Junge Soldaten hatten nur eine kurze militärische Ausbildung, bevor sie an die Front geschickt wurden.
Viele starben in den Gräben, weil sie nach dem Gas Leute ohne Gasmaske sahen und die eigenen herunterrissen.
Sie wussten schlichtweg nicht, daß Senfgas schwerer als Luft ist und sich in Senken sammelt. Das hatte man ihnen bei der Ausbildung nicht beigebracht.
Young soldiers had only a short military training before being sent to the front.
Many died in the trenches because after the gas they saw people without gas masks and tore their own ones off.
They simply didn't know that mustard gas is heavier than air and collects in depressions. They hadn't been taught that during their training.

artillery as soon as they come out of the trench? do the germans have super vision and why they just walking and not running
The Germans had spotters, As for the troops walking in to machine guns it was part of the plan for the Somme, They had been hitting the Germans with artillery for 7 days, So the expectation was to just walk over in order to stay in formation and carry all the supplies they needed to hold the trench.
I cant tell if this is what's happening in the clip mind you, they seem to not be carrying all that much.
Its also been challenged as a bit of a myth but being a show they can lean in to it, different units used different tactics we know some units did indeed walk across and others charged. But the somme over all was a bloody battle for my kin and their allies.
I would imagine in that heavy mud it would be hard to run and would risk ankle injury. Move Over, the mud would have a suction effect on every footstep making it hard to lift to foot up again. The strength and energy required would have been very high yet difficult on poor rations. Nevermind the potential enemy (or friendly) artillery and machine gun fire.
