TU Dublin Conservatoire Presents Ode to Joy on Europe Day

Tuesday, 09 May, is a special day for Ireland and for Europe. It marks 50 years of Ireland’s EU membership since our decision to join the European Economic Community (EEC) on 22 January 1972.
In celebration, TU Dublin Conservatoire presents a traditional Irish version of the EU anthem, Ode to Joy, recorded as part of the EU50 Programme to celebrate 50 years of the EU. It is the first time a traditional Irish music version has been recorded, despite many versions and styles available on official EU channels.
