuninely ignorant. It's the stereotype of construction workers sexually harassing random women on the street.
@@SlamTackle As a matter of fact I'm aware of what it's a reference to. I just don't consider it something worth being offended by.
@@TheOtherGuys2 Perhaps you'd feel differently if it was your sister or mother or daughter being made to feel uncomfortable and unsafe when they're minding their own business. Being catcalled is very unpleasant, and it shouldn't be made light of or normalised, especially in a product aimed at children.
@@SlamTackle Yes, but it's still bs to get offended over a sticker with a certain phrase just because it's associated with sexual harassment.
Hello hope you are doing well
If your reading this here's an icecream🍦
Thank you 😊
So "Hey babe" is offensive, but clear reference to Apocalypse Now when napalm was used agains civilians with phrase "I love smell of napalm(concrete here) in the morning" is perfectly fine and good. Yeah, what a joke society is right now.
The phrase "I love the smell of BLANK in the morning" is far more well known than the movie you say it comes from, most people don't know where the phrase comes from, that's why they weren't offended. Most people do know the trope of male construction workers making sexist comments towards women passing by, so they were offended by that reference.
Hey dude. Fine
Hey man. Fine
Hey bro. Fine
Sup brother. Fine
Hey guys. Fine
Hey babe. THE WORST THING EVER.
@@jockdouglass3824*sigh*, no. noone said it's the worst thing ever...we said its kinda inappropriate for a kids toy...🤷? Also the word babe carries sexual connotations, calling men words that just mean "man", isn't a worthwhile comparison.

@@SlamTackle hey guys. See, people don't get offended by that.
Lmao whose idea was that construction sticker. The other stickers in there have weird innuendos as well
Those Rivendell stickers ruined the building experience for me, could never get the damn things right. A set that special and expensive should have been fully printed. Major incompetence on Legos part. Still havent finished the thing, would've been best set i own otherwise.
“Hey babe” was offensive 😂
It’s cat-calling. And that can be pretty disrespectful. Pretty sure it’s considered harassment in Europe.
@@Linkathonwe dont know who hes talking to. He could be talking to his wife of ten years. He could be talking to his bestie. He could be talking to his coworker, we dont know
@@footloosegenius2242 Yeah, we don’t know. He could be catcalling. It’s likely that too. Seeing as how it’s stereotypical of construction workers to do that. And Lego obviously saw it that way if they got rid of it.
@@Linkathon they got rid of it because people were upset
It takes truly pathetic person to be offended by that first sticker.
It doesn't make much sense to me to whine about stickers being hard. I build a lot of models and paint them myself, I see legos and placing stickers as the most basic of tasks. Such an odd thing to get bent up about.
2:45 stickler
Imagine being offensed for nothing
That's an official Lego sticker?! Really? I mean if it was from Citizen Brick, then yeah, that's funny, but it's from Lego itself.
Interesting
Too many stickers we need printed tlies
cool
Wait how did he make the title like that
*_well..._*
The women complaining about cat calling don't get cat called. Seriously I see it as a compliment.
Of course a man is saying that sexual harassment is a compliment. What a good person you are.
@@donthasselthehoff5753 It isn't sexual harassment, but thanks for the compliment. Weird.
But the title font…?
Curved ones are the worst
I’m guessing the “Hey Babe” one was made in a attempt to lure in a male crowd. As LEGO City tends to be more male leaning.
How tf can you get offended by a sticker?

The dirty joke
Putting them on is bad, reading them and looking at them is funny, cute, or questionable.
LEGO is full of it. Sure it’s _easier_ to make stickers sometimes, but the stickers colors rarely match the plastic colors, the die cuts are often off register, they sometimes arrive bent as little care goes into adding them to sets, etc … just look at Gringot ts. What a joke. Even if stickers are the only way to have that detail, the sticker sheet contains white space to the right of the”Gringot” and to the left of the”ts” requiring you to perform sticker surgery to have it look anywhere near decent.
For the construction sticker I blame the audience more than the brand
There's no problem with it. NO PROBLEM at all.
Hey babe.
How is “hey babe “ inappropriate ☠️ it’s not good but seriously get over yourselves 😂
