But not Turkey?
seems DW fund them, that's why calling them rebels! 😂
Because Assad and his govt ain't beacon of human rights and kindness, instead quite opposite. He has oppressed Syrians a lot. Why shouldn't be people fighting against his oppression be called by relatively neutral term 'rebel' if not freedom fighters or liberators.
@@stardust286 More like assad is pro russian

Syria is like Lebanon...it's basically a failed state....the government in Damascus only controls small select areas in the country....and now they might lose control most of those small areas and just remain in control of Damascus
What is happening is that Russian air defensives are proving to be ineffective against the new American F-35 Lightening stealth fighters. That is problem. Syria, and Iran cannot protect their air space.
I learned a messy situation is getting messier.
Americans an Turks supporting Islamists again
Who is paying for this? There are people on donkeys with dirt and dust about and we see this? What sort of people are these?
A lot of commentators here are upset these terrorists are being called "rebels".
Would you prefer "militants", like the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists?
These rebels had experience torture by Gov forces for decades...long before wars started...Thats why they rebel
The point is, people who fight real prolonged military battles, are not really what people think of, when they hear terrorists. And the term rebels stuck in the Syrian context, beyond its original meaning. It pretty much just denotes a meta(?)-faction within the conflict.
The Assad regime is the worst - except for all the potential alternatives that might take power in Syria.
From bad to worse.
Syria must be divided into different small countries - north west for Assad and die Allawens ethnicity + south for the Druze (especially around Jabel-al-duruz), in the north-east for Kurds and the rest of the area for the Sunni.

You brought an interesting point. A lot of ME countries are artificially created countries with majorities and minorities of religious groups. That's why they are boiling all the time.

When you realized Al Assad is a good guy and the rebels weren’t 🙄
syria and russia should stop escalting it
syria goverment supported by russia should just surrender and give up and give half its land to the rebels since the rebels are supported by turkey and turkey has nukes s
yes russia and syria should stop escalating ...soon we will have WW3
Turkey does not have nukes. The US forces in Turkey have nukes. Big difference.

Turkiye defeated the combined powers of all Western nations during their peak strength during Turkiye's war of independence. Erdogan & Turkiye are rational actors.
@@azumishimizu1880TURKEY has good things about it and bad things about it. TURKEY also annihilated the Armenians, Pontic Greek, Assyrians and Cilicians and even attempted to do so with the Kurds. Infact Turkiye beat not only combined Western powers, but also their Asian colonies! Turks certainly did lose some battles, but also ruled Austrian land during the Hunnic Empire & Pannonian Avars. The West is now severly weakened, because it doesnt have colonies anymore.
Turkey behind this culprit game.
They reclaimed Aleppo a Million metropole without injuring one single citizen. I guess this says alot to international viewers.
because the Syrian army mostly left the city or surrendered and then got executed
It says that Assads forces ran away to regroup nothing more nothing less.
Syria is the size of North Dakota, with a population of 22 million. This conflict has been going on for over 13 years. Imagine the death toll, the devastation, and the length of time an American civil war would be like if the Conservatives decided to take arms against...well, everyone else. Assad regime lost nearly 60% of his pre 2010 military strength during the Syrian civil war when his officers and soldiers defected or was killed off. Assad's grip on Syria is hanging by a very thin thread. If it wasn't for the Russians, Assad would have been dead by now. The SAA is barely controlling the country as it is, they don't have enough tanks to launch an offensive yet alone hold ground or capture rebel territories.
