Believe it or not the movie actually tones down both Jimmy and Tommy compared to how they were in real life.

This is one of my all time favorite movies and Martin Scorsese is one of my all time favorite directors. Another great gangster movie you and Mansoor would both like is “Road to Perdition” starring Tom Hanks. It delves into the Irish-American Mafia in the 1930’s.

The real Tommy was even more fucked up. He once shot a man, a total stranger, on the street one night. I think he wanted to test a new gun he got. He tried to rape the real Karan Hill, too. The real Henry Hill theorized Tommy's death was much slower and agonizing than in the movie, that mused that John Gotti, the last great Italian-American mobster, presided and/or killed Tommy himself. Gotti and Billy Batts were really good friends. The Spider episode was 100% accurate, too.

The actor who played James Conway is in the film the Godfather 2. The Godfather has several sequels. He's a great actor and although he's done all types of films one of the type of films he's known for are Italian mafia films. He's part Italian.
The term Goodfellas although it has the word good doesn't literally mean a good person. Its an old term.
Like godfather means mob boss and a symbolic substitute parent in the Christian faith goodfella means a gangster esp a member of the mafia
