    Can’t believe I’m only watching this Northumberland tour now folks! I’m riding it next week for the first time and looking for inspiration. Your vids have certainly given me this. Well done, you’re a great team and wonderful tour guides. Hope you’re both well! Dave 👌🏍️🎥

    Loved the Life of Brian quote in here. And if I wasn't mistaken, a Fast Show "I'll get me coat" as well. Someone likes their comedy! Was amazed at that lovely community owned pub.

    Don't you just hate gravel roads chipping the paint on the frame, little stones getting lodged everywhere and remembering to be extra gentle on the brakes, oh the joys of motorcycling. Looks like you had really good weather too, we had early morning rain so I didn't take the Honda CB450 K5 out today, used the MINI JCW instead but now I'm sat in my man cave watching your latest video while enjoying a strawberry and lime fruit flavoured cider, thanks to you both for another excellent video, ride safe.

    • @midlifemotorcyclediaries
      @midlifemotorcyclediaries  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Lee! Yes, the gravel isn’t easy and we’re always concerned about scratching or damaging the bike 😟 but it was worth the risk and always good to build confidence 👍 enjoy your cider and thanks for watching! 😀👍

    Once again great video. I have walked the Pennine way. Many years ago. Did it with the school in our summer holidays. We did in with one of the best teacher we have. Miss child's. We meet up with our ex head teacher. Mr bell. I really nice man. Great time at school with them. We did camping and hiking. We also do the lyke wake walk. 40 miles from osmotherley to ravenscar. Sorry I,v not been out on my bike yet. Her indoors keeps giving me job to do around the house. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Ride safe and take care of each other.👍👍☺️

    Wow, my backyard motorcycle roads! I, too, am back on a bike after a small break of almost 40 years! Plus, I used to live in Ridsdale many many years ago, and visited the 'new' Gun on my new Ducati in August. Fabulous what the village community has achieved, there. You missed a great rollercoaster road to Ridsdale on the way out of Bellingham, turn right just after the garage, it takes you through Redesmouth, and it's a blast on a bike. But. Thats the great thing about Northumbrian roads, there are usually at least a couple of ways to get anywhere, so it is hard to get lost, as roads intersect and criss cross.

    Another great film from "The munch bunch" lol and Brian was really on form with the funny comments, the fat blokes armour comment was a classic, I love birds of prey but I've never seen one of those beauties before, hopefully the great roads and weather made up for the scabby 2nd hotel, which was in total contrast to the first one, how wonderful that the locals have the drive and commitment not only to save it but refurbish it and keep it going.

    Blimey , Kielder as poshed itself up ! Must be 30 years since I've been through there. Me and a couple of mates managed to put an Austin Princess into a ditch coming back from RAC rally night stage (probably '83-84). The ditch wasn't too bad but it knocked the tracking so far out we drove the 200 miles back home VERY sideways, inspected car following morning and both front tyres were down to the canvas. Good times !

    Great job Sue going through the gravel road. I ran into a couple of miles of gravel due to a road being under repair. Can't say that the Michelin Road 5's that are on the Trident are the best tire for that, but reduced speed and watching the road kept me out of trouble. I also liked seeing the towel warmers in the room, reminded me of our cousin's place in Wales we visited a few years (29) back. Her converted church is now a B&B outside of Llanidloes.

    All local to me, I've ridden most of these roads many times, on Harleys, an old Royal Enfield and a Honda 250 Rally. Always stunning no matter what you ride. A very enjoyable series.

    We did the Northumberland 250 in September this year, some of the best biking roads I’ve ridden. We had a great overnight at the YHA in Berwick on Tweed but as I plan to do the route again it’s great to get reviews of some of the other accommodations available on the route. Great review of a great route, waiting for the next one 👍🏻

    Hi, a very enjoyable video especially when you undertook the Kielder Forest ride which I have done myself on my GSA 1250, nerve-racking but fun! I was surprised at your low rating for bike parking at 'The Gun' especially as the lady said if you contact her beforehand etc she would do whatever they could to accommodate bikes. Thats above and beyond the attitude of most establishments, surely with a positive attitude such as that, that was worth a 5?

    • @midlifemotorcyclediaries
      @midlifemotorcyclediaries  3 года назад +3

      Thank you! The Kielder Forest ride was exactly that - nerve racking but fun! 👍 the Gun is excellent and would certainly get a 5 for parking if it wasn’t mainly heavy gravel - Louise’s attitude was first class and she’d definitely get a 5 for that! 😀 we thought 4/5 was a good score! 😀👍

    Another great vid, top entertainment. I would need the fat bloke 'stretch' chainmail. The first pub looked a fabulous spot and second one sort of didn't. Recognised loads of those roads. Think you've watched what is our favourite of our Best Biking Roads series which starts at that filling station in Alston.
    Alston to Middleton in Teesdale is just stunning but there isn't a bad road out of Alston, it's a real biker's paradise and not too busy. Keep up the good work 👍👍

    I travel up to Kielder on a regular basis so obviously I know a lot of the does and don'ts. One of the don'ts is to fill up with fuel in Bellingham, the price is extortionate! I don't necessarily blame the retailer because they are relatively remote and small and the transportation charge of the fuel and the fact they probably don't have a substantial amount contributes to the cost. The cheapest fuel at the moment in the area is in Kielder village but currently it's card payment at the pump only.

    • @midlifemotorcyclediaries
      @midlifemotorcyclediaries  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Raymond! Good to know - we definitely got caught out in episode 2 and had to use Bellingham 😳 ! but if you don’t know the area 🤷‍♂️ but I suppose they can charge high prices in the middle of nowhere 😀👍

      @@midlifemotorcyclediaries When I have used Bellingham I just buy sufficient fuel (about 1 gallon/4.54 litres) to get me to another reasonably priced service station. Incidentally the production of your video's is excellent in my opinion, keep up the good work.
