Then kie is the mom of the group who most of the time gets them out of trouble and is concerned for all of them, like JJ said they can’t do it without kie. Then Pope is the brains as it says in the introduction and he is the golden boy. Then John B is the leader pretty much, he also motivates them and gives other people outside the group a chance, like he brought Sarah in the group while nobody else really liked her that much at the beginning. If any of them died the squad wouldn’t be the same. Like when they was told (quote on quote) that John B might be dead they was all so broken and lost especially poor JJ who thought he just lost his friend since 3rd grade just because he was framed. I can’t i live the outer banks so much. 😂❤️

JJ is probably the kindest, strongest and most vulnerable character in the whole series. He is always there when his friends need him. He sacrificed himself for them countless times, and he always gives them everything he has to give, even when he’s has absolutely nothing. There was never a time when he didn’t give everything up for his friends, even though his dad has put him through god knows what at home. And he obviously likes kie, I mean, you can see it in his eyes, anytime she talks about another guy, you can tell that he wants her. But when she kisses John b and Pope, he doesn’t get mad at her, he just steps back, and lets it happen. You can tell that it hurts him to see kie with other guys, but he doesn’t do anything about it. JJ deserves so much more, he deserves the world. I really hope that kie realizes that he likes her, and that she should get together with him. He deserves her. And nothing ever goes right for JJ, yet he still just keeps on giving more and more of himself up, and at some point, he wont have anymore of himself to give, but he'll still just keep giving. JJ deserves better than the life than the one he has.

I agree! If you compare this show to like Greenhouse Academy.. the acting is great. I love Greenhouse Academy but the acting could definitely use some work. I also love how real this cast is, they seem very genuine which is refreshing!

This is why I think, that he had such a big attachment to the gun. Everyone was always telling him to leave it behind but coming from background when he never felt secure in his life, the gun represented safety for him. He was always living in fear of his father beating him half to dead without having anything to defend himself. I'm not sure if I got the timeline correct but I think that he stopped bringing the gun with him after he realised he could not shoot his father after everything he's done. Like the gun has suddenly become worthless in terms of being a barrier or defence mechanism because he would never be the guy to actually kill someone.
And I literally sobbed in that one scene where JJ was scared and was just about to apologize to his dad but before he even could his dad punched him. I just wanted to hug him like- and I think the hot tub scene was such a important scene to the whole season because it’s where JJ was saying his friends are pretty much his only family. And then kie hugged him and they hugged it out then Pope joined in, I think that scene was so important because that’s when the gang realized how bad the abuse with his dad was and how broken JJ really was. So I think when they hugged that made JJ feel some worth in his life and I just love that scene for that. ❤️🥰 ALSO I wanna add that his friends pretty much just realized JJ wasn’t just the annoying kinda friend in the group and realized that he was just broken and mostly was considered kinda annoying because he doesn’t get attention at home at all except from the attention he doesn’t want like when his dad beats him. The outer banks is mainly just about family and friends if you think about it and to not take granted of life and to enjoy it. ✌️🥰

Rudy Pankow better win an award sometime for his performance in this show. Absolutely stellar, down to the intense lip quivering, man this guy’s so good. Incredible job. Best character in the whole dang thing.

Tbh I thought at first he actually cried on set. And it was not acting. His sobbing and the way he tried to get himself to stop crying in the hot tub scene I really thought it was real and he actually cried. And I really just wanted to give him the biggest hug in the world when he started letting his guard down and crying. He deserves the world. JJs character is amazing. He’s broken, abused, not loved, funny, humorous. I really want him to find someone who will love him deeply. Kiara isn’t the one for him. But he needs someone to just love him, and I’m really hoping that for him.
Rudy is an amazing actor to be able to pull of every single emotion, whether it’s crying, trying not to, anger, or heartbreak. He’s amazing.
