Great..I have never totally gotten used to audio books..I guess I am still old fashioned. i like to HOLD and flip pages..and SEE the letters. I think it helps my imagination..and somehow unless the audiobook was spoken by the author him (or her) self..I feel cheated. This maybe spiritual (lol)..I have several audiobooks that were spoken by the author himself like one of Barack Obama's books and even a famous Nigerian Pastor's book on ideas that rule the world, the first audiobook I have seen spoken by a Nigerian..Anyway with kindle and e-books..I guess I have to totally conform to this generation. And true, driving and listening to audiobooks in traffic in Lagos will definitely add value to one's life.
You're absolutely on point. When it's not the author reading the audiobook it definitely feels like a fraud. Holding and flipping the pages yourself gives you the ability to read it in your mind's own voice - which is priceless. That way you don't feel any undue influence besides the words themselves. But we live in an age where we're always engaged in something that requires our eyes and hands
